A chained and annoyed Laura was brought into the square. Temperance pointed “Behold the greatest evil this world may ever have seen. Behold the arch demoness Laura. Gaze upon the foulest of the foul as we whip her for her evil” A guard holding Laura pulled out a massive bull whip. Temperance pointed to the heavens. “Witness the scourging of the evil one. As we do what her father should have.Punish her for her sins”

Laura seemed to glow red “No one is spanking me.” Laura jumped onto the nearest guard and ripped out his throat. Then her chains lashed out at Temperance and smashed into her head. There was a crack and Temperance hit the ground dead. Laura glared at the crowd. “No one is spanking me. Well except that skeleton or Ronan but there scary.”

Twenty guards jumped onto Laura and dragged her kicking and screaming to the post where a trembling guard gave her the lashes she was due.

You will never guess what happened they publicly whipped Laura. She is here tears pouring down her face. The guards are even now pointing crossbows at us and looking terrified. A couple of thieves were lowered down today and one fainted when he saw Laura.

Apparently Laura got loose and killed a couple of guards and the high inquisitor. What idiot let someone with enhanced strength and the berserk ability out in loose chains? I bet they are kicking themselves right about now. It will take a couple of months for the resurrection spell to summon the inquisitor back from the dead. If of course they actually use the spell. There are a bunch of Paladins and priests on the waiting list before her.

Hurry up with my ransom I have a bad feeling about what is going to happen. The new high commander was sworn in. Things are getting more organized.

High Commander of the guards daily report

The idiot that allowed a person with enhanced strength and the berserk ability out with loose chains, has been beheaded. A lesser nobleman his family were of no importance. The major disaster here is the commoners seeing one of there own fight back successfully.

The shock waves of the dark assault on the good temples is even now still being felt. We are rebuilding. In time i am confident we can rebuild stronger than ever. However over half the guard died at the hands of Ronans skeletons. Even now carnsfort has fallen to a litch called the desecrater.

I do not have the forces to assault carnsfort and maintain control over this fine city. Even more worrying is the Goblin and Orc response. They are not behaving as they should especially in the regions controlled by Ronan. Monsters breed faster than men and I am afraid that he raising a army. A army we will all to soon have to contend with.

Diary of Sheila,

I am beginning this diary to talk about what happened. My life was a simple one up until this point. I moved buckets of what my masters called night soil pots. Why were the pots so heavy. Well they had fancy designs on them.

For sixteen hours a day I slaved away. I had a hour for eating and if I was lucky cleaning myself off before eating. At night I could hear some of the other maids i slept with sneaking off to meet boys. But I never did. How could I even chance bringing another life into this life.

The day my life changed started out like any other. I got out of the bed four of us shared and

got dressed into my only set of clothes. Then i began the backbreaking job i had been raised since birth to do. Collect the lords Piss and shit. I was cheaper than a spell as a orphan the cost of my daily food was higher than my wages.

Then I heard a commotion a black knight and a bunch of Paladins stormed into our room and dragged us all to great dining hall. A armed figures surrounded the local lord who was weeping with his wife. The one that somehow radiated menace moved forward and starred at us maids. Then he spoke and it was like the darkness itself was whispering in my ear. “Welcome you are welcome Sheila my daughter. Long have I searched for you. Come child.”

I can not remember much after that as I gazed into my fathers eyes for the first time. I think some of the other maids might have dragged the mistress off and tossed her into the cesspit. The master got off lightly. He might have been a bit of a pervert but if you were pretty and messed a simple sorry sir got you off the hook.

Now I am in a camp with my fellow maids training. I am learning magic. My father gave me this book yesterday and told me to use it. One quick spell later and i can read and write. I also got to share this awesome ring with my fellow maids. It is called the cursed ring and it makes you stronger.

Dad how weird is it to say dad got a magical call from a skeleton. It wants to rescue Laura. It asked dads advice. Apparently it has two plans for her rescue. One burn the city to the ground and attack the castle during the confusion. It gave my dad its first plan. I could tell dad was impressed. Especially as the plan could actually work. Two dig her out. Dad told the skeleton to go with this one. It could always burn the city to the ground if this plan failed.

Dad said that some idiot called the witchlord underestimated the skeleton and is now in hiding. He told me the plans the skeleton had for the witchlord. I am surprised the witchlord is on still on the same continent as the skeleton. Dad says when the skeleton asked for glue he would do what he claimed he would do. As a skeleton he does not understand things like mercy or compassion.

My dad was looking younger today he told me it was because he reached level 375. Apparently if he reaches level 425 he can become like the witchlord. A being capable of being summoned back from the grave. of course you can only take the level of the body your summoned into. A level 500 witchlord in a level 375 body is a level 375 witchlord.

