Chapter 2: Loyalty of the Dead
[Lord Antonnio Coros, Council Member, The Third]
‘Oh No!!’ Lord Antonio thought.
The people who laughed and smiled watching the Emperor might have enjoyed it, but he knew better.
“SILENCE!!” Roared Emperor Charles suddenly.
As if his calm mask of a leader was broken, he grabbed one of the fools that was approaching him and proceeded to twist the fool’s head. Humiliated and angered, the Emperor gave the second decree for the day.
“Kill them all!”
The thirteen Council members stood shocked, those who are present included were their kin, comrades in arm that have stood the challenges facing the Empire and high ranking nobles. People who are loyal to the Empire. Lord Antonnio step forward to plead to the King to revoke his command. Without even a glance, the Emperor willed his command to the Council.
They knew of the Emperor’s facade to hide his narcissistic side even before the accession of the Emperor, but they never thought he would go this far.
For the oath is clear; He who has the Sigil is the Emperor.
Bonded by the Oath with the Sigil, they faced the mass behind them. By the time the audience could calm themselves, magic of all kind rain upon them. Their laughter turns to scream of pain and misery. Some who were lucky managed to put up defenses in time.
With eyes moist with tears of blood, Lord Antonnio faced his house, the House of Coros. They stood in a pentagon shield centering with his only son of barely five.
His gaze stops as his wife screaming at him. Pleading to end this madness.
Struggling to stop his body, he unwillingly gathered mana onto his hand and summon all the air near the audience in throne room to outside the castle. Suffocating those who were present. In the same time, creating a void barrier to provide quietness as to not disturb the Emperor any longer. While those who survived still where mercilessly cut down by other members of The Council.

His prize magic that is feared throughout the continent were finally unleash. A magic where no screams or plea can even be heard.
When the deed is done, they stood in front of the corpses and faced the Emperor.
“Long Live the Emperor!” they spoke in unison three times.
Their face shows eternal loyalty and brim with pride.
For only Heaven knows the true pain and anguish locked inside their heart.
