《My Hermit Life》Chapter 3

Solomon's first day in his new world was a pretty good one. After he woke up his parents talked with him some more then they took him around to some of their friend's homes. The Forest of Giant's, the region they lived in, held many different clans of mythical and powerful races. God Monkey's and Ancient Dragon's were only two of the clans inside of the forest. The forest held God Fighters, Fist Boars, Orcs, Fae, and many other different races. Fist Boars were allied with both of Solomon's Parent's clans same with Orcs. God Fighter's were basically Titans from Earth mythology. Fae were neutral.
Shie and Han took Solomon to visit some of their best friends including the Harpy queen. The Harpy were a small clan that lived on a single mountain, despite being so small they were still very powerful and threatening. Outside of the forest the Harpies were feared for the fact that they would often go out and steal an entire villages worth of men. Harpies were an all female race, so many of them would kidnap men from various races in order to impregnate themselves. The Harpy queen was a giant woman who had two pairs of angel wings on her back. Her hands were claws as were her feet. The queen once tried mating with Han, but Shie and her had a fight to decided. After that they stayed as friends and the queen settled for a different God Monkey mate that Han had recommended to her.
Apart from visiting the queen Han, Shie, and Solo visited two more beast like monsters. The second pair they had visited were the Ceryneian Hound and her husband, The Beast. It interested Solomon to learnt that so many creatures from his Earth's religions exist on his new world. The Beast and his wife lived inside of a small cave that only had two beds.
" Yo, what up?? Guess who it is. "
Han and Shie spoke like neighbors coming to visit. It was quite unusual.
" To what do we owe the pleasure of you two visiting? "
" Oh great, Han's here. "
The Ceryneian Hound who Solomon was told to refer to as Aunt Cery or just Aunty was very polite when greeting Solomon's parents. The Beast however was very sarcastic.
" Yep, I was recently blessed by a certain Creation Goddess and decided to bring my treasure and show off. "
Saying that Han pulled out Solomon from behind his back. Cery instantly jumped up and started crowding Solomon.

" OH MY GOD HE'S SO ADORABLE! When did you get him? "
" I birthed him a thousand or so years ago. "
" Why are you only bringing him around now? "
Shie then explained how Angra Spentas spent a thousand or so years implanting Solomon's soul into his new body.
" Do you think she would do the same for us? "
" Honestly I have no idea, we don't even know why she graced us with such a cute baby boy. "
Solomon spoke up at that point.
" Ms. Spentas had told me to choose two parents from a list. I just happened to choose mom and dad to be my parents. "
All four were surprised hearing Solomon speak. Cery and Beast because such a young child could could speak so easily. Shie and Han because they didn't know that there was a large chance they wouldn't have gotten a child.
" What were the other choices? "
" Umm. "
Solomon thought for a little about the list that had popped up in front of him when he was supposed to choose his parents.
" I can't remember all of the choices. But some of them were God Monkey and Ancient Dragon. Ceryneian Hound and The Beast. Valkyrie and Gorgon. Fist Boar and Grootslang. And then there was an odd choice of Realm Turtle and Harem whatever that meant. "
All four of the adult beasts were shocked.
" So you could have been my and Beasts child or Val and Susan's child. Well Damn, I did always say the Han was the luckiest. "
" Yeah, yeah, yeah. Always so pessimistic, you have a beautiful wife and are one of the most powerful non-Gods in existence. "
When he heard that Solomon started to examine Beast and Cery. Beast was a rather tall dog looking creature. His head was that of a human man that was constantly scowling. The face looked like an old Mexican man with tan skin and black hair and eyes. He could barely be considered handsome. The fur that covered the dog body was pure black, but it had tiny little flames on certain strands, they almost looked like died strands of hair. Instead of paws or hands Beast had four bird like claws that were extremely strong and menacing.
Only one word could describe Cery, pure. She had crystal like fur covering the entirety of her deer like body. Her hooves were all bronze and looked like they could crush boulders. Her antlers were a radiant silver and each branch ended in a sharp point. She had four eyes all of which resembled a humans and each one a different color. One was a light brown, one was a greenish blue, one was a light blue, and one was a yellowish translucent. She was a pure beauty.

Beast noticed Solomon examing him and his wife and so he said:
"Whats up kid, what'cha loooking at?
Solomon proceeded to explain how both Beast and Cery existed in seperate religions of his original planet. Cery was the first to talk.
"Well, more than likely there were prophets on your Earth. Even though Spentas said the Mana on your planet was sparse, it was still there. Some people are lucky enough to see past the realms of their comprehension."
"They did get some stuff right though, I am the enemy of a God called Yahweh. Though, it's because I killed his son. Cery wasn't the pet of a Goddess, but rather her sister. She was indeed captured, however. That's actually how we meet. I met the Son of God who wanted to capture her, and we fought. Obviously Cery was charmed by my dashing figure as I beat her captor, and she agreed to join me on my adventures."
Solomon was intrigured by Beasts story telling, and turned to his parents.
"Dad, how did you and mom get married?"
Han coughed embarrassedly, and the said;
"Well, your mother and I were actually an arranged marriage. However - "
At that moment Beast did a fake cough then said boring and fake coughed again.
That pissed Han off so both Beast and Han jumped and bumped heads. At the moment of their connection their wives grabbed their heads and slammed them together.
" AH! "
" What the hell Cery? "
" " Settle down you dumbos. " "
Apparently both Shie and Cery were used to their husbands antics and had long made a process to settle them down. Even if that method was violent. After playing for a while Solomon would had connected well started telling the four about his past life.
" So one of the schools favorite discipline methods was to make us hold two cups of water in each hand. If we lowered the cups more than three inches over an hour time we would be punished. They would usually slam us with stacks of paper. . . . . . .While I was in the military I am confident to say I made not only some friends I would of died for, but I think I reached the peak of human fitness on my world. I might not have been the strongest of fastest, but I could of beat anybody in a fight. . . . . . . After living with my sister for a year I left for the forest to live out the rest of my days as a hermit. My only entertainment was woodworking and sometimes some young kids would invade my property on a dare. It was always so fun scaring the hell out of them. "
Eventually he brought the conversation of himself.
" So how did you all meet? "
" Well we four used to be a group of adventurers along with three other people. We are taking you to visit two of them soon. So something that almost all Legendary Beasts do is we will leave the forest for at least a few thousand years. Well, when your mom and I were about to leave we heard rumors of a trouble making mutt and his Sister of Goddess travel companion. We decided to invite them with us, and we traveled much of this world together. When Beast fought the God whose son he killed, your mother and I were holding back his allies."
The four creatures told Solomon many stories that night. Most of them of their travels over the world. Solomon couldn't help but be enroached into the stories. They were so mystical that even the myths and legends on Earth could barely compare. Solomon couldn't understand how they did the things they did.
"So, your mom and Cery had been captured by an evil human. He would capture spouses and challenge their signifgant others to nearly impossible challenges. Well, he challenged Beast and I to dig an entire ocean in less than 100 years. It took 875,397 hours for us to dig that damn ocean, but we did it. During that year, I nearly ascended to become the God of Digging, but it was worth it to save this pretty lady right here."
Before anybody could speak more, Han stood up and said;
" Anyway we are going to take Solomon to Val and Susan, you two want to go? "
" Hell yeah! "
" Sure. "
With that the five creatures left the cave in search of Solomon's parents other teammates.

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter.
