《A Gun is the Strongest Weapon in a Fantasy World!》Prologue

Hisoka Iwamoto was a rather cold individual. He wasn't attractive nor was he ugly; with his black hair, average height, and average build. He wasn't athletic but he wasn't overweight either. That said, however, he was considered weak by his peers. He didn't have any friends, and you could perhaps go as far as to call him antisocial.
However, the man had a couple of things he held above all else, his military simulators and his love for military firearms. He would immerse himself for hours on end weekly with his different groups across different platforms. He didn't consider himself extremely into the way the military functioned no, he just loved what they did. He respected the JSDF, but as they were primarily a defensive group, he turned his eyes to countries that tended to stay on the offensive, the U.S. in particular.
He cared not for the politics, nor for the moral grounds of wars they fought, but instead for their immense arsenal of military equipment. They created many classic firearms, like the M16, for example, and had many capable weapons of war. From their small arms to their MBTs, they didn't seem to be lacking anything.
Unfortunately, in Japan civilians could not own firearms. Even in America, firearms are regulated to an extent. Wielding automatic weapons, therefore, could only remain a dream.
He was often reminded that in fact, he was only 18, and as such he had to do something more with his life than to continue to play around on his war games, that he eventually had to make something of himself. His personality was his downfall in this, as he hardly got along with other people and couldn't play the corporate game. He just couldn't fathom sucking up to someone or even just calmly sitting by to be yelled at and just take it. Therefore he was undecided about what to do with his life.

His intelligence wasn't an issue. He had gone through high school maintaining a high B average, and people often chastised him about how he could achieve even higher if only he applied himself. So college wasn't too big of a leap to consider, but what to study? Once again he didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, and he certainly didn't want to go through college for something he didn't consider pursuing.
With all these thoughts occupying his mind, he continued on his stroll to the grocery store to buy something quick for dinner. As he walked absentmindedly he made his way to the crosswalk, where he noticed only a few people were gathered. He noticed a glint out of the corner of his eye and looked over to the shine to see what it was. In doing so he missed the crosswalk go green, but he was being curious and discovered the source of the lustrous shine, a silver coin with nothing on either face. Puzzled, but realizing the crosswalk was almost done with their turn, he pocketed the coin to inspect closer later once he made it home.
As he realized there wasn't enough time for him to cross the street safely, he chided himself for becoming distracted by such a mundane thing. As he huffed and sighed to himself he gazed out into the street, whereupon he noticed a truck swerving in almost a drunken manner. Oh no, he has seen this cliche in many of the things he had read in his free time. He carefully backed away, but not before noticing the women absentmindedly slowly crossing the street even though the light for the cars had turned green. After all, she was on her phone with earplugs in.
[Oh for fucks sake] thought Hisoka as he tried to yell out for her to warn of the oncoming traffic.

"Hey lady! Lady look out!!" he shouted to no avail.
At this point, the truck was dangerously close, and for a peculiar reason, he felt the urge to save her. At the moment it happened he didn't realize it himself, but later he would frown at his out of character action.
He rushed forward as fast as he could, and in the nick of time shoved her out of the way. However, not in time to clear the distance himself.
