《Re:Asura》Chapter 29: Nightmare

[Author's Note: I just realized that my worst enemy, as a writer, are the descriptions, Like seriously, writing the descriptions is like trying to explain what a red coloured ball looks like. Ok, perhaps that was a poor example, but I think some of you know what i mean. And then sometimes I get far too ahead in my imagination while writing the story and accidentally leave out some details. Fuck me. Anyways, without further ado, let's begin.]
After having checked the state of the scrolls, Asura went to the dining hall to join the others for dinner. At the dining hall, Asura could see that the dishes laid on the tables were not as extravagant as the ones served for breakfast.
As he walked towards where his seat, he noticed the same lanky red haired boy he had seen at breakfast, was now gorging on a roasted wild boar's leg. Recognizing the first friend he had made in the orphanage, Asura felt a sense of familiarity when he saw the red haired boy.
"Khara."
"Mmmph?" Khara glanced to his left and noticed Asura, and eagerly put down his wild boar's leg. "Hey, Asura, where did you go? I wanted to bring you along to the Warrior's Guild to train, but I couldn't find you at your room. Anyways, did you hear about the fight at the Warrior's Guild? My god, I saw that there were 4 magi chasing after a kid!" Khara waved his hands about, while making sounds as if trying to describe the fight he had witnessed, not noticing the brief panicked expression on Asura's face.
"That was close!" Asura inwardly let out a breath. He had almost been seen by Khara, who had also been at the Warrior's Guild.
"Um, I went to look around the shops nearby," Asura lied. Trying to change the topic, Asura quickly said, "By the way, I didn't know you train at the Warrior's Guild. What level are you at?" Curious about Khara's capabilities, Asura could not resist asking.

Back at White Serenity's School, he did not have any friends who was in the same age group as him except for Yong, and was hoping that he could spar with someone who was at the same level as him. Now that there was someone after him, it was even more important to train to fight against humans.
"Oh, what's this? You want to be a warrior too?" Khara devilishly grinned. "You'll know when we spar. What about you? Your seem to be quite well built, probably around the 3rd or 4th level warrior, eh?" Khara casually remarked. Looking closely at Asura's muscles, he could see that Asura was also training on the path of a Warrior.
"Master, this boy does not seem as simple as he looks. Hidden under his thin build are powerful muscles, that rivals a 4th level Warrior. What's more, his eyes..." Choronzon's voice echoed in Asura's head, almost making Asura jump from the shock, as he had totally forgotten about the 500 year old fire demon that was hidden within his consciousness.
"Huh? His eyes?" Asura could not understand what Choronzon was talking about. Looking into Khara's brown eyes, Asura could not detect anything out of the ordinary. "Choronzon, what are you talking about?"
"Never mind. I must be getting old..." Asura could hear a hint of uneasiness in Choronzon's tone.
"Asura, what's wrong? Are you daydreaming?" Khara's voice pulled Asura out from his 'inner conversation'. "Dude, you look tired. You should go to bed early, and then maybe we will go to the Warrior's Guild together to train, if you want." Khara suggested, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
Hearing Khara's suggestion, Asura was also looking forward to training with Khara to find out whether he really had the power of a 4th level Warrior as Choronzon had said. "Why not? I'll go to bed now. Goodnight!" Asura got up from his seat, and was about to head to his room.

"Goodnight! I'll wait for you outside the gates at sunrise." Khara quickly added.
Once Asura reached his room, he immediately locked the door and tucked himself into bed after blowing out the candles in the room. That night, he could not sleep peacefully, as he recalled the scene as he indifferently killed the four men who had attacked him. During the fight, Asura could not remember when his fighting instinct had taken over, entering an emotionless state, and mercilessly massacred the men.
The grassland was dyed red, with body parts strewn about. The faces of the men he had killed during their last moments, their cries of anguish as they stared at Asura in contempt, even after they had died. It felt all too real. And then they would suddenly appear as a whole again, madly running towards Asura, their murderous gazes seemed to bore through Asura's soul.
And every time Asura would cut them down with the 'Blade of Shadow Flame', feeling the edge of the sword slashing through every fiber of their body. He wanted to throw up, but he couldn't. It was so realistic, it was if he would die by just their touch if he was distracted for a single moment.
Desperate, he would cry out, trying to wake himself up from the nightmare.
"Stop!"
"Please! I had no choice!"
"Forgive me!"
However, the mangled bodies of the demons before him would not relent, it was if they wanted Asura to accompany them in death. After what felt like an eternity, the grassland was no longer a grassland, but a sea of blood, with body parts and bones floating about, causing Asura to slow down, whereas the demons seemed unaffected by the density of the crimson sea of blood.
Finally, Asura could no longer take it, and wanted to cut off his own head before the 'demons' could lay a finger on him. Just as he felt the sharp edge of his sword cut through the skin of his neck, he felt his body suddenly turn forwards, The scene before him then changed from the bloody landscape to the brown ceiling of his room.
"Master, you had a nightmare."
