Chapter 21
Serena examined her status and saw that her level was one. If this was an RPG-like world, this was only natural, since she hadn’t fought with anyone yet and had just entered the game.
However, a Huntress huh…
Well, indeed, she had some knowledge about animals and how to survive in the wild since she always helped her uncle in the zoo and some workers there teach her their personal knowledge sometimes…and she was even a member of the Archery Club. But are skills given somehow related to you…?
Aside from her, the other people besides her were feeling ecstatic upon seeing their status, saying ‘I’m really a hero!’ and ‘Wow this is like a Dream!’ and stuff but Serena completely ignored them. They are just people with no brains…
Being a hero isn’t always good…
Couldn’t they understand that they will be forced to fight if this goes on?
Stupid teenagers!!
Serena just followed the group for now since she didn’t feel any kind of danger and besides being in this kind of position will make the kingdom pay for her daily needs without any complaints. But for now, what really Serena wanted to know is that…
“Excuse me but can I refuse this Hero thing?”
“Eh?”
Silence immediately enveloped the entire place.
Serena felt uncomfortable from the silence but she endured it.
“I’m not really cut out for this Hero thingy and all and besides, I have a family in my original world so can I just go back?” Serena tried to appeal with a bitter smile. “I know you really need help in this world but, this wasn’t my problem you know. You have your lives but I also have my own…”
“H, Hey… aren’t you too harsh?”
A voice suddenly cut her off. It wasn’t one of the native but from the boy that was summoned together with her.
“Who the heck are you?” Serena said with a cold voice as she looked at the boy in front of her. “I don’t care if you want to play Hero but that doesn’t mean, I will go along too.”
“Wha-?!”
Seeing her eyes, the boy suddenly felt fear. He couldn’t form any words and could only point at her with his finger.
“Grrrr” at this moment, the boy finally noticed the terrifying beast beside the girl. It was glaring at him as if it was ready to attack him. At this, the boy finally felt cold sweat covering his back as he silently backs off a few steps in fear.
“P, Please wait a moment!” the self-proclaimed princess shouted.
“Enough!” a magnetic and manly voice echoed behind the princess. It was a middle-aged man wearing golden robes and a crown.
It was the king.
As the king opened his mouth, his thunderous voice seemed to have sent a shock wave through the surrounding people. Everyone upon seeing that they are not the one being called hurriedly bowed their heads.
“F, Father?!”
And, this time, the king’s expression had completely changed from one of grim seriousness to one of unyielding fortitude.
With the return of his kingly face, he started speaking. “Heroes, I am sorry for abruptly summoning you to this kind of place. But for the sake of my people, we don’t have any choice but to do it. I humbly beg for your forgiveness.”

“I didn’t mean to belittle your problem it’s just I really have my own life too. I have a family I needed to take care of in my world, so even if I wanted to help, I needed to settle mine first.” Serena said, apologetic. She doesn’t have a heart of ice but, she was also not so generous to worry about a stranger first rather than her family.
However,
“…I’m sorry…” what Serena received was only a heartfelt apology.
A heavy silence swept over the room. If one were to look at the surroundings, they were all hanging their heads down. Even the Queen and the Princess’ faces were of a poor complexion and were as if they had just eaten a bug.
The source of this was something bad. Serena had just asked to return. Then, their faces had become like this.
Then, a hypothesis had popped into her mind.
“Hey, wait. It couldn’t be…”
“I apologize, but returning you to your old world is impossible. We have not found any way to send you back…yet.”
As expected… It’s not like Serena hadn’t expected this but hearing it directly really made her lose her strength. Serena slumped on the ground.
“I’m sorry, we have already done everything just to understand the Summoning ritual and performed it… returning would be quite impossible… at least for now.” The King’s voice was gentle.
And so, together with the other heroes, Serena has no choice but to stay in this world… as for how long, she didn’t know.
And that was how they had become Heroes of the Louridia Kingdom.
--- ---
Starting that day, as what Zarda, the chief of the Amani Tribe had declared, Rain had truly become the tribe’s slave.
Even with Lafetti’s desperate opposition, she couldn’t do anything but to accept such a verdict. After all, Zarda was still the Chief of the entire Tribe. It’s not something she can easily overturn.
The one who has the most power in the tribe was none other than her, the chief, Zarda.
At first, Rain felt despaired and sorrowful for becoming a slave but as time passed by, he realized it wasn’t as bad as he thinks it would be.
Slave… was in fact just a name, a title. Not really as brutal as the one he had seen in movies and stories, where he would be treated as one, bullied, doing manual labor until he fainted from exhaustion and even not so worse as being given a simple of moldy bread and dirty water. Unlike that kind of unfortunate future, Rain was happy that he had managed to live inside the tribe, with no danger whatsoever looming around him all the time, unlike in that small pedestal.
He was given food, and shelter which is Lafetti’s personal house made of wooden planks and dried leaves similar to a nest – Though not really a proper house but it had some kind of a wall, like fences but no roof.
It really needed some renovation, but whatever.
What’s more important was that nothing had actually changed with their relationship as Rain and Lafetti still live the same way they had in that small pedestal. Flirting and flirting, and flirting every day—though, it seems like she became even more touchy and moody lately.

