《Archillies Duane : The World Traveller》Chapter 22

Walking over to the Adventurer’s guild, thankfully, no one tried to mess with us.
Opening the door, we entered the twin of the main guild.
All guilds have the same structure and colours, with the only difference being their guildmasters and the employees, of course.
The guild was empty at the moment, since most of the people adventure at day, so we didn’t have to wait in a line.
“Hello, I’d like to register this girl.”
“Yes of course, here, pour magic into this card, or if you can’t, a drop of blood is enough.”
She was registered in the same way I was, pouring magic into the card then the receptionist fiddling with some tools.
Finally, she was done and gave the card to Rain.
“Alright, do you need me to explain how the guild works?”
“No thanks, Archie will explain it for me.”
Now that registering Rain is over, I have something else to do.
“Could you register us as a party?”
“Yes of course, please hand over both of your cards for a moment.”
I take over my card, and Rain hands over her card once again.
“What would you like to name the Party?”
“I’d like to give that honor to the lady.”
I gave a slight bow to Rain, making her confused at the sudden switch in responsibility.
She started fumbling with words in a cute way, until she finally calmed down and gathered her thoughts together.
“Phew… Umm.. Let’s name it ‘Ghastly Waves’, how about that?”
“Ghastly Waves it is.”
Fiddling around with some tools, colour drains from her face when she looks at my card.
A second later she fixed her demeanor and continued on with the tools, then gave the cards back to us.
“Congratulations, you have become a party. Now you are able to use a new menu called ‘Party’, in it, you could see your member’s status, and many more things.”
“I see…”
“By the way, since you are higher rank, I took the liberty of making you the Party leader, if you wish to change that, you can do so from the Party menu.”
“Thank you.”
“As your rank is SS, the party’s rank shall be the same, allowing all of your members to pick requests at that rank.”
“Okay, come on Rain, let’s pick something.”

I looked at Rain while saying that, then moved to the bulletin board.
Without missing a beat, she took out one of the papers at great speed.
“Let’s do this!”
The paper she picked was a search for a lost item, for some reason ranked S.
Since I didn’t have anything in mind, it was decided that we will do it.
I take the paper and present it to the receptionist.
“By the way, could you tell me why it is an S rank?”
“Well, it was supposed to be a B rank, since it is in a B rank cave, but many people died, even A ranks, so we had to raise it up.”
“I see, where is that cave?”
She takes out a map and points out the place.
“Are you still sure you want to go?”
“Well, the pay is 10 golds, so I can’t complain.”
She took my card, used some tools on it, then gave it back to me.
“Alright, you can go now.”
“Thanks.”
Taking Rain by the hand, we left the guild, and went on our way to the cave, in the mountain nearby.
Oh boy, time to pass through some forests..
….
After our quick date through the forest with Dean protecting us, we reached a giant opening.
Casting a couple of light orbs, we entered carefully, looking for a bracelet.
It is supposedly made of silver with nice engravings, and just that.
No gems, no enchantments, nothing.
So a person who thought of pawning it would get more from the requester himself.
Anyhow, this cavern is huge.
Branched into many tunnels, a person could easily get lost if not for a map.
At first, I thought that many people should be able to use ‘Mental Map’, but then it all was down to two things.
If the person had a Mind attribute in them, and their mana regeneration.
I didn’t notice at all, due to all of my achievements, how costly it is.
Right now, everything costs 99% of the original cost, with 90% of it from the achievements, and the other 9 from the skills.
Sadly, I can’t go more than that, but I could get it stronger, yet I think it is good enough as is.
What surprises me is Rain.
She adapts incredibly quickly, as if she was made for it.

