Well it seems this fairy won’t be up for a while. I can’t just leave her unattended either, in case of an emergency. Well, I guess it’s finally time to address the personnel problem. I know that Yuna has become quite strong, but just giving in to dependence seems foolish to me. I’ve also learned something about having an avatar body. So after some initial scouting is done, I could even explore the area around my dungeon as well. I’ll also be able to learn what level of understanding people have of dungeons. But to stay safe while scouting, I’ll need more forces, and thus I’m back at the personnel problem. I’d also need guards to hide this part of the cave as I doubt that Yuna will allow me to go out alone.

First off is to give this little fairy a guardian. Since I’m a lot stronger now, let's bring out a true kitsune. After all, those lesser kitsune might not be able to handle scouting tasks either as they are still pretty much foxes, just with some fire power. They’re good as beasts in the dungeon, but I think that this job will require a lot more than simple combat. Their strengths also need them to be grouped together to start making a meaningful difference. I lack the space to have an army of them, as well as the fact that that would draw in more attention that I could handle.

Checking my status after creating the new Kitsune, I take note that it takes 50 mana to create a single-tailed kitsune. It also felt a little faster than the time with Yuna. Considering that this is an increase of a multiple of 10 as the mana cost... that’s crazy! Would the next level be a 250 or 500? The first increase from fox to the lesser kitsune was by 5, this one was 10. Then could the next amount be 750? But then what would the next one be? Wait, then how strong was that orc to raise Yuna to three tails!? I feel like my head is spinning… I’m a crystal though.

Back to what I should be doing, I order the new Kitsune to be the fairies guardian. The duties of said job will be to watch over her, protect her, and keep her hidden. With this, even if she desires to explore the surroundings, the pair should be able to move without being detected. Well, with my remaining 450 mana I’ll create an additional 5 to be scouts. Resisting the urge to name them, I order them to scout the surroundings of the entrance of the cave and to return by night time. I feel slightly worried about if they know when nighttime is, but after having Yuna be a source of information I think I can trust in their knowledge for simple things like this. I also instruct them to remain hidden and return straight away if they spot any encampments. I wouldn’t know if an encampment was there prior, but if it’s within a day’s distance from the entrance of my dungeon, then I might have a fair amount of problems in the near future.

When it comes to information, the fairy may know some things about the nearby area, but she’s not in a state to be able to give out any information. The Kitsune that I assigned to her has curled up with the fairy resting upon her. I’m glad to see that the new Kitsune are taking to this so well. I’m even able to tell them apart somehow. It likely has to do with mana or something like that. Well, it just means that I can properly take note of how well they do. Although I may not be able to name them all, I’ll be sure to reward those that make great achievements.

For now, I will just have to wait. Perhaps I shouldn’t have used every bit of my mana for scouts and saved some to expand a bit. Well, with this free time I could come up with some interesting plans for the near future. Exploring the outside world and gaining an understanding on who may be invading is vital. I don’t want to be so close to losing everything again… I can’t just wait to grow, I’ll need to find ways to become stronger!
