《World Game》4th floor

Sam took his shield and club after resting for another 15 minutes.
He had planned everything. First he will clear the two apartments that seemed empty after that he will check the last one.
After listening at the door he was sure it was clear on the corridor so he slipped out and went to the apartment opposite the Cornwell's.
The door was unlocked. Sam silently opened the door and scanned the inside. The coatrack in behind the door had been flipped and a bunch of bags and shoes were scattered on the floor. After seeing that the rest of the apartment is clean and tidy Sam concluded that the owner must have left this place in a hurry.
' I remember the guy who lives here has family on the countryside. He must have left immediately after all of this started.'
Sam checked the apartment while thinking about this.
Lastly he went to the kitchen to look for still eatable food and water.
"Wow..quite the spoils!! 4 bottles of water as well as half a whitebread and honey. The fridge is nearly empty so I am quite lucky that i have found this in the cabinet."
By the way Sam also found a staff which must belong to the man living here.
"Another one who randomly chose a class and left his weapon" Sam sighed and picked up the staff.
"It is heavy!! Too heavy for me to even swing it properly! That must be the class restrictions." Sam said and left the staff. It was too heavy so even when Sam leaves this place he wouldn't bring it.
After bringing the spoils back to his living room he went for the next apartment only to find the door locked. He knocked lighty and said quietly " Hello is there someone in there? I am Sam Williams from apartment 16."

No reply. Total silence.
'There is no one in there and the door is locked anyways so it's meaningless to stay here' Sam decided and went for the last apartment on this floor.
The door wasn't locked but the chewing noises coming from the room were alarming and disgusting so Sam crouched down and held his breath.
'Mr. and Mrs. Jones live here. They are at least 50 years old so they should have kept low profile.. but these noises...' Sam speculated.
He hesitated to open the door.
'I need to clear this room and get their food and water.'
He steeled himself and slowly millimeter for millimeter opened the door.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones were still inside their apartment. Both of them were eating at the moment but instead of steak or pizza Mr. Jones was chewing on his wife's arm while she was biting his shoulder.
"Ah.." Sam was shocked and leaked a small sound by mistake.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones looked in the direction of the sound. Sam's eyes met their hollow grey zombie eyes.
The two zombies stood up and started to walk towards Sam unsteadily. This view was horrifying not only because there were two zombies walking towards him but also because Mrs. Jones left arm was only hanging to a tiny thread of flesh and skin.
Mr. Jones had nearly eaten through her whole arm and even cracked her bones.
Sam lost focus for a few moments. When he came back to his senses Mr. Jones was just one meter away from him stretching his arms in Sam's direction.
Sam woke up and with a swift motion readied his wooden shield to defend against the zombies when Mrs. Jones tripped on one of the two beginner staffs that lay on the ground and pushed her husband in Sam's direction.

'Just like the last time! Let's see how the shield and stat point in defense help me to survive!!' Sam pressed his foot on the ground hiding behind his shield.
*Bam
The impact came and Sam had to retreat for one step but he didn't fall.
Now he understood what the message meant with the feeling of someone's improved stats. Sam held his ground against the zombie took out his club and tried to counterattack.
The first two attacks were off by quite a bit so Sam tried to concentrate. He saw Mrs. Robinson climbing up from the ground about 3 meters away.
'I need to hurry or the two of them will overwhelm me. Concentrate! You need to concentrate!' Sam reminded himself.
He tried to hit but missed again while pushing his shoulder against the shield to keep some distance.
Taking a big breath Sam held the zombie in place with his shield and hit the zombies head. The disgusting sound of a skull shattering was like music in Sam's ears at this moment. Mr. Jones stopped moving and Sam gave him a strong push with his shield. He pushed him against his wife and both of them ended on each other. The corpse of her husband pressed Mrs. Robinson down. Sam took this chance to walk in front of her. He lifted his club and smashed the zombies head in. The sight of her carved in face mixed with the gruesome appearance of her arm made Sam turn around quickly.
He started to search the rooms after resting on the couch for a couple of minutes.
"Phew that was dangerous. Why are they even zombies? I thought all of us humans would be 'player' unless we are bitten." Sam looked at the couple on the ground again. " maybe they got a heart attack and turned after dying. Or they got bitten by the same zombie that attacked the Cornwell's and me.... In the end I don't have enough information. Where do I get equipment and weapons or skills and quests? Too many questions and no one to ask...maybe i should look for other people to exchange information. I should think about a group as well. I am not confident i can fight and beat 2 zombies in an unexpected situation so backup will be helpful!"
When Sam was done talking to himself he was already back in his apartment. He locked the door and laid down on the couch. He kept pondering about numerous questions until he finally fell asleep.

System OMEGA
One day every person on the planet suddenly received a message warning the end of human supremacy over the planet, and at the same time alerting the humans in order to prepare. The message was seen as a joke by everyone or almost. In the period in which the MC starts some training there will be a time skip, and show only the necessary parts, interesting or that affect the story. I don't have the patience to read or write entire chapters just MC doing nothing but train. And likely the MC stay well OP. This and an amateur fiction only in order to improve my skills as a writer. Please write your reviews they are welcome. The English not my native language, any errors, please let me know. The image of the cover is not my own. I found the image in Google images. The Granddaughter of Time
Teresa Hargrove was okay with giving up. She knew the Earth was doomed and there was nothing to be done about it. What she was not okay with was the Future, an enigmatic woman nearly fanatical in her devotion to making a difference, dragging her along — seemingly, to prove her wrong. It turns out though that the Future is very hard to understand. This story contains heavy themes, including mental illness, existential crisis and death. However, I still tried to eventually convey a message of hope. Several mythical and metaphorical beings in the shape of humans will appear in most chapters. However, they are not meant to be of a specific ethnicity or social background and are instead perceived differently by people around them. For your reading pleasure, feel free to imagine them any way you’d like, even if your imagination contradicts descriptions from the story. Enjoy!~

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
