《Just For Fun》Chapter 6: Old Friends

Well after Nebel finished washing the dishes, Bö came back smelling of soap and with her hair neatly combed straight. She spun in front of Nebel showing off her uniform. “I’m ready!” Bö says with a smile and holds out her arms.
Nebel looks at her “That’s good, see you after school.” Bö drops her arms back down to her sides and pouts before yelling at Nebel. “When are you going to forget about that? I’m not the other me!”
Nebel opens his mouth but Bö is already gone have slipped into her shoes, grabbed her bag and flown out of the door. Nebel felt a lit bad. “Were those tears?” A few minutes later after moping around the house Nebel decided to go back into CAIFELIT. “Those were just crocodile tears…
probably…” placing his vr gear onto his neck he says the activation command and quickly crosses his cyber space. Instead of either the hourglass or broken pieces and the light in the corner dedicated to CAIFELIT the spear he had been practicing with was leaning against the wall.
Confused on what to do Nebel reaches out and lifts the spear up and away from the wall. The walls collapse away from him as the objects in his cyber space melt into the floor, the floor shatters and Nebel falls into darkness, a wet feeling permeates his sense of touch and then the darkness breaks like a tear drop hitting the ground.
“Well that was cool!” Nebel exclaims completely ruining the scene.
“Nebel?” Nebel looks towards the call and sees two of his friends running up the path towards him. He was once again exactly where he had logged out most of the way along the third path on his way to mobility training.
“Hey Mike, hey Chris. What’s up?” He says to the two, Mike was large but not extremely so, he only seemed that way thanks to his bulging muscles and pug like face, on his back an axe was strapped that screamed axe murderer. While Chris was short lanky and screamed nerd, but not the useful studious kind, the batman loving kind but strangely enough he actually wasn’t either, he was a university swim team member... on his waist a sheathed short sword could be seen.
“Hey Nebel how long were you in the waiting room?” Chris asks
“Why do you ask?”
Mike answers for him after a moment “Some of the group isn’t here yet…”

“Oh ok, I was only in there for a minute.” Nebel says “What about you guys?”
Both of them shake their heads “So like you, damn Nebel I was in there for three hours.”
Mike and Nebel look completely surprised. “Really?”
Nebel says “What about you, Mike?”
Mike smiles while looking at Chris “An hour and ten minutes.” Normally Chris was faster at everything while Mike was stronger in every brute force way but I guess physical speed has nothing to do with this.
“OK…” Nebel looks at the both of them especially Chris, who looks like he’s about to jump at Mike. “Hey, let’s get moving guys.” Startled they both look at him. “Ok.” Both say. The three start walking towards the third facility. “So Nebel, why are you still not finished?” Chris asks “I had to stop playing to feed Bö.”
“Oh ya.. How is she?” Mike follows up. “Pretty good.” Nebel smiles, thinking about his contradictory friends, Mike likes cute things. Not many people would believe that a weight lifting champ wannabe would be like that but all of his friends knew it.
“Hey Nebel, that still doesn’t explain why your still here.” Chris says.
“Well the training was pretty long, wasn’t it? I’m actually surprised both of you are already here.”
Chris sighs and Mike smirks… but mike was looking at a colorful bird flying past so it might have been for a different reason…
“Nebel, my status is different to Mike’s.” Chris says “In fact the reason we are both together is because Mike had to use his axe to get the skill and actually read a book to learn magic.”
Nebel stops walking “Hmm, I think I know what’s going on… Chris how did you leave the waiting room?”
Chris actually looked like this question surprised him. “At the end of the three hours, my name was called and I left the room. Why?”
Nebel turns to Mike “How did you leave the room?”
Mike turns back from looking towards a cat lazing in the morning sun. “I got angry and threw one of the chairs into a wall. I was called out into the hall for disciplining.”
Both of them look at Nebel “What about you?” Chris asks playing the spokes person
Nebel darts his vision between both of them staring at him “Umm, I asked a question.”

