"AAHHH!!! GRANNY!!!"
Upon hearing the scream, Cavaron rushed in their home. He was greeted by the panicking girl and an old woman collapsed on the floor.
"Ahh... Mister! Help!" The little girl cried.
"What happened?"
"Granny...Granny was just inspecting your gem... then... then... she suddenly froze and... and she suddenly had seizures and collapsed!"
Cavaron drew near the old woman to feel her pulse. It was weak and faint but he could feel it. Next, he drew his ear next to her mouth to catch some air being breathed out. A small amount of air could be felt.
Stepping back, he checked his items to see if there was anything that may alleviate the situation. Cavaron opened up a rip in space and pulled out a vial of brilliant red liquid.
'This is so hard to get, but really gets the job done... but... I have to dilute it first. Too much might shock her instead.'
Cavaron then faced the little girl.
"Um, little girl..."
"Yes! Ah! Please call me Dita."
"Right, Dita, I need some water. Just a glass will do. I have some medicine that may help but I have to dilute it first."
"Yes!"
Dita rushed off to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and immediately returned.
"Here you go, mister."
"Thank you."
Cavaron proceeded to pour three drops of the red liquid into the glass of water then stirred it a bit.
'Hmm... I can't force someone unconscious to drink this... guess I have to do that.'
"Dita."
"Y-yes?"
"Please leave the room for a while. I need to concentrate."
"But..."
"Please, Dita. Do you want to save your grandmother?"
"Oh... okay..."
Dita hesitantly left Cavaron and the old woman alone.
'I wouldn't want to let such a young girl witness what I am about to do.'
Cavaron drew one of his swords from his waist and cut one of the old woman's veins on her left arm. After opening the wound, he immediately poured the mixture onto it.
Upon contact, the wound absorbed the mixture as if it was drinking it. When the glass became empty, the wound immediately closed.
'Here's where I have to stay alert.'
Cavaron looked at the old woman's face for any signs of effects or discomfort.

Moments passed and Cavaron could see the color of the woman's face return to normal. He then called for Dita to prepare a place where her grandmother could recuperate.
"Is she going to be okay, mister?" asked Dita full of worry.
Cavaron just placed his hand on her head to assure her.
Strangely, Dita liked it when he did that without him noticing it.
Minutes passed and the old woman woke up.
"Hng... oh dear... my back..."
"Granny!"
Dita dive bombed into her grandmother.
"Oof! Dita! Behave yourself!"
"But... granny..."
"Yes, yes. I feel fine now."
The old woman then sat up and finally noticed Cavaron sitting across her.
"Who?"
"Ah, good day, madam. My name is Cavaron. I am the owner of the gems that caused you to faint. Sorry about that."
"Gems? Oh! That gem!"
The old woman suddenly jumped up and rushed at Cavaron despite her age and earlier mishap.
"That gem! Where!? Why!? How did you... Who in Kaldra are you!?"
Cavaron was taken aback by her.
'I guess that medicine was still too effective...'
"Granny! Take it easy, you might collapse again!"
Hearing Dita's voice, the old woman forced herself to calm down. Afterwards, she apologized to Cavaron.
"I'm very sorry about that, mister Cavaron."
"Just Cavaron is fine, Madam Myrn."
The old woman looked shocked when he said her name.
"You are the owner of this shop, right? 'Myrn's Jewelries'?"
"Ah, yes, of course. My excitement got the better of me."
"Madam, maybe you should rest first before we get down to business."
Cavaron stood up and was about to leave.
"I will just wait outside until you are ready."
Dita suddenly ran up to Cavaron,
"Waaiit! Please... stay here... for a while... please... have lunch... here with us!"
and hugged his waist pulling him back.
Cavaron, who found her action endearing looked at Myrn for consent. Myrn nodded.
"Alright, Dita, I'll stay for a while." said Cavaron as he patted her head.
Satisfied, Dita let go of him and went to the kitchen to prepare the food.
Cavaron sat once more across Myrn, and Myrn spoke.
"It seems Dita took a liking to you. I also noticed that she liked the head pats you give her."
"Hn... she reminded me of someone from my past."
"I see. By the way, how did you wake me up?"
'Hm... should I tell her?' Cavaron paused for a while thinking of how to answer her.

