Chapter 27|| A Tale of The Past
"Lyyla I never said Sen's eyes were like an amplifier I think you misheard."
After Ryyla said that, in her mind she was patting herself on the back, she thought. "Kukuku with that my plan has succeeded."
Everyone was stunned by ryyla they couldn't comprehend what she just said. Could Ryyla really be this dumb, the first one to snap out of it was Lyyla she quickly spoke up.
"What misheard, sis what the hell are you talking about? You just said his eyes were like an amplifier, there's no way I misheard. Now tell me, what did you mean by that?"
Ryyla was shocked she thought there was no way her plan could fail. she looked towards Sen and he just gave her a small nod.
"Sen are you sure I can tell her?"
"Lyyla, if Ryyla tells you then you must promise never to reveal my secret to others."
"What! really you'll tell me?"
"Of course but first....."
As Sen spoke he snapped his fingers and Ryyla flipped over her hand revealing a piece of parchment.
"Sign this blood contract."
Lyyla couldn't help but be a bit amazed, she never knew her sister to be so docile, but with just a snap of Sen's fingers ryyla did what he wanted her to. At the same time though she looked at the contract questioningly.
"Sign a blood contract, but why? is your secret really so great?"
"Maybe it is maybe it's not, either way not another word about me will be said unless you sign this. So will you sign or not?"
Lyyla couldn't see the risk and Sen intrigued her from the bottom of her heart. She gladly snatched the contract from her sister and made her mark with blood she then handed it back to Ryyla and Ryyla completed it.
"Good, now under this contract you will not repeat what you hear to anyone outside this room ever or the contract will be broken and your death is guaranteed."
"Ok ok I've signed it, now tell me."
Sen felt rather annoyed at Lyyla's pushy attitude and didn't feel much like talking with her anymore. So he gave Ryyla a simple nod and Ryyla quickly went over the details of Sen's eyes. After listening for almost 10 minutes, Lyyla sat down on the bed in amazement. She was in a state of shock, she looked at everyone's faces as if to confirm whether her sister was lying or not and they just sat there with solemn expressions. When Ryyla was finally done explaining she gave a small sigh and looked at Lyyla.
*sigh*
"And so yes its true his eyes are like an amplifier, but sis I must warn you to not even think about asking Sen what I know your gonna ask him."
Lyyla jumped up excitedly.
"But sis with Sen's eyes maybe we could."
Before she could finish Ryyla stood up as well and placed her hand in front of Lyyla's face issuing her to stop talking.

"No Lyyla, Sen is mine and I will not use him for that."
Tara Kai and Sen looked at the twins in confusion, Sen interrupted them.
"Use me for what?"
"Nothing Sen, my sister is just foolish do not listen to her."
"How can you say that? with his eyes we could do it."
Sen got a little worried as did his parents because Lyyla kept saying "With his eyes." As if she would tear them out at any moment.
"No Lyyla and that's final."
"But but."
"I SAID NO!!"
The room filled with an awkward silence and then Lyyla stormed out with a few tears in her eyes.
Kai not being able to read the mood chuckles lightly and says.
"Well, your sisters an odd one isn't she."
Ryyla glanced hard at Kai as did everyone else and Tara pinched him a bit and whispered in his ear.
"Kai you idiot, can't you see somethings up ."
"Kai now noticing he made a mistake, but to his detriment he couldn't figure out where he went wrong. He was just stating the obvious. Afterward, he mumbled a little under his breath as he thought he was the victim now."
"Ryyla what's going on ?why did your sister get so upset and why does she want my eyes?"
Ryyla looked at the three and she couldn't help but shake her head .
*sigh*
"If I'm to tell you then everyone should take a seat because this story is a bit long."
After she said that everyone began to take a seat, but seeing as there were no chairs in this room soon everyone had sat down next to Sen on his bed. But because the bed was a bit small there wasn't quite enough space.
"Ok, when I said to sit I meant me, Sen and Tara on the bed of course and Kai, you can just stand over there by the corner."
"What why can't I sit on the bed and you stand in the corner, how's that fair?"
"Kukuku, I am the storyteller and the one who tells the tales must be comfortable whilst doing so or the tale in which is told could be told incorrectly, Kai, do you understand?"
Kais mind just got scrambled he was completely lost with what Ryyla just said, his only retort was.
"Then why can't tara stand in the corner while I sit?"
Sen couldn't help but think. "Great job abandoning your wife like that"
Meanwhile, Tara gave Kai a twisted look, she then looked at Ryyla and a small smile crept on her face, she looked back at Kai and said.
"I am the mother and the mother must sit during the tales to comfort the son who was nearly killed or the son who was nearly killed would be scared whilst in the company of a teller who tells a story without the mother to comfort the son.Kai, do you understand what I'm saying?"
Kai's face twisted in confusion he tried to say something, but nothing came to mind. In the end, he simply sat on the floor in front of the bed. Ryyla and Tara couldn't help but giggle like A couple of schoolgirls.

