Chapter 13: A World Shaken
Human capital, Ziltharth
Set away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a small building, with neither window or door to view in or out, in an enclosed room, safe from prying eyes, stood three hooded figures. Two dress in white hooded robes while the third, the leader of the three, wore a robe, as black as the night. The expression on their faces, filled with confusion, each staring into a ball of light, which occupied the center of the room. No one spoke, not one was sure what to say or think. Finally, One of the white robes turned to the leader.
White Robe 1: “Lord Sebastian, this isn’t right, that doesn’t make any sense, could we have made a mistake?”
These words, brought the other two of their stupor.
White Robe 2: “Fool, you dare doubt Lord Sebastian!?”
White Robe 1: “You’re the fool, you saw it, how such a reading be right, I’m not questioning my lord skills, it just… it’s just not possible.
Sebastian was a Great Sage, second only to two. His influenced spreads across the continent, he was knowledgeable in all matters of the arcane and with his foresight abilities, he was the natural choice when choosing a leader for the king’s council. Removing the hood from his head revealed young man, no more than twenty years of age. With his red hair and polished features, few would guess that such a man would be the world-renowned Sage.
Sebastian: “……………..I’m heading to the castle, Cecil, Morgan, both of you will be accompanying me, we must deliver this news to the king at once.”
Cecil: “Calm yourself nephew, is there any need to rush?”
Sebastian: “Uncle?”
Cecil was an elderly, but spry, uncle of Sebastian. His knowledge of the arcane, far exceeded Sebastian’s, years of honing his skills left him with a rather extensive knowledge. Alas he mana capacity was lacking and most of his knowledge of the arcane is all but useless, when it came time for the king to choose his advisors, he was first to nominate Sebastian. He decided that if he could not use his knowledge himself, he would teach what he knows to his nephew. Sebastian was one of the few who’s mana capacity was way beyond average. He was then chosen for the second seat and now works with Sebastian, for the king.
Cecil: “For once, I must agree with Morgan, such a reading, and the location………. It is too soon to make judgement.”
Morgan: Is your age finally dulling your mind, or did I just hear you agree with me, it’s about time you recognize my greatness.
Cecil: “Still looking for recognition, still a child at heart, you will never become a women, with such a mindset, although…………….. there is more than one way to become a woman, such curvaceous splendor, I would be happy to assist, heheheh~”
Morgan: “*blush* Y-You perverted bastard!!”
Morgan cross her arms to her chest, trying and failing to hide her assets. She was a beautiful, blonde, in a body befitting a of god, she was the third and final member of the council. Morgan was a specialist in witchcraft. Her hexes, knew no rival and her curses were said to follow you to the grave. It was an unusual for such a beautiful woman, to obtain a seat on the king’s council. Many believe that she used immoral means to obtain the king’s favor and challenged her for the position, these individuals were quickly obliterated. She did not tolerate such rumors and would immediately end them. Sebastian himself, would rather not engage her, however unbeknownst to him, she would not dream of physically harming him.

Sebastian: “Ahem, Everyone, the king specifically stated that if we were to receive such a reading, we were to notify him immediately.”
Morgan: “Yeah, yeah, we were all their when he said it, but the reading we felt only happened once, plus it was barely noticeable, I’m confident that if not for the three of us working in tangent, it would have not even been discovered.”
Cecil: “I agree, if we are to present our findings to the king, we should be sure our findings are concrete.
Morgan: “See, the lecher gets it.”
Sebastian: “I understand, however, if some else was to pick up on the reading we just received, and acts on it, we will be held accountable.
That was true, they could tell the king of the reading, but if it ends up being nothing but a farce, they could end up humiliating the kingdom and/or ruin themselves. On the other hand, with holding the information could lead to another kingdom beating them to the punch. The king would not like being left in the dark, while their enemies move.
Sebastian: “For now, let’s just send the king a message, telling him that we had a small reading, however, we are not sure of its authenticity and that he should not act on this until we have absolute proof.”
Morgan: “Are you kidding, the king couldn’t keep his mouth shut, if he was thrown in a pool of horse shit.”
Sebastian: “Don’t be disrespectful.”
Cecil: “Crude as she may be, she is right, the king would not miss a chance to up his popularity with the masses.”
Sebastian: “That is true, however, we are his council, it is our job to persuade the king not to take such an action, if we cannot, what good are we?”
