1-6. 「Test run & Results」

I decided to go look for a few more goblins to test out this ability more.

In an MMORPG, EXP is one of the most important things a player need in order to become stronger. Of course, there are some games that do not make use of the level system, but that’s a different story.

Though I’ve only tried this once or twice during my days of playing games, I do know of the existence of private game servers. These are basically game servers managed by fans where they can adjust the drop rate or EXP and such. Some of the private servers multiply EXP to x20 and made all cash items freebies for players to experience the feeling identical to cashed-players.

Leveling with this kind of server is extremely easy because everything was absurd. That’s why if I have an ability that multiply EXP given to me by 200 times, it would surely be quite a cheat.

But what makes it more cheat-like is the Skill EXP. According to the information given into my head about this hidden skill, EXP is given to me even when I train my skills and magic. In other words, if I ever acquire a skill and level it up, it would also rapidly go up. The scary thing about this, is that it also applies for itself, which means Rapid Leveling will level up itself under the influence of its own, but it seems like that would take a whole lot of EXP to make it go up even just one level.

「Onii-chan, I think I heard some rustling noises over there…」

「Alright…let’s go find that thing…」

Yui tugged on my sleeve and spoke in a low voice, notifying me that there were signs of something moving behind a bush. Though we haven’t encountered any dangerous monster because we’ve only been going around the edge of the forest, we still needed to be extra careful nonetheless.

As we sneakily approached the noises coming from the moving bush a couple tens of meters before us, I suddenly had the need to check my current EXP. The moment I thought that, the number 「20%」 entered my head. Really…this system is weird and random as fuck…

Then I thought about the EXP of my hidden skill Rapid Leveling itself, and the number 「0.01%」 entered my head. Seems like I still got a ways to go before leveling up this hidden skill.

「Yui…」

「Yes」

Yui stopped a few meters away from the bush while I kept drawing closer. She started to focus on her hidden skill Scorching Princess Levara and began to make a fireball between the palms.

I gulped down my saliva, pulled out my sword and picked up a rock on the ground. The rock was quite heavy despite its moderate size, there must be some metal mixed inside. I took my aim and flung it with all my might at the bush. The rock flew with a quite good speed without putting any strain on my arm. This must be the effect of leveling up to 18.

The black and ugly rock went through the rustling bush and instantly hit something. The thing behind that bush seemed to be a living being as it raised an agony voice, being hit directly by such a heavy object.

The thing rolled on the ground a few times before picking itself up, revealing its true identity as a humanoid-looking monster. Its skin was copper red, its face was ugly with the huge nose and small tusks. Indeed, a Red Goblin, the kind of monster I was looking for.

It looked pretty angry, being disturbed by me while scavenging for some strange-looking grapes as food. The monster instantly picked up the spear it put down on the ground and charged at me, but *baaaang*, a fireball directly hit its flanks from the side. Seems like Yui’s chanting speed went up a few seconds.

Not missing the chance when the monster was lying limp on the ground, I dashed towards it with all I got, trying to figure out the limit of my speed now that I leveled up.

The results were satisfying as I was able to run as fast as I originally was. My stamina also got more endurance and my body is now listening to me more properly. So Level does mean strength in this world huh…

「Ten thousand kilo-pain!!!」

I yelled out a stupid technique name and stabbed my sword down from above, piercing the head of the goblin like a screw-stick fish ball. Speaking of which, I wonder if they have fish balls here. That’s a must for my meals. I used to stay away from it when I was young, but one time my mom got some from her friend and forced it into my mouth.

Yes, indeed. Feeling the sense of enlightenment gushing forth from within me, that day became the day I awaken to fish balls as an addict who must have one or two fish balls in his side dishes.

Ah dammit, my stomach is growling because I suddenly mentioned fish balls…

Shaking myself from stupid thoughts, I pulled the sword out from the goblin’s head and cut off its ear to bring back as a proof like the request paper instructed. Yui also trotted towards me with a smile, saying 「Good job」.

Looking at the goblin’s corpse, my body grew lighter, probably due to leveling up, but my heart grew a little bit heavier. Just a tiny little bit, though.

So I killed twice already huh…well, not that it matters too much. If I don’t kill I’ll get myself killed. I kept telling that to myself to prepare for the possibility of killing…a person. I don’t hope for that day to come too soon, but I definitely already anticipated it to happen…

「Onii-chan…you’re making that face again…」

「Eh? Oh, ah…I was just thinking about stupid……things」

As I turned back to look at Yui again, I noticed her letting loose a button on her uniform shirt. Yui’s humble bosom was revealed slightly and her body odor was also drifting due to being liberated.

I felt flustered. When was the last time I saw her bare skin, I wonder. That would be the time before we separated, I guess, since we used to take a bath together when we were small. Though in this case I won’t blame Yui for undoing a button because of the goddamn heat, I will definitely blame her being too pretty. I mean, what is that, that white and smooth skin didn’t change one bit since she was little……that’s quite, um, unfair you see……

「Oh…? Fufu, pervy onii-chan~」

「Spare me that crap…you’re the one to blame here…」

「Here…do you want to see them in a better angle~ ?」

「Hmm…I don’t hate the offer. But no thanks, now isn’t the time」

「Well, fine~」

Putting her small tits away from tempting me, Yui’s mischievous face returned to normal. In the first place, why the hell did my little sister tempt me with her tits? Well, I guess she was just playing around. That said, I might just be a hentai brother who actually got turned on seeing his little sister’s bare chest skin.

Well, that aside…

I confirmed my level, and indeed, it went up drastically again, from 18 to 25. I also confirmed the amount of EXP I got being less than the first Red Goblin. The reason is because this one is smaller, it wielded worse weapon, the fight ended too quick, and my level already went up a lot after the first one.

So the concept of EXP stays true to its name, that is the experiences you get during battles. I struggled my ass off against the first Red Goblin, dodging its slashes and attacking it at the same time. But that gave me combat experiences, which was converted to EXP. This second Red Goblin, I ended it in one strike with Yui’s help, there wasn’t much combat experiences happening so I didn’t get as much EXP.

When I asked Yui, seemed like she also got to LV.81 under the influence of my skill as my companion. We didn’t really know the exact number, but I made a guess that it was about 20~35% of whatever the amount of EXP I got.

We moved on to find our next test subject. This time the opponent was quite tough. The Red Goblin was almost as tall as Yui and it wielded an axe, probably looted from dead adventurers somewhere.

It was indeed a tough battle of me dodging around and injuring the monster to get its attention while Yui chant fireballs. Yui made some smart moves and hit the monster at where I injured it beforehand and thus dealt more damage to it than normal.

On my part, though my kenjutsu is the most shabby shit you would ever see in swordsmanship history, it worked out somehow as an immediate mean to protect myself from being sliced in half instead of the monster. Continuing like that for a while and we took down the huge Red Goblin with me dealing the finishing blow to its neck, decapitating the monster cleanly.