Not like Rain couldn’t understand what she was worrying though. After all, at this moment, since he became a slave, Zarda has been coming a lot lately and dragging him everywhere, wanting to help him get used to living within the Tribe.
“Wa, wait… what are you doing?!”
“Stop struggling,”
“Gah?! Wait, I can’t breathe…!!”
The moment he came home, he was immediately confronted by a raging Lafetti, and before he knew it, her long beautiful tail had already coiled around him. The tip even invaded his mouth—it seems like she’s really angry. She was squeezing him really tight, and even though Rain tried to struggle, even with his growing physical attributes, he still could not overpower her, and even worse, his efforts only resulted in it becoming harder for him to breathe.
Even though he had gotten stronger, if Lafetti really went all out, she could easily crush him to death. Fortunately, she seemed to at least able to control her strength, not enough for her to kill him.
However, can he not pry my shorts so suddenly?
We're still outside the house!!
“Sniff* Sniff* Sniff* Hmm, at least you’re telling the truth. I don’t smell that stupid Chief on this place!” She muttered as she held Rain’s raging member with her hand and started sniffing around it. “You better not forget Rain… you are mine, you got that!?”
Lafetti had heard that humans were incredibly flirtatious and would often look at other women despite already having a lover. And this somehow this worry made Lafetti grit her pearl-white teeth in frustration.
She didn’t know what love is. She had never felt like this before. At first, she just thought of Rain as something she owns, a tool for her own entertainment. She had many things she was eager to try and experience, and Rain was the right thing for them.
In fact, this was not the first time she had seen a man. Often, when their mating starts and the itch on their bodies became unbearable, some of her sisters will depart and hunt some males in desperation. If lucky, there would be human males, but if not then they would settle for other races. There, they would ease their sufferings a little. Her other sisters would ask her to try, however, she never had.
She was prideful… her heart was as high as the heavens. Just looking at these men who look at them with disgust and hatred, it was like cold water pouring down on her, reminding her of the reality of who and what she was.
She dislikes it and hence, she never joined on her sisters' embarrassing act. On this, she was like Stagna and Zarda. Especially her sister; Zarda. Because of the curse, looking for a proper mate was extremely difficult. Her eyes birthed fear and disgust, and every weak-willed man who saw her will faint in fear.
It came to the point that Zarda quenches her thirst using the other sisters.
As for Stagna, she might as well read books and ancient transcripts than drowning in carnal pleasures. Though, sometimes, when the itch became unbearable, she would have no choice but settle it. Drova, on the other hand, overrides her lust with the lust for fighting. She was one of those muscle heads who prefer fighting over anything.
Among the other few, such as Sarete, they are one of the oldest Lamians in the Tribe, completely unlike Lafetti. Hence, their lust was particularly strong. And Lafetti understands that.
Lafetti was still young so the itch on her body when that particular season comes was not as strong as the other Lamians, so she can persevere and could still endure it up until now.
But that was when she found him.
He wasn’t very tall or short, nor was he fat or thin. He was truly unlike any other man she had seen in this world. He had delicate facial features, with eyes bright like the stars, and was dressed in some strange clothes made from unknown fabric or leather.
He was not considered suave, nor did he look extremely handsome. He was the type of person who would be filtered out by one’s brain when placed in a crowd. Of course, to Lafetti, he didn’t look that bad appearance-wise. Although his looks were not that handsome to the point where he could make people faint on the spot, his looks grew on people.
In fact, his was the kind where you just can’t birth any malice or ill-intentions on him, and that you are extremely comfortable as if nothing is ever going wrong when he was there, beside you.
People would like him more and more the more they look at him.
His handsomeness belongs to the ‘Adorable Little Brother that you just wanted to spoil’ type and was well worth a second look!
However, appearance is not what Lafetti liked about him. It’s his eyes, his beautiful eyes that looked like as vast as the blue sky.
There was no disgust, no hate, no detest, it was pure like a child who had just become aware of this world. There was no sense of prejudice coming from him that she loathed so much. And as a matter of fact, aside from clear and obvious curiosity and interest when he laid his eyes on her for the very first time, there was also excitement, as if he was meeting the things that only his dreams and mind would appear. There is no discrimination or prejudice to her being a different race.
Before she could react or understand what was going on, he crept into her heart, barge in without any warning.
At times, she was grateful, so utterly lost in the moment of passion that her judgment is clouded and all she can see is him. Other times, she thinks of the pain and anxiety he caused her, the deep sting of loss for who she had been and the painful missing whenever she departed and couldn’t see him for a day or two, much less an hour or more, as well as the chaos of those moments when she felt as if her world had been turned upside down, and her life isn’t as clear as it once was.
All that she was certain of is that her life and her heart will never be the same, not after a certain someone like the idiot but too-good-to-be-real idiot; Rain Revert cashed into them.

What is your answer?’ Tus heard the ancient voice that sounded like sandpaper as he stared at the altar with the land and sky frozen in motion. The words repeated themselves over and over again, forcing him to answer without the chance of taking it back. Armed with a borrowed sword and cheap armor that looked like wood, he said aloud without hesitation, “Yes!” The altar hummed, a green light flickered in the surroundings, and Tus ceased to exist.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