Sebastian words could not be refute. Both nodding an agreement with Sebastian, he began writing the letter. He wrote down their other findings and urge the king not to reveal them just yet. With his letter written he sent a servant to deliver it, whilst Cecil, Morgan and himself began their readings anew. Standing around in the center of the room, once again they began to chant.
Sebastian: “We will scan the that area once more; we must be absolutely sure that we have located “Origin”.”

Pristyne Capital-Suvari, Primeval Castle,
The sun was at its peak, as a child made his way through one of the castle’s courtyards. He was a skinny little thing, his ears and tail reminiscent of a squirrel. He had a couple of bruises on his faces, although his unkempt, dirty brown hair made it hard to tell. Strap across his back was a large sack, the contents shook and rattled as he moved along. He enjoyed walking through this courtyard, it was the only one he could enter, but it was the largest of the three and the most extravagant. It housed a tower that set as a separate structure from the rest of the castle.
A cyan colored tower, standing fifteen stories. The tower set on a lone island in the middle of a pond. Far enough away from the walls of the castle, promising seclusion from the rest of the world, that was his destination. A lone bridge connected the island and as he cross stared up at the tower with a child-like wonder, for as long he could remember, he had been going back and forth from this tower, and yet it never ceases to amaze him. Towards the end of the bridge, like always, two guards stood by the entrance as he approached. Both Wolf Beastmen, though if they knew he referred to them as Beastmen, he would be in a lot of trouble. Calling them anything but “The Pristyne” was considered, an insult among insults.

Upon reaching the door, he bowed his head to his masters, the guards stopped conversing and looked down at the scraggy therian child, though that only lasted a moment. The Wolfman on the right, turned and opened the door to allow passage. The guards, paid no more attention to the boy and renewed their conversation. With the doors now open, whilst keeping his head down, he entered the structure and breathed a sigh of relief. He never knew what might happen with those wolves, he was glad they were so deep in their conversation.
The doors closing behind him always made him jump, sometimes he thought the guards slammed the doors, just to get that reaction. As he walked down the hall, the torches on either side of him, lit as he past. He always wondered what sort of magic, allowed these to know when someone past, but question like that would only bring about a beating and he had enough of those already. At the end of the hallway was a staircase that lead up to the only room in the tower. Leading fifteen floors up, carrying his heavy bag, one would think this was a strenuous job, however, with amazing vitality, the boy began to bound up the flight of stairs.
The bag on his back meant nothing and in only minutes he had climbed nine floors. Being a member of the Nibblian race, such feats came naturally, plus it also helped that, at the stop of the stairs was one of the only benefits of his life. Upon reaching the top floor he, yet another set of doors, set in front of him. He casually walked up to the door and gently knocked on the door, waiting moment he then entered.
Squirrel boy:” Miss I returned, it’s time for your bath.”
He looked around once, and thing placed his bag on the ground, he didn’t see her, so the only place she could be, the balcony. As he approached the sun cast a shadow on the drapes that lead to the balcony, the silhouette of a woman could be seen. It was an enchanting sight; just her shadow was a thing of fairytales. The boy came out of his delusion and walked outside. Just as the silhouette foretold, a beautiful Pristyne woman set upon the balcony. As he approached, she turned and smiled.
Pristyne woman: “Ekorn, I did not here you come in, since when did you arrive?”
Ekorn: “J-Just, a moment ago, It’s time again for your bath.”
Pristyne woman: “Is that time already, my, how time flies.”
The pristyne woman rose from her position and headed inside, Ekorn, step aside so she may enter and then entered as well. He went over to his pack and emptied it of its contents. A single crystal the size Ekorn’s head was produce, a flowing crystal, capable of producing gallons of water with a touch. Setting the crystal to hover above the bath, he turned back to the woman only to find her completely nude, he quickly covered his eyes, the pristyne woman took notice of this and giggle.
Pristyne Woman: “Come now Ekorn, you’ve seen me plenty of times, am I not appealing, are you disappointed?”
Ekorn: “O-Of course, t-that is impossible.”
She was a stunning thing to be hold, white fur coated her body, like silk that flowed from head to tail, a cute face, and eyes a golden brown, all complimented her model like figure, if any man was disappointed with her looks, he would not be in to woman. Yet with such beauty, not one man has ever laid eyes upon her, no man besides her father, and of course Ekorn. She loved to tease him, she was always alone in this tower and Ekorn’s daily visit were the only entertainment she received. Every time she would tease him this way. She loved his reactions, it always made her feel beautiful. Ekorn kept his eyes covered, not because he did not want to see but, if he left here feeling aroused, he sure the wolves would notice.
