Waking up, Gear found himself in a forest. It was currently inside a small clearing with burns making a strange formation. The smell of smoke showed that the burns were caused recently, and might be attributed to his appearance here.

In the shape of an egg, the egg moved from a horizontal position to a vertical position.

Changing shape, the egg slowly started to grow legs. Then it started to grow wings, then a tail. A dragon like creature flew off from the trees.

Processing all of the new information in it’s head, Gear opened the status menu.

Closing the menu, Gear continued to fly around to gather map data. Looking around, it saw several beasts roaming around. Scanning their data, it checked how different they were from Earth’s animals.

Their body composition was a lot simpler than it should be. The interior of most beasts only consisted of large amounts of nanomana. In fact, everything was made out of nanomana. Beasts had no organs, only nanomana moving in complex patterns with unknown purposes.

Scanning its own body, Gear found out that only it seemed to be different. Everything here was made up of nanomana, but Gear was made of atoms. So far, there seemed to be no complications, but Gear concluded that having only an atomic structure was going to be troublesome in this world.

From many years of studies, humans have been able to figure out that atoms and nanomana were made of the same thing. There was a theory that for every atom on the periodic table, there would be a similar type of nanomana found somewhere in the universe. The two discovered nanomana particles were 96% similar to oxygen and carbon.

Nanomana was smaller than atoms and was less dense, but in exchange they have more energy. A knife made out of atoms would be more dense than a knife made out of nanomana, but energy more powerful than electrons can be extracted.

Gear’s body was made out of atomic materials, thus he is one of the most durable beings in the entire universe. However, because of this, he cannot naturally use energy from nanomana, or mana. He has a storage tank to store mana, but he himself cannot use it.

Thus, all he has to do is absorb mana. The surroundings have mana, but when a beast dies, all of their mana explodes outwards causing their body to turn into dust. The expelled mana can be absorbed to strengthen the surroundings.

Killing more beasts, Gear continued to absorb mana into his body, fusing atomic and nanomana particles together.

Gear felt a change in his body. The mana has flowed throughout his body, changing his old energy source default to mana. Calling up the status screen, Gear checked out his stats.
