《Phantom Demon [Moved]》Prolouge: The summoning

Inside a peculiarly decorated room, were 5 people. One old lady, who seemed as ancient as time itself, a young lady with long brown hair that looked like a fairy and three skinny old men. They were all dressed in luxurious white embroidered robes.
The old lady pointed towards a weird formation circle on the ground and told the young lady, “Even though our school has said that we won’t involve ourselves in mundane struggles, if you become a student at our school, we can protect you.” The old men all release a breath of relief. The young lady was the last person alive from the royal family and the old men, under relentless pursuit, grit their teeth and came to this school.
In this world it was a powerhouse that no one dared to anger. They hoped that their young lady could become a disciple here so that she would have the schools protection. The young lady nodded and started infusing her Qi into the formation.
It was a type of summoning formation that the founder of the school stumbled upon. It came from the ancient time countless eons ago and no one today could replicate it. The founder worked out a school system, that allowed only women to use this formation to summon a partner. If you could use the formation to summon a partner for you, you can stay in the school. If not, then the school and you were not fated to be.
As the young lady kept of pouring Qi into the formation, a sheen of sweat started to form on her forehead. After 15 minutes passed, the glow from the formation had reached it’s peak and was activated. Seeing that, everyone in the room jumped backwards instinctively.
Since they couldn’t stand the bright light from the formation, they had no other choice but to cover their eyes. When the light faded and they could look towards the formation again, there was indescribable happiness written all over the old men’s faces.
In the middle of a formation was a young man, around 16 years old, who was currently happily sleeping with a pillow under his head and a blanket covering his body.

A world where magic must be hidden from mankind is a world where mages have no reason to exist. Zara was one of them--a young woman forced to spend her days in confinement, to lessen the risks of outsiders discovering the truth. She was not human. She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom had been doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. Zara has lived most of her life with the threat of death hanging over her head, though it never averted her heightening curiosity about magic, nor the abilities innate within her. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...

Spirits, or what people usually referred to as ghosts, are something that has always been with us since ancient times. Some people are gifted to see them. However, most of us can’t see them without training. And without seeing them, we won’t believe. People only believe what they see, after all. However, I assure you, spirits are real. Spirits are always there. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they are not real. Just like people of ancient ages who can’t see bacteria or those who can’t see stars further than eyes can see, there are limits to our technology. Similarly, even though the current technology can’t prove the existence of supernatural beings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In the future, if we can develop technology so everyone can see them just like how a microscope helps us seeing micro beings, I believe everyone will believe it too. That being said, I still can’t prove their existence yet. -Raleigh Von Vlad Update daily (if possible, if not, guaranteed chapters are on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) Thanks to gej302 for the fantastic cover!