Ekorn: “Pl-please Miss?”
Pristyne Woman: “Ekorn, I am as much a prisoner as you, no need for such formalities, how many times must I say this, it’s Viviana”
Ekorn: “M-Miss please, let me do much job”
Viviana: “No, not until you call me by my name, I’ll stand here, naked.
Ekorn: “Why must we, go through this process every time, can’t you be just a little bit more cooperative.”
Viviana: “Why can’t you, just call me by my name, Hmph.”
Ekorn: “*Sigh*, Viviana please, your bath.”
She smiled, finally getting her way, but she pushed further and flop down to the floor.
Viviana: “Oh no, I’m so weak, there is no way I can make all the way over to the bath.”
Ekorn: “You know what- “
Viviana: “Please~?”
She held out her arms, beckoning Ekorn to come. He sighed heavily and submitted. Viviana would not give in until he gave her what she wanted. Lifting her from the floor, he carried her over the short distance to the bath, she nuzzles his face and purred. He didn’t truly dislike what she did to him, yet some lines should not be cross. Viviana was of a rare breed amongst the Pristyne, being a “Ligress”, her very existence was taboo. Mix breeding, was without doubt the worst crime that could be committed amongst the Pristyne, if not for her natural talented and her father being the current leader, she would not have lived this long. Though she will spend her life entirety in this tower and the only contact she will make with the outside world, is Ekorn. Though that depends entirely on Ekorn, so long as he doesn’t cross any lines, though most of the time, Viviana makes this endeavor quite difficult.
Sitting her down in the tub he walked over to the bag and pulled out a small container. Pouring the contents into his hand, he worked the lather into her scalp and down her back, his hand gliding across her fur with gentle precision. Viviana adored every second of this, even more today than usual, she was unusually happy. Usually through her flirtatious play, there was a solemn demeanor, but today she was genuinely upbeat.
Ekorn: “You seemed to be in a cheerful mood.”
Viviana: “Really, well, to tell you the truth, I have some good news.”
Ekorn: “Oh, and what is this good news?”
Viviana: “I’m not telling~”
Ekorn: “What, if you won’t tell me then it’s not news, it’s a secret, and we agreed there would be no secrets between us, did we not?”
Viviana: “That agreement, is only necessary, when I need information.”
Ekorn: “The agreement, works both ways.”
Viviana: “How about a different deal?
Ekorn: “Denied.”
Viviana: “I didn’t even say anything yet.”
Ekorn: Yeah, but I’m pretty, sure I’m not going to like it.
Viviana: “Buuuuuuuuuuuu~”
Ekorn ignored Viviana’s chatter and dump some water over her head, washing away the soap. Shake the water from her face, she was hit with inspiration.
Viviana: “Then, how about you join me?”
Ekorn: “Also, denied.”
Viviana puff out her cheeks. Ekorn turn to grab a brush, Viviana immediately, turned the flowing crystal on Ekorn, dousing him in cold water.
Ekorn: “Why you, I’m gonnaaaaaaachhhooooo!”
Viviana: Look like someone’s coming down with a cold, you should out of those wet clothes and into a nice warm bath~ “
Ekorn glared at Viviana, getting sick was one thing he could not afford to be and she knew it. He reluctantly undressed.
Viviana: “*Whistle*”
Ekorn: “C-Cut it out.”
Viviana giggled as Ekorn finished undressing and walked over to the bath. One way or another, it always turned out like this, Viviana always got what she wanted from Ekorn. The second he was in the tub, Viviana pounced, grabbing him and pulling him in close and holding him down. Ekorn try to pry himself away, but it was useless.
Ekorn: “Why, must we always end up like this, you know we are not allowed to do such things.”
Viviana: “Do you hate this?”
Ekorn: I…………I don’t hate it.”
Viviana: Than it’s okay.” *splash* *grasp*
Ekorn: “H-Hey, w-what you doing?”
Viviana smiled deviously.
Viviana: “You cleaned me, now, I’ll clean you. ♡”
Ekorn: “HEY, NO, UGHN, MMN, WAIT, STOP, AH, HEY, YOU’RE ONLY FOCUSING ON THAT ONE SPOT.

Viviana stretch out across her bed, all her stress from the week now gone. Ekorn laid with his head face down, he had given up fighting her, allowing her do as she pleases.
