Seth was ready to start hunting rats, and after observing them for over an hour he had figured it out, The Snails was eaten by insects, the insects become luminescent for a short while after and then disappearing from view. The rats protected the Snails by eating the insects before they could eat the snails. And the reason the snail's shell was luminescent was because of the wet moss they were eating, it would start laminating as it was eaten by the snails. What was eating the rats? Seth though, but so far the only other thing he had seen in the caves where flying rats, sorry bats.
Seth was lurking closer, holding the pickaxe up and ready to strick, holding completely still waiting for the movement of the rats to be visible, and, and. The pickaxe was slammed down against a rat, sparks were flying as he hit some rocks. Not moving or making a sound Seth slowly repositioned himself for another strick. Again he closed the gap and with all his weight behind the strick, a soft crunchy sound could be heard.
With that single rat, he leveled again. He simply distributed every stat evenly before continuing to hunt the rats, and as his stats and the skill level for Shadow-Eyes increased hunting both the rats, insects, and snails become much easier. Every Skill level made it easier to see further and clearer, and it was already at level 5. Seth did not stop before he had killed everything he could find close the entry point.
He had total count after the hours hunting totaled:
Shadow-Rats: 35
Luminescent-Snails: 52
Luminescent-Insects: 130
For a total of; 41140 Exp.
But this had taken a heavy toll on him, he was hungry and out of food and drink and almost drained of Stamina, both from the use of the pickaxe and . But now he had leveled Evolved up to Lvl 14 and Sh-BattleMage to Lvl16, and buying the skills for Evolved;

Sarah was in her bed, wishing Seth would find his way back soon. She started being afraid that he had just left her, or worse something had happened to him. Tomorrow she was being forced to the city, she was to attend a prestigious healing institution, she was to change her profession and start a new. She hoped dearly that Seth would make it back before that and that they could start the journey together.
She could hear a heavy knock on the door in the living room, "Good evening", her father said.
"Good evening", A dark manly voice said.
"What can we help you with this evening?" Harold asked very politely, strangely polite.

"Are you ready? we need you to come with us right away, the situation is a little more urgent than expected, you still have the deed?" The voice asked
"No, I do not, but the boy who has it is in mine-shaft and should return soon"
"You gave it away, you could pass it on?! Was it not restricted and the only way was to pass it on was after death to the next of kind?" the man asked puzzled and not in the least amused about this change.
"No, Only those that are a free citizen can accept the responsibility freely" Harold continued, keeping his voice low.
"So wait, you are saying you found someone else to take the deed in your place, and you have lost him?"
"No, he will return, I made of it sure, he is in love with my daughter, he will return and then he will be yours and so will the deed."
"What is his name?"
"Seth, and no family name"
"Interesting, boys grab his daughter and take her back, and let us motivate her father so he gets the message nice and clear"
Sarah was shocked at what she heard, and before she could do much her door was kicked in, and so was the door into the other bedroom, her mother screaming. Sarah was forced down, hands toughing, forcing there way, she tried to scream but a hand was making it even hard to breathe.
"Don't spoil her yet boys" As the voice said so he looked over at her father "They will continue where they left off if you don't bring this Seth too us soon..." the treat was crystal clear, a rag was force feed into Sarah's mouth and a bag was forced over her head.

Ortus
A woman wakes up in a forest, naked, alone, and injured. She has nothing but a strange, black dagger and mysterious, floating, blue boxes to aid her. Can she find food and water? Survive the deadly animals? Escape the forest? Learn about the life-altering magic the boxes provide her? She has to use her wits, her knowledge, and maths to do so. But first, baby steps. She doesn't even understand the language, yet. If you see any maths mistakes or strange story decisions, leave a comment and I will either fix it or consider changing it. This is also, essentially, a first draft. That means I will edit older chapters and nothing is final, including numbers. Any major changes are listed in the changelog below each chapter. Since this is a first draft, the start is noticably bad and inconsistent compared to the more recent chapters so you will have to endure that to get to the good stuff. Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
