Chapter 16 – Reunion

Going back was simple for Ryo as he could already see if there’s an enemy around with his map out, it’s was a total cheat. While checking he notice a party of 5 people were moving very quickly, when he checked, it was Nanami previous party, there were looking very desperate and sometimes the only women left [warrior3] in the party would be crying. They were still far away from Ryo, probably reaching to them in about 2-3 days depending how fast they could run.

‘Is it because they just realize we were going to the beastman village or something else had happen?’

“Hey Nanami, is your parents over-protective of you?” (Ryo)

“Not sure whether I should be grateful or not, but yeah they are very over-protective. I was only recently able to join the guild. I was stuck inside my house for most of the time. They even told me that if I couldn’t beat their best knight, I am unable to ever join the guild.” (Nanami)

“You had your own difficulty huh… I assume the previous party that was with you is the ones that was being hired by your parents?” (Ryo)

“………Yeah and here I thought they were normal adventurer that wanted to join me” (Nanami)

“Oh, when I just got to Kitaro village, I heard you were going around asking people to join your party? What exactly happen?” (Ryo)

“Embarrassing enough, the previous party went up to me and said that anyone that would want to join my party would have to go through them first. I thought that all adventurer respect and were kind because of them, well until I realize that all of the guys in my party were looking down on the commoner and the people that join the guild. Except one women that was neutral, she’s one of the knight in the party, at first I didn’t recognize her because she change, and some bits of her looks different.” (Nanami)

“Ryo why do you want to know so much about Nanami?” (Reena)

“Reena why do you always question what I do?” (Ryo)

“Eh? ….. Ah… I’m sorry” (Reena)

“Hmm once in a while, I don’t mind but I don’t really like it when you do it every time.” (Ryo)

“R-really??” (Reena) She shown her brightest smile towards Ryo

‘Did I just made it worse?’ (Ryo)

Desilviron Kingdom has break an alliance pact with the Capital of Hiiro

“What is serious?” (Reena)

“Do you guys know about Desilviron Kingdom and the Capital of Hiiro?” (Ryo)

“You mean you don’t know?” (Nanami)

‘Arh… I don’t know what to say’ (Ryo)

“Nanami, Ryo the kinds that don’t really care about this stuff unless it affects him…” (Nanami)

‘Even though she’s trying to help me… but that explanation… It’s probably true anyway… Sigh…’ (Ryo)

“A-Anyway, Ryo …..” (Reena)

Reena explain to Ryo that Desilviron Kingdom is a Kingdom rule by the demons, while Capital of Hiiro is rule by humans. The special thing about the Capital of Hiiro is that it is place at the center of the map. Having its left side beings humans while on the other side is the beastman, elves and the demons. In order to get the full profit they become neutral that’s why there are peace in this world. It is also precisely why it’s called the Capital, because anyone can go there, there’s no discrimination of races. Even the ones that is hated a lot like the demi-humans (hybrid of demon and human) and behyuman (hybrid of beastman and human) stay there.

While Reena were explaining Nanami were nodding each time, not sure whether she agreeing or she learning it now as Ryo. The monster that approach them were getting lesser and lesser, even their level is not what it used to be, it is too low.

When Ryo asked the rest of the people why the monster is lesser than before, they all just shrugged their shoulders. They didn’t suspect anything bad and dismiss it, the blazing 4 just focused on getting back to their village so that they can get their reward as soon as possible.

Furthermore the merchant Takumi, he express his thanks to Ryo and was trying to please Ryo as much as he could, he even gave out an offer of giving Ryo 30% of all of the profit he had when selling their merchandise and in return he would like Ryo to work with him. Of course Ryo decline without hesitation.

That night, Reena and Nanami were complaining softly about how they would like to take a bath as soon as possible, Ryo also joined them by nodding his head. Unfortunately for them, there are no lakes around here. Ryo unconsciously was trying to stop thinking about the news that he heard from the windows popping out but he can’t ignore it knowing that people will suffer…. Nah the real reason that if there’s war he couldn’t help to think all those unlimited experience and gashapons, so if he could he wouldn’t want to miss it, every person he kills will let him gain 10 permanent stats points who wouldn’t want it.

Unexpectedly when Ryo lay down his tent, Reena pretended to be sleepy and lay down her tent beside his. Nanami were looking at Reena while smiling, she gave Ryo a nod before she lay down hers beside Reena. Ryo feels awkward whenever he and Nanami were alone, Reena fell asleep while she was pretending to sleep in return Ryo didn’t wake her up during supper. Both Nanami and Ryo were eating without minding each other. It was silent around their camp fire though there were a few times they heard the blazing 4 and the merchant were laughing loudly.

It was Nanami that started the conversation…

“How did you met up with Reena?” (Nanami)

“She came out of nowhere and told the bandits that she were going to help them kill me.” (Ryo)

Ryo didn’t lie to Nanami, he thought his first encounter with Reena were extremely hilarious that’s why he doesn’t want to lie.

