A month past where Haiyang trained and trained. His effort did bare fruit as he now had full moon imprints on every muscle. His next step was his blood vessels. Trying to imprint them was much harder when compared to the muscles and bones.
Haiyang needed a new method of training. He tried to think of something that didn’t involve finding herbs. He couldn’t though no matter how much he sift through his brain for ideas. The only option he could think of was making human contact and hoping he could find help. He had no idea where to go, so he started with his only lead.
The next day Haiyang headed north, the same direction as the two family killers went. He walked through the forest constantly circulating moonlight qi. This helped deepen the moon imprints on his blood vessels.
This ability was only possible because his bones just as the marrow makes blood they make moonlight qi. So this allowed him to cultivate during the day, but he still prefered cultivating at night. His reason being that the moonlight helps the absorption of qi and helps the circulation of qi. Even though cultivating during the day was slow during long walks like he was doing now it was better than nothing.
Haiyang walked for hours to the point where the noon sky was red from the setting sun. He needed to find a cave to stay the night and food. He looked and looked and soon found a small hidden away cave. After remembering where the cave was he set off to find some rabbits to eat.
Half an hour later Haiyang returns with a rabbit in his mouth still dripping with blood. He makes one more sweep of the outside of the cave to make sure there are no nearby predators. Once confirmed that the cave was safe he just walked in. He thought that there was no way anything was could be in the cave.

He was wrong though as soon as he walked a meter into the cave the metallic scent of blood hit his nose. He dropped his rabbit and backed away. After a minute or two of thought he headed deeper into the cave with vigilance.
After walking deep into the cave Haiyang saw a boy maybe about 13 or 14 years old. He was wearing a light blue uniform covered in holes and blood that looked to be his own. Haiyang slowly walked up to the boy and studied him. He cfound that the boy was unconscious but still had to weak breath.
Haiyang decided to try something. He walked up to the boy and placed his paw on the boy’s head, and started circulating his qi into the boy. Haiyang focused the qi onto the boy’s wounds and focus on mending the wounds. Meaning connecting skin back to skin and muscle back to muscle. This healed stop the bleeding and worked not to badly for healing wounds. Haiyang found this out when he got cut after getting into a scuffle with a wolf over a rabbit.
By the night the boy’s breath stabilized but he was still covered in blood. So Haiyang decided to get fresh water to help clean the boy off and use as drinking water. So he left the cave and went to a pond that was close to his temporary hideout. He remembered it when he was looking for the cave.
The pond itself wasn’t very large nor was it particularly special in any way. The only somewhat interesting thing about the pond was the purple glowing fish that were the size of a football.
So going to that pond Haiyang drunk a good amount of water to fill his stomach. Once his thirst was satisfied he searched around the pond for anything that could hold water.

He did find a hollowed out log, by what he doesn’t know. So Haiyang filled the log with some water and started dragging it back to the cave. Once back to the cave and the boy Haiyang got to work. He tore off a few parts of the boy’s uniform to make bandages. He used a small amount of qi to manipulate the water onto the wounds and some qi to help tie the cloth around the wounds. This task was difficult not only because manipulating water and cloth was hard, but mostly because of Hiayang’s lack of thumbs.
Even though the task was hard Haiyang was able to finish rather quickly at the expense of most of his qi. So he moved away from the boy exhausted and started to meditatie. As he found that meditating helped speed up the recovery rate of qi.
A week soon past and Haiyang still took care of the boy, he gave him water, dressed his wounds, and little bits of qi to help the recovery rate. Even with this though Haiyang still didn’t slack off in his own cultivation.
He still cultivated regulatory and with the same intensity as before. With this week of cultivation the moon imprints on his blood vessels not done but certainly deeper. With this week past the boy was still unconscious but he had a regular breathing pattern, and his wounds stopped bleeding were now only scars. He look as if he might wake up soon so he still waited and took care of the boy.
Another week passed as Haiyang still takes care of the boy and still trains. His moon imprints on his blood vessels now almost finished, and should be after about one more week of training.
Haiyang is returning from a hunt with a rabbit hanging from his mouth. When at the entrance of the cave he hears the shuffling of feet. He drops the rabbit and rushes to the boy with worry evident on his face. He stops in his tracks when he sees the boy standing up looking puzzled.
“Hi there…” The boy says weakly and dazed.

August Samuel Hatch was born under an inauspicious pattern of stars. It's granted him what is widely considered the most unlucky of inconveniences: becoming host to a powerful but pernicious spirit that will act as his guide and protector--and one day end his life. Sairne is sworn to stand by August's side and, when the fancy strikes her, advise him, all in the service of atoning for a past life she can’t remember having committed a grave enough offense to earn her soul indentureship in the mortal realm. Bound by a celestial contract neither one can negotiate, their fates are all they've ever known. But in a city ruled by religious right and where magic runs deep as bedrock, their search for a missing friend leads them to a dark conspiracy that could transmute the very magic that binds them to their fates, and that might grant them the ultimate choice: do they save the city or save themselves? Cross-posted on Wattpad and Ao3. For fans of fantasy YA story beats if they starred adults instead, 1920s inspired setting, lots of banter, larger cast of characters, somewhat soft magic system. Completed, but being actively edited prior to posting! I'm the only captain on this ship, so mind any errors.