"If you don't want to tell me, it's okay. I figured you to be the type with rare and unknown items like the gem you brought."
"Dang, I guess those don't exist here?"
"On the contrary, they do but are rarer than the magma dragons."
Myrn inspected Cavaron for a while before speaking again.
"Cavaron, you... you're not from here, no?"
"Well, yes. I just arrived here earlier today."
"Not that. I meant you're not from this existence."
Cavaron was shocked.
"How..."
"Call it intuition and the wisdom of the aged."
The silence that permeated only lasted until Dita came in with the food.
"Here's the food! Eat up, mister! You too, granny!"
Dita brought in plates of food enough for all three of them, although Cavaron has a noticeably bigger share. Neither the adults minded, though.
Taking a bite, Cavaron smiled and praised Dita to which she smiled as well.
"Ehehe."
They continued eating in silence with Dita occasionally glancing at Cavaron. When they finished eating, Cavaron helped Dita clean up and put away the plates. Afterwards, Myrn called Cavaron over to her personal workshop to discuss about the gems.
"Cavaron, I would like to know something."
"Yes, madam?"
"How did you get here?"
'Hm... should I tell her?'
"To be honest, I suppose that these gems are easily obtainable where you came from."
"Ah... well... I got kidna-- er, summoned here from another world."
"Summoned? So that explains the mana fluctuations around the castle earlier."
"You can sense the mana?"
"Oh yes. Despite being a jeweller, I also work as a small time enchanter. Here, take a look at this ring."
Myrn handed Cavaron a silver ring inlaid with a ruby. Cavaron focused mana into his eyes to see if there is anything strange on the ring. Although slight and weak, his mana sight let him see faint runes enveloping the ring.
"These runes are?"
"I'm surprised you could see the runes, I expected you to just feel the effects."
Cavaron wore the ring, and upon wearing it, he felt his skin becoming tougher the next second.
"Woah."
"Haha. That ring I gave you contains a small Stone Skin rune. A lot of soldiers become my customers because of that little trinket because it saves their lives. Anywho, let's get back to my questions. Did someone from the royalty summon you?"
"Er, yeah. You could say that."
"And? What happened after? It was a long time before you came here."
"Erm, for that, I think you should wait until later."
"Why?"
"It's a surprise...more or less..."
Myrn stared at him for a little while longer before she dropped the issue figuring she won't get any other answer.
"Fine. So, why did you want to sell these gems."
"Frankly, I need money."
Myrn went silent for a bit before speaking again.
"Eh, well. You did just get summoned here. Hm..."
Myrn thought for a while about how much money he could get.
"Let's see. These gems are called Pyrocite here because they can only be found deep within volcanic areas... yet they are abundant from where you came from..."
"Madam, you don't need to pay me the exact amount... Um... how much is it, anyway?"
"The cost? Around 18 Delns for the most perfect Pyrocite."
"Uh... huh..?"
18 Delns! That's 180 million Tyuls, enough to feed a commoner family for a lifetime!
"You could buy six or seven houses in the second ring."
The average industrial guild worker earns around 15-30 Croms a day, and that includes special orders. Merchants, however, earn around 20-40 Sorns a day depending on the sales. A perfect Pyrocite is enough to buy half a Dukedom.
"And... my Pyrocites are perfect?"
"Yes. I think I might have to refer you to a friend in the second ring to get the intended amount."
"Erm, I don't really need that much money."
"No! As my benefactor, I need to pay you back fully."
Myrn then stood up and went to a table to write a letter.
"Here, give this and your Pyrocite to a merchant named Max. He owes me one and I'm sure he has enough money for it."
Myrn then shoved the letter to Cavaron and made sure he accepts it.
"Er, alright, alright. I'll go to the merchant... um, do you know how I could get there?"
"Okay, let me have your map. To go to Max, you need to..."
After receiving directions from Myrn, it's time to say goodbye to the jewellers.
"Mister, will you come back?"
Cavaron crouched down to the little girl who got attached to him in that short time. "Honestly, I'm not too sure of that myself. I'll try to if I have time."
"Promise?"
"Hm, promise. Here, have this as a token of our friendship."
Cavaron opened a rip in space and pulled out a small gemstone. It was a smaller Pyrocite than the one he intended to sell.
"Waahhh... so pretty!"
"Keep this a secret from granny, okay?"
"Yup!"
"Well then, until we meet again."
Dita gave Cavaron a tight hug before letting go and saying goodbye.
Cavaron waved off as he headed to Merchant Max.

Legends of The Wesh: Lochley
The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. People claim that it is connected by The Path of Legends, where Gods traversed trying to find the meaning of their own existence. Others claim that the universe is a Tree, connecting worlds with its extending branches and giving life-bearing fruits to its inhabitants. Several even claimed that the Universe is just a colony of ants, that this universe and the worlds in it are just as insignificant as insects. In one of the Worlds in it, the arrival of someone signaled great changes. Gods will die, Trees will Rot, Insects will burn. Those at the top had fallen and they will upend the worlds trying to claim what was theirs. Those at the bottom have had enough of scraps and they yearned to devour the fruits of the worlds. Those that were innocent and caught in between had no choice but to persist, lest they get erased by the surging tides. Nobody knows where will they end, but everybody knew where they started. They will not be judged, they will not be rebuked, they will not be curbed, they will not be vanquished. The universe is their canvas and it’s time — time to paint their truths upon it. Azrael was born as a prince in the warring world of Ost. Inheriting the title but not its privileges and oppressed by his siblings in every step of his life, he had no choice but to be subservient to their whims until circumstances spiraled him to the abyss, to a new world, and to more agreeable companions. But is he truly free from the past or will it continue to hound him to his new life? Elira had one wish… to be known more than as an offspring of the Great Phasol Family. Talented, hardworking, and stubborn, she struggled to break free from the influence of her family. Everything had been going well in her life but is she strong enough to resist the upheaval and truths of the world? William grew up in an orphanage with nothing to his name. Regaled by various tales of fantasy and greatness by his caretakers, he reached adulthood with the goal of having a legend of his own. Will he make his mark on the world or be forgotten like an ant; crushed by the boot of an unsuspecting traveler. The world of Lochley has been at peace for centuries and its undercurrents are growing restless from waiting… waiting for that spark of opportunity to ignite and swallow the world whole. Some will cause it, some will resist it, and some be drowned by it. Which one will you be?

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!