“Oh” (Nanami)

Nanami didn’t let out any emotions and replied normally, Ryo doesn’t know whether she believe it or not. After that they never speak anymore and just gone back to sleep. The very next morning while Ryo in his tent he heard the conversation from those two party of his.

“Reena, how did you met up with Ryo?” (Nanami)

“…It’s embarrassing to tell you...” (Reena)

“Oooohhh that is different from what Ryo told me” (Nanami)

“Eh!? He told you!? What…. What did he say?” (Reena)

“He told me, you came out of nowhere and told the bandits that you were going to help them kill him…” (Nanami)

When Nanami said that, Reena face turn red, she quickly tried to hide herself by putting both hands on her face. Reena also crouch down while pouting. Nanami were astounded, this shows that what Ryo told her was the truth.

“Y-You….Are you serious?” (Nanami)

“huuu… I can’t believe he just easily told you that…” (Reena)

“Why? Why were you trying to kill him?” (Nanami)

“T-That …. No! Even if you are my best friend, I won’t tell you!” (Reena)

“Sigh…. Alright…” (Nanami)

“T-thanks…” (Reena)

Reena was about to recover back when….

“I guess you got talent in becoming a bandit huh…” (Nanami)

“Nanami!!” (Reena)

Nanami giggled while she started to pack up her tent, she also notice Ryo was awake and was laughing. Ryo came out from his tent pretending he didn’t heard anything and packed up his tent.

Their breakfast was even more awkward, Reena was still pouting because of how Ryo just told her most embarrassing thing to Nanami while Nanami had teased her. They didn’t say anything but Ryo and Nanami were smiling.

After eating they continued their journey, It was duller than when they were going to Rewoi village, no monsters were attacking them. The good news was that, when Ryo use his map out, he notice that Nanami previous party were about to reached them.

Ryo were about to off his skill when Nanami previous party were attacked, not 5 but at least more than 40 monsters. It cause Ryo to panic for a bit, he quickly shouted to both Reena and Nanami to protect the carriage. The blazing 4 party quickly ready themselves up, thinking that monster were attacking but Ryo just told everyone that there’s a party in front of them were being attacked by a lot of monster.

Without waiting for a reply Ryo dash off, but Ryo felt different, his speed were too fast. As this is the first time that he was trying to run as fast as he could, he couldn’t control his speed well. He was about to hit on one of the trees, in a panicked state, he unconsciously activate his slow skill but he realize that it didn’t even change anything, as time only slowed down but he didn’t.

Ryo collided on one of the trees though, he wasn’t injured much but the tree were destroyed and he gain a skill, without hesitation he levelled it up to the max.

Time Lapse

Ryo slowly able to control his speed and not colliding anymore obstacles, he is able to reach to the party within 5 minutes. The party were still fighting with the monster, even though they 1.5 day away from Kitaro village, the monster that were attacking them is much more powerful than usual.

They only able to defeat 3 monsters so far, unfortunately it looks like they were ambush as the female warrior were separated from them. She was fighting desperately alone with some ogres and goblins. Looking around, Ryo were shocked to see all of the monster were only attacking the party, not any one of them were trying to hit each other. Thus Ryo knew that there are was a leader among them.

The party still didn’t realize Ryo was already there helping them to kill most of the monster, while he was fighting he accidentally saw a fireball that were coming towards the female warrior. As he doesn’t want Nanami to be sad he quickly help her to defend. Ryo carried the female warrior like a princess and jump to safety. The fireball hit the goblin that was fighting the warrior previously, to the face. It exploded and the goblin head were missing.

‘damn that magic has no mercy…’ (Ryo)

“W-WHO?” (female warrior)

“Relax, it’s just me. No time for introduction.” (Ryo)

“Huh?” (female warrior)

It took her some time to realize she was being carried by Ryo but after knowing, she were struggling to get away from Ryo, she blush and was glaring at Ryo

“P-Put me down!!” (female wairror)

“Alright, alright” (Ryo)

Ryo drop her to the ground and continue to fight, he didn’t care much for the safety of the party, his first priority were to kill all of the monsters. As he realize that only monster that were killed by him drop a gashapon.

“Arghh…H-Hey!! ” (female warrior)

The warrior didn’t expect Ryo to just drop her like that, it made her angry but Ryo ignored and clean up all of the monster. The rest of the party finally saw him, due to how Ryo and already killed most of the monster, they were able to get back together. Every monster he killed he quickly grab the gashapon and activate it.

After killing almost all of the monster, he was too excited and started laughing. Seeing his status made him extremely happy. The best thing was, he was able to increase all of his stats as there were a lot of different type of monsters. He thought to himself that now he probably won’t suffer anymore, not like he was suffering previously. As most of the level of the monster defeated is levelled 40 and above, the amount of stats he get each were 10 times higher than what the normal goblins gave him. He also uses his turn back time skill to repair his armour and weapons that was damage from the fight.

Meanwhile the party that was staring at Ryo were speechless seeing how powerful Ryo was, from the fight Ryo were able to kill the goblin king easily with only 3 actions.
