《A Gun is the Strongest Weapon in a Fantasy World!》Chapter 8

After returning to his room, Hisoka had time to think over the cluster fuck that was their previous quest. It likely would have been fine had he not instructed her to act as a rearguard with an unfamiliar weapon platform. As a result, she ended up wounded badly. Thankfully the kind healer had been able to mend her injuries and even broken ribs. Nonetheless, he put her in an unnecessarily risky situation, and for that, he felt extremely guilty.
One of the main problems he faced was only having the shotgun, which produced spread that wasn't exactly suited for saving someone surrounded by enemies. He had the .44, but the more he considered the weapon the more he doubted the choice to summon it. The revolver was a fine weapon, albeit with sever kick, however, the 8-inch barrel was completely unnecessary and flashy. Not to mention it was limited to a measly 6 rounds before a reload that was lengthier than most handguns. The solution was obvious if he were to run the shotgun as his main weapon he needed a strong backup he could rely on, and he had one in mind.
He sported a devilish grin in anticipation as he summoned the .45 caliber pistol used by SOCOM, the renowned MK 23 by Heckler and Koch. It was said that in testing it took over 30,000 rounds of overpressure ammo before it crumped and that it went 6,000 rounds between stoppage. It was no wonder it was SOCOM's pistol of choice. Even with its large size it was comfortable in his hands, and unlike other oversized weapons like the desert eagle, the recoil was not too severe and handling was overall a nice experience. Not to mention, it's accuracy was well praised even as a pistol.
"Kiene Kompromise," he chuckled to himself looking at the 12 round .45 caliber example of German engineering before him.
The weapon came with 3 magazines loaded to bear with .45 FMJ rounds. He grinned as he looked at the sleek weapon. His only problem being his lack of a holster.

He left his room, checked that Misumi was still sleeping soundly, and headed downstairs.
"Could you do me a favor and tell my companion that I went out to shop if she happens to wakeup?" Hisoka politely asked the receptionist.
She gave a nod and he headed out onto the town.
"Hey isn't that the guy that bagged 200 slimes and demolished a goblin den?"
"Yeah I saw him at the guild when he dropped off the slime core fragments"
Hisoka heard people muttering about him as he passed by their gazes. He paid it no mind as he had business to attend to, and in reality, there isn't much you can do about such rumors.
He walked down the street admiring the medieval Europe-like architecture before he finally came upon what he had been looking for. There in front of him stood a leatherworks, and inside was a cheery man at the counter. Hisoka walked in admiring the finely crafted saddles, belts, and surprisingly enough even wallets. The man at the counter had busied himself working on a worn-down saddle that needed some love.
The man noticed Hisoka, who gave a nod
"How can I help you lad?" asked the man with a smile.
"Hi I was wondering if you could make a holster for this," he drew the MK 23 from his storage. He proceeded to explain what he meant by "holster", as it was a term not known by the people of this world that lacked firearms. It took him a while but when he eventually described it as a sheath type thing for the device he held the man seemed to understand.
"Hmm, that shouldn't be too much of a problem, do you have a belt to wear it with?"
Hisoka shook his head and the man brought out a couple of gray stained leather belts. Hisoka admired the craftsmanship and decided to purchase one after making sure it fits properly. He then presented one of the magazines he had emptied and asked the man to make 3 pouches that would contain these and fit onto the belt. The man scratched his chin before nodding.

Seeing as it was a custom job that would depend on the dimensions of the objects, the man told Hisoka the best product would require the objects for reference. Hisoka hesitated, but there wasn't much the man could do with an unloaded firearm that he saw merely as a blocky piece of metal. Hisoka lay the weapon and empty magazine on the table next to 3 gold coins to pay for the custom leatherwork. The man smiled and assured him it would be done in a day or so.
Having accomplished what he had come there to do, Hisoka headed towards the guild to retrieve his rewards. Seeing as there were already rumors spreading about his subjugation of the goblin den he figured the guild must have sent representatives to check the scene already.
He walked down the street before coming before a familiar large building. He walked in and was greeted by the smiling receptionist.
"Here to collect your reward I presume?" she cheerfully asked.
"If there are no problems with the results then yes," he responded curtly.
She slightly pouted but brought forward the reward of 20 silver, and went over his guild rank.
"By taking a D-rank eradication request, your adventurer rank has progressed by 50 points out of 350 to progress to D rank," she briefly explained after updating his card.
He frowned slightly as it had only taken 100 points to move past F-rank.
Seeing his expression she quickly explained, "Ah I see you are perplexed about the advancement requirements. F-rank is easy to surpass, as it is really only there as a way to differentiate between gatherer's and those who truly wish to go out and prosper as adventurers," She explained, "Gathering requests offer very little in terms of advancement, however even basic combat quests should leave you at least 25 points. As for the goblins, they are rather easy foes that are seen more as pests than monsters," She stated.
Hisoka's expression darkened as he remembered the bad shape of his comrade after facing these "pests". He turned and walked towards the exit in a sour mood.
"Do you not plan to take out another quest?" the receptionist asked.
He paid her no mind and simply left the building before returning to the inn. He checked in once more and saw Misumi sleeping soundly as he had left her. He quietly closed her door as to not disturb her rest and retired to his room.
He began to wonder about his next course of action. Of course, he could continue with the adventurer crap, but he desired something with more substance. It was then he remembered what Misumi had said about him granting her strength, and wondered,
[Granted her strength for what exactly?]
He was curious about it but he remembered her expression when she had talked about it, and decided prying into her past may not be a wise choice.
Before he went to bed for the night, he gave his stats a brief check, as he had not seen what had risen after the goblin eradication.