Skeleton

This is not the best i have got a free Laura Quest. While I took the other quests immediately I decided to think about the free Laura. Did i own Laura for creating me yes. Would I pay a little to get her back yes. Was i going to put my neck on the block for her hell no. I now had minions. Still maybe if i killed everybody in the city she was imprisoned in i could rescue her. A fire or two a plague and Laura would be safe.

I decided that i would send Lion off first. A quick bribe might have her free. Humans could be amazingly greedy. If not I would at least try and get her released legally. If she was on trial i could hire a lawyer. It all that failed then I could poison the humans and set fire to there city. In the confusion i would attempt a rescue. I had minions now I could have them rescue Laura for me. I was kind of rich time to let my underlings do some of the work for me.

Lion was actually very concerned about Laura. Well she had her soul bound to a crystal so I did not see what the big deal was. She would return as a Litch. A small Litch who would never grow. But what did that matter.

Laura mother Elise brought along her Lauras two brothers and yelled at me. No daughter of hers was coming back as a litch. The Elizabeth came around and explained i had better rescue Laura . If not her father Jarold not help me set up my smugeling ring. Plus Laura would evolve slower as a Litch. I might as well attempt to rescue Laura.

I used a spell to contact Ronan who explained the situation. He explained I needed were a couple of Giant worms and Laura was as good as free. He would give me a foolproof plan. But i needed to complete the other Quests. Or at least complete the steal weapons quest.

Well there was no way i was risking my head and going straight in for a fight. Roinin would have a good idea on how to get started. I reached out and created a dark quest.

Roinin help the descrator skeleton break laura out of prison.

Optional Will need to destabilize weapon shipments to city to make quest easier.

The quest would allow Roinin to access his map with pointers to the weapons being stored I was going to delegate. He could have the weapons i would gain the experience from the quest.

In the meantime i had a skeleton to check out. Elizabeth informed me that two of the skeletons left in the swamp Todds swamp had shown signs of evolving. They had new traits and one had developed a new ability mask presence.

I moved into the swamp and noticed all the poisonous toads. There were a load all female. I guess Todd had forced all the male to become female and then gotten on with it. I noticed that the three skeletons i had left here had evolved somewhat. One moved forward and i noticed that it was the leader.

Leader skeleton> Your the one that created us?

me>Sort of i had you created here to help the Toads out with everything. Do you wish to leave?

Leader skeleton>I am content here the others do not talk or think about things. But I look at the swamp in wonder. It is my home and I am content here.

Me>Fair enough I suppose. I will have a greater ice mage created and sent out here to be your underling. A normal summoned skeleton breaks down after a few weeks. One like you and me crafted from actual skeletons are more durable. We can last for years and each time you level up you start from scratch again. I could also send a dead knight you should increase your fighting skills as well. Is there anything else you want?

Leader skeleton> those other two do not like to talk and i am having trouble talking to the toads. My language skill are not there. Todd came by and we seemed to be able to talk. I would like someone to talk to.

Me>Yeah your advancing fine. I will have Elizabeth give you a name. Trust me you do not want to be stuck with the descrator.

Leader skeleton>Do you wish to stay a while? I Can point out the beautiful parts of the swamp. Soon the flies will be coming out. We are undead they will not byte us. Stay and watch the beauty of nature

ME>Why not.

Quest 1 Steal weapons. Ronin had a few suggestions about this one. It would help him and me. So i figured he wanted this attack to go smoothly. At least he was competent unlike those idiots good paladins. Ronin hired blackjack and his crew. Then I swam under his boat and used a ice spell to cling on. It was annoying but i had to be under the center of the boat. This was to limit the detect dead spell the local wizard would be using.

As the location we were raiding was so far out i had to stay glued to the boat for a full day. It was quite hard to look around. My dark vision helped but it had a limited range. Still it was quite a nice ride. I stayed put while we sailed off. It was irritating not to be able to use spells to check what was going on. But it was a must that we did not alert the locals to the fact there was a powerful undead under the ship. Blackjack had been given a thousand dark points. He would create a quest get out of there skeleton if anything bad happened.

We finally sailed into the small port where the weapons were being stored. As I did not feel any quests being created i stayed put. Blackjack would hopefully bribe the locals to load the weapons into a separate warehouse I would burn the port during the night to hide the theft. Then Blackjack would sail back into the port and have the weapons loaded up. If the theft was discovered it was a simple error. Blackjacks goods being stored where the weapons should be.

