Late-April. 4031. Lyth Manor. Deiza City.
Minotaur chanted something by whispering, black mists began to emerge from monster and flow to occupy surroundings. “What’s that?”, I heard Aila asking. “No idea...”, I replied. As of now there were more or less 500 people standing still, facing minotaur.
Everyone was getting ready to attack minotaur by pouring mana into their weapons or chanting long and powerful spells. Unfortunately, black mists reached them before they attacked. One by one people were falling down to ground.
My mind was focused on others when I heard “PAT” sound from behind. I turned to see Aila lying unconscious on ground. I pulled her out of black mist and tried to wake her. Just to be sure, I checked her pulse. “Coma?”, I whispered to myself.
“Mortals!”, Minotaur’s voice echoed. “Kill me and others shall wake from their slumber! Else, I will devour each and every soul!”, Minotaur spoke again.
My eyes detected two people who were not affected by minotaur’s spell. One of them was hovering on air and second one was covered with light blue mana standing firmly on ground.
Few sparks occured on my body as if a fire was going to be flamed. Attentively, I put down Aila’s body on ground. To my surprise, sparks occured as dark mists hovering on ground were touching my body. Moreover, my body was consuming and absorbing dark mists. It was empowering me.
Minotaur raised it’s right arm and its sword that was laying on ground was pulled up into his hand. He slashed sword few times and massive waves of wind pushed through to attack two mages. The one who was standing on ground chanted something and large amount of water began to come up from ground making a wave as tall as 15 meters.

“Tsunami”, mage shouted. Massive wave after wave flooded towards minotaur crashing on midway against wind shockwaves produced by minotaur’s attack.
Humans were at disadvantage and minotaur was aware of it. Minotaur made few more slashes with the sword and few more wind shockwaves swooped towards mages. Thinking rationally, minotaur’s attacks were aimed at people who were lying on ground rather than mages. “Smart one”, I whispered.
Fortunately, no one was aware of my and Aila’s existence, yet. I had two possible options. The first was to run, either taking Aila with me or alone. The second was to fight. I was thinking throughly to come up with decision when my heart beat stopped for a moment.
I gulped down, swallowing last of saliva in my mouth in thirst. I breathed out, last of air within my body going out and taking all the power from my body. I fall down onto my knees barely standing still.
The flow of time slowed down. Minotaur’s right leg moved to make first step but in my eyes it took an eternity. Another step but mages were staying still as if nothing had happened. On minotaur’s third step, mage hovering on air began to move his right arm.
In an instant all of dark mists that were covering ground were absorbed by my body. I felt an unimaginable burst of power that could not be described in words. I stood up to see Minotaur making its fifth step and sparks of light emerging at mages finger. Minotaur moved his sword to slash at him when lightening bolts struck from mage's finger tips.
Everything was still in slow motion where it felt as if I was an omnipotent being; having supreme rule over time.
I began to run towards them, while minotaur’s sword dodged lightening and went towards the mage standing on ground. Five lightening bolts hit minotaur’s body but his sword cut the mage into two. High-pitched, filled with horror and terror screams came out of minotaur when hit by lightening bolts. It used its left hand to grab the mage hovering on air and ripped him into two.

As soon as I was few meters away from minotaur I unsheathed my katana. The flow of time turned to normal.
“Old lord, you are still alive?”, was first thing which minotaur said to me. I didn’t get what he meant. I grabbed katana with my both hands and raised it over my head when I saw what minotaur had meant. My body was not of flesh but fire.
My arms went down and I raised my left arm up to my eye level. I turned my hand sideways few times, moved my fingers. Flames and fire was all I consisted of. “You don’t remember!”, minotaur said again and laughed.
A breeze hit me before his sword came down. Minotaur had changed its mind to attack at me, as if understanding I was not person or being who he thought I am.
I dodged its attack by jumping to right. Minotaur’s sword was almost hitting ground when it tried to change it projection to hit me. Instead of waiting for his attack, I jumped onto his sword and began to run towards his body.
I jumped up into air as soon as I reached his arm joints. On air, I poured as much as dark red and royal blue mana I could into katana. “Dragon’s roar”, I screamed and as I slashed katana a wave of fire and flames emerged to swoop at minotaur. They were followed by a thin wave of fast wind which diagonally cut minotaur into two.
Instead of blood gushing out of its body, minotaur began to disperse as if it was a hologram. Only its head was left when minotaur said “We shall meet again!”.
I heard noises so turned towards place from where voice was coming. It was Kyle Cohen. He had regained his alertness and composure. The flames that made up my body began to evanescence, reforming back to flesh. He saw me mutating and evolving, although there was not a glimpse of shock in his face.
He came towards me and said “You should wear something”.
Late May 4031. Cohen Manor.
“Kyle has written me about what you have done”, Riley said. I was standing few meters away from him. As always he was sitting on his usual armchair.
He began to fill pipe bowl with tobacco. His focus was on bowl so that not spill tobacco. As he finished filling it, he put the pipe in his mouth. Riley grasped match firmly at its midpoint using his index finger and thumb. He used his left hand to get rough rock that was on table close to him. He squeezed the match on rock and pulled it.
He took up the burning match up to pipe and put tobacco in fire. Puffing for few times, he began to inhale and exhale smoke. “Enlighten me, Kain. What had happened?”, he said.