Ekorn: “We have to stop doing these things, someday we’ll get caught.”
Viviana: “Being caught will not be a problem soon.”
Ekorn: “What do you mean, another vision?”
Ekorn looked up at Viviana, who expression was so serious, so focused, it must be really important.
Ekorn: “Viviana?”
Viviana: “We…….will be taken away.”
Ekorn jumped up, in shock of this revelation. Had they been found out, he knew this day would come, but was hoping it would have more time.
Ekorn: “We must escape.”
Viviana: “What?”
Viviana stared at him confused, she realized her wording brought about a misunderstanding.
Viviana: “Ekorn, you misunderstand what I said, we should wait to be taken.”
Ekorn: “What, you want to be killed!?”
Viviana: “No, not killed, abducted.”
Ekorn: Huh?”
Viviana crawled in close, whispered into his ear, what she saw in her vision.
Ekorn: “WHAT, ORIGNNNNNMMMMMMPHHH!?”
Viviana quickly cover his mouth, in fear that someone might hear him. Once he calmed down she released him.
Ekorn: “When did you find this out!?”
Viviana: “Earlier today, not to long before you arrived.”
Ekorn: “Wait, how do you know it’s “Origin?”
Viviana: “It was “Origin”.
Ekorn: “Your vision showed, us being taken by the wielder of Origin?”
Viviana: “All I truly know is that he, was Origin and the figure I saw was a Lycanian.”
Ekorn: “……………..A Lycanian?”
Viviana: “Yes, a dark-skin Lycanian.”
Ekorn: “………............”
Viviana: “Ekorn, aren’t you excited?”
Ekorn: “Uh yeah, I was thinking, this explains why you were much bolder than usual, but we still can’t afford to be found out, not just yet.”
Viviana: Yes, I apologize, I was just so excited to see you and tell you, we will be able to leave this place, but I wasn’t thinking.
Viviana felt a little dejected, her actions could cause real problems for Ekorn, he could lose his head. Ekorn didn’t like seeing Viviana upset.
*Smooch*
Viviana: *Gasp*, Ekorn!?”
Ekorn got up, his face as red as Viviana’s.
Ekorn: “When we are free, we can do as we please…..so until then, be satisfied with that.”
Viviana was pleasantly surprise by the kiss. Ekorn had never initiated and she was audibly happy. Ekorn begin to pack everything up for his trip back to his room.
Ekorn: “If you had such good news, why’d you look so serious earlier?”
Viviana: “Earlier…………oh that, well while you were laying on the bed, your butt was sticking out of the towel, I was so focused, I forgot what we were talking about for a moment, such a cute butt.
Ekorn was at the door, ready to leave the pervert to herself.
Viviana: “Huh, wait Ekorn, don’t be mad, there’s nothing wrong with having a cute, little, butt.♡”
Ekorn: “SHUT UP!”
Ekorn rushed back down the stairs, as he descended, he could still hear her, talking about his backside from half way down. Reaching the bottom, he knocked on the door for the guards to let him out. He bowed in thanks, before heading away, keeping his down so the guards won’t notice his expression. He calmed down after a while, his mind wonder over to everything Viviana told him, it was all ludicrous. For the first time, ever, her visions were wrong. What she said made absolutely no sense.
Ekorn: “How can a Lycanian, of all things, possibly come to save us, the entire race was wiped out thousands of years ago.”

The American Dream: An Alternate, Time-Travel Timeline
Due to a mysterious transcendent being, United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant Samuel Kim from the year 2016 is thrown back in time to the year 1775. To make matters worse, he wakes up near Bunker Hill, mere hours before the famed Battle of Bunker Hill is set to begin. Realizing the unique situation he finds himself in, the lieutenant takes the opportunity to change the fate of the battle and ensure an overwhelming American victory. Guided by his "patronizing" "God" and the American revolutionaries, Lieutenant Kim embarks on a journey to help America gain its independence and to ensure the nation uphold its "most promising" ideals from the very beginning. Author's Warning: The story is very rough in the first few chapters (and as some readers pointed out, some parts are laughable, such as "American idealism"). However, the pace and quality of the story improves from chapter four and onwards. You will enjoy the story if you have some interest in history, worldbuilding, and the butterfly effect (along with a few badass characters). So even if you are a bit turned off in the beginning, I promise that the story improves quickly.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
