The plains finally gave way to something other than a grassy expanse. It was still quite expansive, but lacked the grass. Instead, the dirt turned to stone and the air began to smell of sulphur as the group now continued their walk through a realm of geothermal springs. Dozens of individual geysers flanked the pathway (still relatively unchanged) and they fortunately weren’t the explosive kind otherwise the party would have gotten covered in boiling water. A problem for all but N-3.

“After I wake up in the morning I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth,” said Pernie, breaking the group’s relative silence. “The first thing I see is myself in the mirror and other than having my day immediately ruined, I tend just to sit there and stare. Sometimes it takes me thirty minutes just to start brushing my teeth. This place feels like that thirty minutes.”

The Traveler said something in response.

“Oh you know what I mean.”
