Chapter 25- Madness Script
~ P.O.V. Of The Being ~
"Hahaahaahah! What about all that talk earlier! Didn't you say something about a queen, too bad, too bad, but that old hag's been dead for thousands of years!"
Ahh~ it feels so good to have a body again. I can finally kill all I want. Those ones in the corner behind me are already weakened by my sacrifices enhanced by my soul. I can kill them anytime I want, but what is that white cloth. Wasn't it that boy's magical armament? Why does it keep moving even though it's master's dead?
Feeling a small prick I look down at one of my arms still inserted into the boy's body. I take my hand out to let the body crumple to the floor...
I can't take my hand out...
What?! What is going on?!
"Boy! What did you do?!"
"You're body is in such great shape I hope you let me borrow it." The boy's mouth wasn't moving however sounds definitely came from his direction.
What is going on!
"Haha I'm lucky, to think you were only of the Varnus races."
"You, how do you know of the Nightmare races!"
This is crazy! No one should know our races! Not even if they were a sacrifice!
"Speak! Who are you!"
"I am the nightmare for you Nightmares."
The cloth... The voice is coming from the cloth. I finally singled in on it, but what is this feeling? I feel like I need to get out of here no matter what. What is going on?
"Hahaha I was originally worried you might be any other race like a Loctus or Narvious. I am indeed lucky, but I need to finish this off quickly. Madness script is always a danger to use."

"You... What are ..."
I didn't get to finish my sentence before the cloth turned into the body of the boy and my hand was inserted into the constantly writhing white cloth. The prickling sensation that I felt earlier came again. And again. And again. It kept on intensifying until it felt like a fire was consuming my arm.
My senses are screaming danger, so I immediately tore off that right arm. It's painful, but I can easily regrow another one. I need to refocus on the boy. However when I turned to where the boy was I saw the cloth, and I could distinctly feel the boy's presence behind me. When did they switch?
"Can you feel it. That slowly creeping madness."
The voice of the boy seemed to be far away yet close. Is this what that earlier spell was?!
"It seems you have realized it already, for a Varnus you're quite perceptive. Yes, the first verse of the madness script. Immobilize the enemy's senses."
"Impossible! Magic can only affect the person themselves or their environment!"
"It seems I need to speed things up, after all you are from the Nightmare races. It's taking quite a toll on my soul to use one script."
This is unreal. However I refuse to just hand down my life. I create a shockwave to disrupt my surroundings. Then quickly punch the ground to cave in the floor.
BOOM! BOOM!
Guh?! What?! I took damage on myself!! How?!
"Hey now don't go trying to commit suicide. Or were you aiming for the floor, but accidentally hit yourself in the chest?"
Is his magic real? However he said that he needs to finish this quickly, so I need to drag this on. I sprint off into the winding corridors leaving the boy behind.

"Hahaha no matter how many mind games you play, my physical body will always ... What the hell."
I could've sworn I ran into the other rooms. Why am I back in this one? What was that magic?
"Welcome back, you decided to stay huh."
Can I not run? What can I do?! I've never been in a situation like this, what is this?!!!
"As much fun as I'm having I guess all good things must come to an end."
Watching his movements carefully I decided not to move a muscle. This magic is powerful, but if he can't deal any damage to me it's useless.
That white cloth begins to fly at me again. I'll dodge it this time. Leaping to the side I evade the incoming dangerous cloth.
Crunch!
What...
Didn't I evade?
"Although you were smarter for your race you never did learn, did you." I look at the smiling face of the boy as the white cloth engulfed my body.
"In the end who really are you?"
"Haven't I already answered that; I am the nightmare for you Nightmares."
------------------------------------------
Engil watched the entire event play out. He watched as Roen toyed with that monster like it was a little kid. Awe, admiration, and denial were all reflected in his eyes.
"Why'd you go and scare the hell out of us if you could've handled the situation that way!?"
"Idiot, you think that spell works on all the Nightmare races in my current state. We are probably the luckiest people right now to get out alive from a Nightmare race that had reformed it's body."
"What is a Nightmare?"
"I'll save that for later. Anyways pick Tyor up I have almost finished absorbing the body of that Varnus."
Engil was still wanting to press for an answer, but when he took a better look at Roen he could see that the other was panting and shaking heavily. He was extremely happy about surviving, but the whole fight felt surreal. He listened to Roen and held Tyor firmly on his back with a rope from his backpack.
'Let's hope nothing happens right now.'
The three staggered through the hallways. Roen was wearing a green robe, he said that his usual clothes still haven't finished digesting the Varnus' body. Then Engil felt a slight tremor coming from the surroundings. A white cloth was flying from the direction of where they left and situated itself onto Roen. Immediately Roen's face paled.
"Run now!"
vvrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Roen's shout was overlapped by a humming crescendo. The undisturbed runes and lines that painted the rooms all began to light up.
RUMBLE
The whole castle began to shake. Then a booming voice shook the walls that it came from.
"HAHAHAHA YOU DARE TRY TO KILL ME!! YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE NIGHTMARE RACES!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU AND REFORM MY BODY WITH YOURS!"

Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice. A Broken Kingdom
After fighting a diseased ancient silver dragon, Oskar must solve a mystery that leads him halfway across the world in pursuit of answers. This story is based on a character from a tabletop roleplaying game. I realized that I'd spent quite a lot of time planning out his backstory, and decided to go ahead and write some of it down. Then I wrote more, and more, and realized that I had a lot more than any sane RPG player should write about their character...