"Teacher can we please get to this story now and mom please don't act like Ryyla it's not good for your health."
Kai laughed a bit at his wife which made her blush pink with embarrassment."
"Right, ahem, this has to do with my mother and father. You see, a long time ago before I was born. All of Gordonia was ruled by the very first species that lived in this world also know as the Dragons. The Dragons were known to be brutal and cruel. They ruled the lands with an iron fist and if they didn't like you they simply killed you and any whose village you were a part of."
"The reason they could rule so easily was not only because of how strong and intelligent they were, but also because they could use dimensional travel. Anywhere their enemies resided they could be there in literally a few hours. Everyone hated the dragons, but at the same time everyone feared them as well. No one would go against them, no one could go against them. For the dragons were not only powerful in magic but were also nearly immortal. It was said that they could live for millions of years and not reach the middle of their lifespan, that's how dreadful their vitality was."
Tara and Kai gasped with astonishment while Sen calmly listened on.
"But dragons with all their power and all their intelligence the thing that everyone knew about them the most was their unshakable pride. They looked upon themselves as the highest beings in the universe and from what others could see it seemed true, but that pride that they treasured so much was the beginning to their end. "
"No one knows why but for some reason the dragons soon separated themselves in groups and looked down on other dragon groups. Soon, infighting between the dragon race happened and with it the first and last dragon war started. Battles raged all across the planet, after I was born my father told me that before the dragons fought each other the continents were all connected and made as one, but during these conflicts a great calamity happened and the continents were split apart."
"The dragon war had lasted for nearly 6000 years and during that time 100's of millions of beast-men humans and elves had died. We were the lucky ones though because the dwarves nearly went extinct. I heard that after the war was done only a few thousand had remained alive. Sen, at the start of the war there were 1001 dragons in this world, do you know how many were left after their war?"
Sen stared blankly for a moment and then just blurted out an answer.
"813."
Ryyla was shocked at Sen's answer she shouted out.
" How did you know that?"
"Oh, that was correct, it was simply a guess."
But in truth when Sen had answered for some reason it felt like something within him trembled and he couldn't help but shiver from the feeling.
Ryyla stared at Sen for a few seconds curiously before she continued her story.
"Yes, it's as you said Sen there were exactly 813 dragons left in the world. Though after the war they all just vanished no one knew why. Some say they were weakened and needed to recuperate their power others say they simply got bored, but no one really cared because at last there was calm. For 2,000 years, the world was in peace and every race got along with one another. That's when my father was a young elf, he was nearly three hundred years old and a third of his life was passed by mostly as an adventurer. He was a great warrior and he was always a calm and collected person with a tactical mind designed for fighting."
Tara couldn't help but think Ryyla's father was a bit like Sen.
"My father's name was Draden and he is the strongest creature on Gordonia."
Kai couldn't help but react to Ryyla's words.
"Your father's still alive?"
But Ryyla seemed agitated by Kai's question, so she chose to ignore Kai and just continued on.
"My father Draden traveled the world, he would always seek more dangers and more thrills. Soon he had his own band of adventurers 100 in total. All of them were close and at the time they were the best adventure group in all the land. For a while, they were as happy as could be until one day they found themselves in an ancient ruin......"
"While they searched this place they found mountains of treasure and they all shouted out with joy, but under that mountain of treasure they awakened a dragon. Quickly a battle ensued and one by one my father's companions were slaughtered all around him. As my father used his 10th rank warrior abilities he somehow managed to go toe to toe with the beast. He said at the time it must have been weakened from just awakening from its slumber, that's why he could battle it on equal footing......."
"Soon however my father was slowly being forced back and every blow he unleashed left his hands numb and his bones creaking . Both were covered in wounds, my father even more so. As they did battle the ruin quickly started collapsing and their fight was brought outside. Every step this dragon took a small crater was left in its place that's how big and powerful it was....."
" As the two continued to fight, forest were burnt to ashes and village after village were demolished. After almost a week of battle, the dragon finally had my father cornered. In my father's desperate state, he lunged for one final attack, but it was to no avail and my dad Draden was swallowed whole."
"My god he was eaten by a dragon ."
Kai, as well as Tara, looked at Ryyla in pity.
"Kukuku my father may have been eaten, but he didn't die. How could he be killed before having a beautiful daughter such as myself be born."
Tara and Kai both looked confused. How can you be eaten and yet live? but Ryyla was clearly born, so how the hell did he escape then?
"Teacher enough, tell us, how did your father escape?"
"Kukuku my father, he ate the dragon that ate him!"

If you're willing to put up with a long growth curve, an MC that doesn't know what he's doing most of the time but is trying his best both to survive and to help his friends survive, you might enjoy the story. I'm just trying to have fun, maybe create something that in a second draft I can sell on the eBook market. If you're not into that, not into providing helpful comments for revisions, hey, that's cool, but do us both a favor and stop reading now. ** Oh, release schedule For the first weeks, I'll be releasing a chapter (1800-3000 words) a day. Following that, I'll be releasing whenever the mood strikes me. If I get some feedback, the mood might strike me more often, hint! hint!