“Damn, seriously? All we had to do was… anything?” Chris says looking pissed off.
“Seems like it. Hey I just thought of something show me your status screens… Actually no let’s show each other after he go out grinding.” Nebel says.
“Sounds good..” Mike says and holds out his fist.
“Damn, I have this feeling I’m going to have to wait for you guys..” Chris holds out his fist.
“Ok it’s a plan.” The three of them bump fists in a triangle and continue their walk.
After a few minutes they reach their destination and are greeted by five signs.
SwimmingRunningJumpingClimbingSpecial movements(advanced only)
Chris went towards swimming for some reason neither of the others could understand, he could already swim like a fish would he just get the skill naturally? Mike looked at the signs for a moment and walked towards climbing and Nebel decided what ever and went to Running.
At the running track a gym teacher type man, you know which kind I mean, like most ex professionals or wannabe professionals he was nearly round compared to the young men running in front of him and obvious could no longer run but that didn’t stop him from teaching, no sir.
“Hey boy you here to learn to run better.” The man said “Call me coach, all of them do.” He gestures towards the runners.
“Yes I am. Ok coach.” Nebel replies.
“Ok you’re a beginner so I’m not allowed to teach you much, but it’s mostly about stamina just keep increasing how much you run and you will be able to run longer. Also use big slow breaths to keep your heart from racing if you sprint. Well get to it. First do three laps, rest, five laps, rest and finally do eight laps and then you can go.”
In classic lazy gym teacher style he told Nebel the absolute minimum and immediate sat down on a folding chair with an expression like he had done something terribly difficult.
Nebel decided to breathe through his nose like he heard joggers talk about back home, letting his breath out of his mouth afterwards as he jogged around the track. After he finished the three laps he sat down and watched the other runners doing another lap… man they were way fast then him.
After a moment he got bored of watching them and decided to continue… after about thirty minutes he was on his finally eight… the track wasn’t that big… and he noticed that the coach was already gone “What a slacker.”
Nebel continued jogging the track for a little while and finished the jogging practice much faster than the other training. As he past the lap marker on the last lap a new ability was added to the list.
Abilities WindowVectors :The BasicsRapier:Thrust:25% accuracy, 22% powerSpear:Basic Slashes:35% accuracy, 28% powerWar Hammer:Right Sweep:50% accuracy, 30% powerMovement:Jogging: small distance, medium speed
“Well whatever better meet up with the others.” Nebel heads off over to climbing and finds Mike just reaching the top of a very large climbing wall but when both of them group up and head over to swimming Chris isn’t there. “Hey, have you seen I nerdy guy named chris?” Nebel asks a guy in Speedos who was about to jump into the pool. the guy jumps in anyway but then stop and doggy paddles on the spot. “Ya, he came talked to the swim master, did one lap and said got the skill before running off towards the training areas exit.”
The guy points towards an arch in the perimeter wall before starting a lap. “Thanks.” Nebel said after him even though he knew the guy wouldn’t hear him.
Nebel and Mike reach the exit in only a few minutes and find Chris waiting for them. “I got her first.”
He declares “I’m party leader. Join party!”
The three of them look around… nothing happens…
“Create party.” Once again nothing,,,
“Let’s hunt!” nothing… “Argg, so annoying what could the frase be?” Chris screams
“Create party.” Nebel says “I already tried that.” Chris gripes
Group Formation[/tr]Forming a group with the following individuals. Player Chris rated as tank, Aggressor Mike rated as damage dealer and Hero Nebel as player with most leadership qualities has been set to leader.
“What? Why did it work for you?” Chris yells.
Mike who was obviously trying to get the ringing out of his ears from Chris yelling beside his ears says in a pained voice “Maybe only the player with the most leadership in gathering area can make the group.”
Chris started going on a rant about unfair treatment and underhand systems… this was going to take a while… in the mean time Mike and Nebel sat down and started show off their weapons to each other.