I swam under the water to the pier. I was glad i had adsorbed the swim ability. Otherwise i would have been forced to walk along the mud at the bottom of the ocean. I stayed put near the pier and waited. It was not long before night fell.

I got to work and summoned ten skeleton archers. Next came the attack squad 20 greater ice mages and 12 skeleton warriors. The warriors would slow down any attacks and burn the warehouses. The skeleton mages would use magic to kill any guardsmen they came across.

I decided to sit this one out. I cast possession on one of the Greater ice mages. I Looked threw my constructs eyes. If i could have grinned i would have. In this form I would be able to cast most of the spells it could. But if this body was damaged i could jump out of it to my old body.

I ordered the archers to prepare fire arrows. One of them pulled open a barrel that Blackjack had left for me. They would wrap the arrows they had with small pieces of linen soaked in oil. The barrel also contained spare arrows and a couple of fire scrolls. The Archers could set fire to the barrel with the scrolls and shoot them into the warehouses.

Looking threw the eyes of my possessed skeleton i noticed something was wrong. The warehouse had a faint holy aura around it. I stopped the skeleton force and used a incantation to view the warehouses in different visions. Detect life showed up a number of living being just inside the warehouse and surrounding my force of skeletons.

It was most definitely a trap. I tried to pull open my mental map but found i could not. I guess the body i was inhabiting did not have that skill. I gave the skeletons orders and they took position, the skeleton warriors would try and slow down attackers. The Mages would use the warriors as shields and cast freezing spells on them. Skeleton were immune to cold damage. They would ignore the damage.

I released control of the skeleton mage I had been controlling and returned to my own body. Then I created 4 greater skeleton warriors and one greater skeleton mage on the pier. Then I ordered the skeleton archers to shoot flaming arrows into the warehouses. The arrows arched into the air and struck there targets. It was almost time for me to leave but before I went I created six lesser skeletons and ordered them to take torches and set fire to as much as possible. Two set to burn the local boats. The other four were sent to burn as much of the port down as they could.

My senses ranged out and I felt all 20 of my skeleton mages release icy bolts. Each spell cast 1-20 bolts. That meant someone was getting between 20 and 400 bolts fired at them. I swam off to sea and created a dark quest from the list I had mesmerized.

There were a lot of other dark quest options 60 in all. But number 4 was the one I choose. Getting picked up was a priority. Location 2 was far at sea. I did not want to have to wait.

High Commander report.

Ronan struck last night. Reports are only now coming in but it looks like all our forces outside the city were crushed. All our mercenaries ran and are still running. It looks like Ronan was given the location of our weapons cache. He knew where they were and where they were headed. This gave him enough information to get a general idea of our forces lay out. A standard general might have been able to hit one maybe two outposts. However Ronan experience and genius can clearly be seen. Not only did he rout our troops from heavily defended positions but his losses were less than 50 monsters.

Ronan main force struck during the night and using a forced march attacked five of our outposts in one night. By the time morning came our forward outposts were gone. Reports indicate he is sending sizable forces to destroy our remaining outposts. However these are forces not really loyal to Ronan. While i am certain our forces will weaken these monster tribes, Ronan forces will only be strengthened by there surivors.

I hate to state the fact but I fell i must. We have just lost barring a miracle. Ronan forces are organized and somewhat disciplined. The local lords outside the city are in disarray. We can not field a force large enough to take and hold even Carnsfort. I believe our best course of action is a deal with Ronan. I know this is a political nightmare. However i fell i must point out Ronan has a force perhaps equal to our own. He is not limited by a area he must defend. His forces continue to grow. Now is the time to bow to his demands.

On a lesser note I fell the time is not right to execute Stone. I know that the fat lord he robbed has given a number of complaints about this. However stone is with Laura and it would worsen moral if she went insane again. The guards already fear her enough as it is.

I know that there is a certain fat lord who rumor said got molested. I know that stone set him and his wife and daughters loose naked. Also the rumor that he was assaulted but his daughters and wife left alone has made him irritable. So have the rumors that he can not sit down because his arse has been destroyed. But the moral of my men is at rock bottom. They are terrified of Laura. Stone is keeping her in line. The fat lord whose name i will not mention can wait.

Authors note. i plan on having another 3 - 4 chapters before the end of this arc. then i intend to jump forward 10 or so years into the future

i had planned on having a dungeon in this story a place for the skeleton to make gold. this did not work out. So i am planning a side story after i finish the current arc.

i am thinking monster guild a human boy aged 11 - 12 joins the monster guild which will be a guild like the adventures set up by ronan. he will be trying to keep a dungeon going that adventures use to level up. maybe doing some quests for the monster guild. any suggestions would be helpful
