I woke to a pounding headache and a couple of blue screens.
Spell Disease mist level increase from 1 to 2
Spell Create lesser undead level increased from 0 to 1
Spell Disease mist level increase from 2 to 3
Spell Poison level increased from lv 1 to 2
Spell Disease mist level increase from 3 to 4
Marge was not kidding my experience bar had shot up to 455/1100 from about 345 since last i checked it . Of course I had beaten up the goblin as well. But i was still a lot closer to level 17
I checked the side of the barn and noticed a few items that Van had kept for my father. The goblins staff and spells book were on a sack along with a few pages of spells.
Van had also given me a bunch of basic combat spells and how to use them there was a note at the bottom.
Get Marge to optimize these spells for you. Bring your equipment with you the Goblin staff and the goblins spell notes. Your meeting Terrence at midday have all your mana ready. See me after dinner we need to go over your long term plans. There is some bread in the bottom of this bag. Its your breakfast. I have left a cup and container of water of water in there to get used to it.
Van could really be a jerk but at least I was learning. The bread was barely eatable. But if you soaked the bread in the water at least it would not break your teeth.
After a horrible breakfast i headed to Marges shop. Melissa was at the counter with Vivian. I walked over and Melissa glared at me “I am to have you make some poison and then we head off to look for a crossbow for me.”

Vivian looked at me “You do not have the identity skill yet?”
I blinked in surprise. Melissa gave me a mocking look “What did you think we were doing. Your learning all these herbs so you can build up your codex. Once you learn enough you will be able to learn the identify skill.”
I pulled out the shaman goblins Staff. “So what does this do?” Vivian looked at the staff “Well thats a rare piece. It has two effects i can see. A active Cast fireball three times a day and passive attribute a five percent increase to fire magic damage when equipped. There might be other effects but Marge will have to use a spell to identify them.”
Marge entered the shop and looked at the staff. “Alright that looks decent. Yours i take it?” I nodded Marge picked up the staff and cast a spell on it.
Goblin shaman staff
Cast Fire ball three times a day at no cost. Requires Mage class
Can instant cast lesser Fire ball Requires Shaman or higher mage class
when equipped by a shaman
5 percent fire magic damage
5 percent mana regeneration
Lesser lesser haste Speed increased by 15 percent
Marge looked at the staff “You have a decent item hear. You have the Sub Class Shaman Necromancer level 0. Cast the fire ball spell in this every morning in about a week your Shaman Necromancer class will level up. As a bonus you will be able to learn the first level of fire magic as well.”
Vivian grinned “Yeah I am a warlock and i borrowed some good equipment from Van. I managed to level up and gain the right to mage class in about a year. If i did not have the equipment it might have taken a three years.”

I starred at Marge and she nodded “Relax i have already written off to the mages guild. I will see if there is any equipment you can rent out. I doubt there will be any Necromancer equipment but there might be some shaman equipment.”
Marge looked threw my notes and turned to Vivian. “He has the Goblin shaman spell notes see if you can convert them into something he can use.” Vivian looked over the goblins horrible hand writing and started to copy down the words onto a sheet of paper.
Marge looked at me “Vivian will be minding the store i want your opinion on some equipment for Melissa.” I followed Marge until we got to the blacksmith. He smiled as we entered the forge.
Marge pointed to the crossbows “Describe the effects of each to me” I starred at the five crossbows “Those three are hunting crossbows called goblin Crossbows because they are used by archers to hunt Goblins. Those other two are what are called war Crossbows. They both are well made and have two slots so two bolts can be loaded at the same time.”
Marge nodded “So which one does my Granddaughter get?”
I starred “Have her load up the two war crossbows and test them.”
The black smith grinned his missing tooth actually made a whistling sound. His voice was heavily accented “My name is Boris take a look around young man. I will even help you gain Identify. Every weapon you correctly guess the age of increases your identify experience.”
I looked around Boris showed me the row of spears he was preparing. I grinned and lifted one. Boris laughed “good eye thats a beauty its for your friend Melissa. Let me show you its status window”

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
