《Winter Sovereign》Chapter 11: Ancestor of the Recquir Clan

Serra followed Eisel and Meileen towards the throne room.
For some reason, there weren't that many guards present.
It was because the King sent them out and he wanted to be alone for some time so he sent out all his guards and servants outside the castle.
There was no fear of assassination for Lucas Recquir was a powerful expert of his own right.
At present, Lucas detected a few people headed towards him.
But upon detecting their aura's, he was shocked and overjoyed and therefore did not attempt to stop them.
Serra and the rest soon reached the throne room.
Similar to the Demon King's throne room, it was luxurious with blue crystals decorating the room.
The Recquir clan was a powerful family who were practioners of ice and water.
There were plenty of sculptures detailing powerful aquatic or icy demonic beasts made out of blue crystals.
""Royal Father!""
The twins exclaimed at the same time.
At the throne sat a regal middle-aged old man.
He had graceful features and looked very suave and handsome.
At present, he was overcome with joy at the sight of his daughters home.
The two daughters hugged their father and were in tears.
"I never thought I'd see you two again..."
Immediately, an aura that radiated of sorrow that could cause men and women alike to weep shone through.
If it weren't for the power of the people near, they would have broken into tears as well.
Interesting. It appears that they heeded my words to focus on cultivation.
Serra thought to himself.
He wasn't disappointed towards his descendants.
"Hm...? And who are these two? They seem familiar to me but who are they?"
"Royal Father, he is our ancestral founder, Serra Recquir!"
"What!?"
Lucas exclaimed.
Immediately, he took a close look at them.

"You are...? Our ancestor?"
Serra smiled at him.
"Indeed I am. Lucas Recquir."
"Wait. How could you possible be our ancestor? I do know that he never died and that he left for the higher planes, but it's impossible for him to return just now..."
How could the king believe such a coincidence?
His daughters were kidnapped yesterday and they return now rescued by their ancient ancestor who happened to return today?
That's simply a dream!
"Well then... Let me show you a bit of my power."
Serra smiled lightly then released his aura for an instant towards Lucas alone.
The others did not feel anything.
In that instant, Lucas felt as though he was stranded within a bottomless ocean.
Utterly unfathomable and he was staring right at a massive beast that he could not hope to match.
"See?"
Serra smiled again.
Lucas returned to his senses.
It was as if the feeling of fear and despair he felt vanished in an instant and he was back in his throne.
But that power... He was certain that he had no hopes of victory against this youth.
And he was also certain that he was a powerful practicioner of water and ice arts.
Even more so then their ancient elders guarding the ancestral shrine.
Lucas knelt before him.
"Lucas, 1041st king of the Recquir Empire greets the ancestral founder."
