《The life of a Soldier》Chapter 7 : A trip into the city pt1 (aftermath)

Dorian made swift paces leaving the weaponsmith in a somewhat confused state. He had to admit that he was somewhat unsure of wat had happened. Well one thing he was sure off, he had just made a bucketload of money. Making a sword his father would have said wasn't that bad. That maybe in 15 more years he'd be at the same level as his father.
Dorian had always thought his smithing skills to be decent but nothing more. Yet the amount of money he had gotten for that 1 blade was beyond belief. Well, he concluded, at least he wouldn't have to worry about money problems in his life. Ever.
"Wat in the blazes just happened?!" Arin exclaimed catching up to Dorian. "You smith better than most of the bloody dwarven blacksmiths. You better share that money with us by the by!" She said grinning at him in excitement.
"Uuuhm yea sure, wouldn't know wat to do with the money anyways." Dorian said still not quite back to his normal self.
"Well." Gladiel said putting a hand on his shoulder. "Atleast i now know it the investment was totally worth it!" Laughing he gave Dorian a good pat on his back. "Did you see the look on the smiths face when the crowd starting auctioning for the sword like crazy." He sighed deeply and continued in a softer voice. "God that was so much fun, should definitely find another place to do this."
"It wouldn't be fun to spend our free days in the city with me forging a few weapons" Dorian quickly said before Gladiel let his imagination and moneymaking schemes grow to much for the rest to handle. Gladiel was like that, according to him he had an healthy obsession with making good money.
The story was that he had become a legionary so he could fight off people who came to steal his wealth once he started implementing one of his many schemes. One thing the group knew however, Gladiel knew his way around money, the dark side of town was somewhere were he felt at ease and he could make easy money. He could also haggle the virginity away from a nun! In a matter of speaking ofcourse.

"You have however made me quite curious as to how you have learned such expertise in the creation of weaponry." Ístril piped in breaking Dorians line of thought.
"Well my father has a forge and i've been working in it for aslong as i can remember. He taught me alot of things besides working a forge aswell. Hunting, foraging and fighting, i guess i had a rather educational childhood." Dorian said grinning at the rest.
Blaitz just shook his head and muttered. "Talented people who work hard are so far beyond our reach. Would be nice if they fell down the stairs and broke their nose a couple of times. Atleast that way they wouldn't be handsome aswell." Luckily Dorian was out of earshot of Blaitz's rantings.
"Thank you Gladiel, for putting down money so i could defend my fathers name, And thank you Vor for shutting him up, last but not least, Thank you Blaitz for wanting to kick his ass for me." Dorian said looking it his friends with a big grin
Vor made a polite small bow to express that thanking him was unnecessary. Gladiel and Blaitz slung an arm around his shoulders and grinned at him in amusement. "Couldn't let you have all the fun now could we"
"Damn straight we couldn't, besides wat else are friends for. You make a pretty good investment, i want to keep you in tiptop shape."
Joking around the group continued down the streets. The girls just walked behind the guys, Ístril gave Arin a look and rolled her eyes. Arin just laughed and tackled the three of them to the floor while doing her best to rub all their heads at the same time.
The 4 were rolling around in the alley dirt trying to get on top of each other. Vor and Ístril just looked on in amusement. Long since had they gotten used to the abundant energy of the other four. It was safe to say they even felt comfortable with it. Also it lightened the mood when they played around.

Eventually Vor grabbed them by the scruffs of their necks and put them back on their feet. Looking a bit disheveled the 4 continued on their merry way as if nothing had happened.
Sorry that this one is a bit short, I just couldnt get into it. I wanted to have something done anyways so i made a short aftermath. :;^^:
I will get another one done tomorrow, I hope i can get myself back into hype! [th_0fire.gif]

Embrace the Blade
Born crippled, it was no surprise when James Ransom died young, but he was offered an opportunity - a mission: to go to a new world and become strong enough to kill the hidden boss behind the final boss. Now in a new world he must research and study the system to take advantage of it, find his strengths; form alliances and find party members to become strong enough to face the end. This story does use Multiple perspectives and tells stories that add to the MC's. I've been given this feedback enough that I feel the need to mention that growth (levels, skills, classes, etc.) is slow, intentionally so, but constant. Credit for the cover goes to a commission for KemptBones from DeviantArt for the cover. This book is a rewrite of the original Embrace the Blade. The timeline for this one is completely separate and you do not need to read the original to understand what is going on. If you want to check out the original you can find it here (just a warning that they are NOT good): ETB Drafts 1&2 If you came here from the original EtB, WELCOME!!

Silver Fox and the Western Hero
Author's Note. This is book 7! Please feel free to hop on and enjoy! If you find you like my writing style, I hope you'll check out the first 6 books, all available to read on Kindle Unlimited, link below!) Alex was dying, and all the millions his father had left him meant nothing. The life he had been so eager to embrace, to do the memory of his father proud, would soon come to an end. Cancer. That ugly, terrible word. He had tried to be strong for his mother, even when the treatments left him violently ill, his body wracked with pain, his friends and even his girlfriend leaving him almost as fast as his once impressive physique wasted to nothing under the ravages of his illness. And just when he thought all hope was dead, a couple discrete referals placed by high-powered friends of his family got him an exclusive spot at the most sophisticated cryonic facility in the world. He didn't know if there was such a thing as an afterlife, but part of the package included uploading a copy of his cortex into a digital universe filled countless worlds to explore, where he could embrace whatever class or profession he could dream of. All of which sounded hell of a lot better than the miserable death waiting for him in the real world. In the end, he signed the paperwork, putting his pathetic flickering life in the hands of potential quacks and charlatans. After all, with death just days away, what did he have to lose? Even if he could never be successfully revived, he could at least adventure his heart out. (Authors Note: Books 1-6 are now live on Amazon and here is a link if you wanted to check it out! And I will continue to post chapters to Book 6 here first, until that tale is told! I hope you enjoy! And if you wanted to help support my work by checking out book 1 on Amazon, I would be extremely grateful!)

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