Makes me wonder what world she came from, but she can’t answer that with no memories, eh?
The cave gets harder with each step we go, but Rain likes to switch with Dean, allowing her to get stronger on the way.
With her clothes and greatsword, nothing stood in her way, as she slashed with no skill whatsoever.
At first, it was rats that attacked us, then it became spiders that got larger as we went deeper.
As for me, using ‘Magic Manipulation’, I started creating abilities with the help of ‘Ability Creator’.
I created a ‘Magic Pickaxe’, and cast two ‘Magic Hands’, which I’m still able to do, and made them mine so that my Mining ability levels up higher.
The deeper we went, the more I started to question the requester.
How could he have went all the way till here and just issued it as a ‘B’ rank request.
Or maybe, the rats moved it inside, then the spiders took it from them to whatever is in the middle?
Who knows..
Anyhow, we finally reached a room in the cave which seems to contain all the treasures piled up by the spiders.
I checked for any traps using my ability ‘Trap Detection’, but found none, so I moved everything inside into my ‘Pocket Dimension’.
Tons of golds and items were in the room, so nothing was spared.
-Yawn..
A cute yawn came from above my head, telling me that Inka had woken up.
The books say that Ninetails take a whole year to mature, so I guess I’ve got to take care of it on my head like that, huh.
I asked Rain to let a few spiders alive so I could make Inka fight them.
Now a few spiders could be seen lying on their backs with their legs cut, and then I let Inka scratch or hit them, then I’d do the killing blow.
I tried looking for the bracelet in my ‘Pocket Dimension’, but nothing was there, making me get more suspicious.
….
3 Hours later, and we still haven’t found it.
At that point, I ability ‘Body Double’, which the now dead world traveller used on me, and made them go search with me.
They aren’t an illusion, just a ‘Body Double’.
Their power is weak compared to the real body, but they could still do everything the normal body does.
They could get more powerful, at the cost of extra mana, but their power, which is normally 10% of mine is good enough.
Finally, we reached the end of the cave, and whadya know?
Nothing.
Since we were bored of cave exploring, I decided to teleport us out.
-Ding!
“Absolute Luck Activated”
Then, in the corner of my eye.
I could see something glistening.
Albeit the sun is about to fall, there was enough light to shine the object on the ground.
Not missing the chance, I grab it quickly, to find that it is indeed, the one and only, useless bracelet.
Next to it, was dark stone, seemingly sucking out the light nearby.
Taking it in my hand, it starts shaking suddenly, then gets merged into the ‘Tattoo ring’.
With nothing nearby, I set off towards the city.
Or so I thought, until growling came on top of me, and from behind next.
“Can you wait until we reach the city?”
“I-I guess..”
“Doesn’t look like it… -sigh-..”
After a minute of debating, it was decided that I will go redeem the request, then buy some spices (which I forgot last time) then come back.
Of course I could still teleport all of us, but it seems that teleporting is an extremely rare magic, not to mention its cost.
It doesn’t cost anything for me, but for others…
Anyhow, I do not wish to go and gain the attention of others, so I activated ‘Sneak’, and teleported to an alley next to the guild, then redeemed my request.
With that done, I got my 10 golds, plus the treasures I got from the spider’s treasury.
Then, it struck me.
When I was at the bandit fortress, I must have got a lot of gold, but I forgot that quickly.
After facepalming myself, I went towards the shop and bought a lot of all the spices it had.
Funnily enough, it all cost 10 gold, but I was able to haggle it down to 4 golds.
Trade secret, I tell you.
Going to the alley quickly, I teleported back to the camp that I set before teleporting, then gave the spices to the Chef Rain.
I wonder how are the ‘Bodies’, they must be having fun right now..

The World Below
A place of myth and mystery, the Below is spoken of by few with any real consideration, and fewer with any true belief. After all, a realm filled with magic and monstrosities beyond imagining would be ridiculous, especially existing beneath one's very feet. Someone would have found it by now, through science, even if rumor dictated that it was able to "choose" who entered it. More wishful magic nonsense. ...Right? Note: This is a story on dungeon exploration, not a dungeon core/sentient dungeon!
