-The next day-
A man wearing what appears to be a military like outfit walks towards the manor the noble brought Sera to the day before. In front of the doors to the manor stood the noble who owned the place with Sera next to him.
“Sir Albert I believe your son is ready to leave for the academy if not a suitable replacement should have been prepared in advance.”
“Of course I prepared someone who will most certainly be a huge asset to the future of your academy.”
“I assume it’s the demibeast next to you”
“Indeed, I have gotten her tested and the results are satisfactory to say the least. She should have no problem in coping up with your academy standards.”
“Hmmmm.. I shall take your word for it. But if she doesn’t meet academy standards I will be back. Come along now child.”
The man said as he gestured for sera to follow him. Sera obediently followed the man. As they walked to the carriage the man had used to travel he started to talk to Sera.
“If you do get enrolled do not expect to have much freedom as we are very strict with our students no matter their race. If you do well you will climb the ranks if you do badly you will forever remain at the bottom of the heap. Our academy only cares about result nothing else matters so if you do well you will be rewarded accordingly. You will hear the rest at the academy opening ceremony for new students.”
Sera quietly nodded her head to the brief explanation the man gave her.
-The academy-
As she arrived at the academy she noticed a crowd of children gathered at the entrance surrounded by adults. There were about 20 of them and they all seemed to be around her age. There were however no demibeast among them. As the carriage stopped the man ordered her to go to the crowd of kids. One of the adults faced towards the group and begin talking.
“Now as I’m sure you are all aware you are to be enrolled in our academy to learn how to kill daema to help our world become a better place.During your education you will be living in a dorm on academy grounds ,and you aren’t allowed home except for a break once a year. Our academy will provide you with the knowledge and equipment needed to carry out the missions we provide our students however missions will not be given to children your age. Rather at your age studying martial arts, magic and various other important subjects will be all you will be doing. Another important thing to note is that our academy has a ranking system that starts from E all the way to SS. As kids you will be not given a rank until you reach the age of 12 or getting at least 5 years of education here even if you aren’t 12. Naturally by then you will be given the lowest rank of E. To raise in ranking you are required to participate in an annual exam to rank up. Your education will last until you reach 20 to ensure you are ready and fully prepared. After your education depending on the rank you graduated as you, will be able to choose numerous occupations in the future including but not limited to continue working for us to complete missions involving the extermination of daema. If you continue working for us your rank will continue to play a big part but if you choose else where your rank will determine how good of a job you will be able to secure. We are well known in the entire continent so a high rank gurantee a good future. However anyone deemed A rank or higher are simply too strong to allow to leave. If you reach such a rank you are forced to work for us in the future but we will provide a suitable compensation with a life of luxury when not in missions. Also everyone present here is to be your classmates and the adults are your teachers. “

Sera and the group of children followed the adults. As they were walking she could hear them talk about her as they stared at her ear and tails that were in plain sight.
“Female students follow the female teachers, male students please follow the male teachers they will show you to your dorm you will be living in for the rest of your life as a student in the academy unless you reach a rank higher than D.”
After reaching the dorm the teacher gave each student the room number they were assign to. Apparently lessons won’t start today and the students are allowed to get a acquainted with one another.
“I can get stronger here. Stronger than the people who killed my family. Stronger, I’m here to be stronger.” Sera thought to herself as she slowly walked to the door with similar writing on it as the key she was given. The thought of getting stronger played in her head like a broken recorder.
-The other girls-
“You saw that Demibeast she is so cute.”
“Yeah she was so adorable. Too bad she looked gloomy.”
“Haven’t your parent taught you how scary a demibeast is.”
“Ehhhh. She looked cute though, but are all demibeast eyes like her.”
Some of the girls who weren’t from noble house hold and were in a situation similar to Sera went to their room instead of gossiping with the daughter of the nobles. They were mostly races like dwarfs and fairies. Fairies were normally around the height 130cm with the ability to create wings on their back that looked somewhat like a butterfly wings.
-sera pov-
Sera looked around her room which she would be living in form now on. It was a rather small room but it was big enough for her. There was a bed ,cupboard and a clock which by itself took about ¼ the room space. Not bothered by the noisy chatter being created by some of the girls outside she went towards the bed and lied down. As she lay down on her bed she visualized the horror of the day her tribe got attacked again telling herself if she was stronger they would be alive. “Strength is what determines everything the strong can do what they want and the weak don’t have the power to stop them.” This was Sera mentality as of now she believes strength is what she needs nothing else matters.
-The next day-
Sera awoke in the bed she fell asleep in due to the noise of students outside opening their room door. Opening her eyes she got up and left her room, what greeted her were the other students who were wearing similar attire.

“Why aren’t you in uniform yet? The morning briefing is about to start.” one of the students asked her.
Sera looked confuse since she wasn’t sure where she was able to get a uniform.
“Its in the cupboard provided. Just take the size that fits you.”
Sera went back into her room and opened the cupboard. True enough there was uniform of different sizes. She took one that seem to be her size. She put the uniform on and realized the skirt had no opening for her tail. She tried compressing the wind into a small ball and pushed the ball of wind into the back of the skirt. The wind easily cut a hole through the fabric. She then wore the skirt and pushed her tail through the opening she created. For her undergarment she just continued to use the ones the noble house provided to her during her brief stay there. After putting on the uniform she quickly left her room to go to the morning briefing.
Sera exited the dorm and joined the crowd of students who were lined up in front of the teacher they met yesterday. The teacher brought them to a arena like area with a table and some weird sticks on the table. The boys were also brought to the same place by the male teacher.
“Today we will be determining the weapon you will be specializing in during battle. Everybody has a weapon that suits them best and naturally it would be beneficial to learn said weapon from young. So today we will be using a device that will analyze your preferred combat style and would transform to a weapon it determines to be best suited for you.”
The teachers picked up the sticks and started giving them to the students. Eventually the teacher also gave one of them to Sera.
“To use the device it requires you to pour some mana into it. So today we will be teaching you how to release the mana that is inside your body.”
The teacher started explaining how to release mana from ones body. Sera rather than listen to the teacher tried to control the stick the same way she would normally do to elements she would try to control. The stick slowly grew larger and a huge blade extended out of it. The thing had turned into a huge sword about the same size as sera whole body.
“Ahh it seems someone succeeded. Her weapon appears to be a claymore. Now the rest of you please try it as I have explained it. The students around her tried to pour their mana into the device but none of them were able to achieve similar results as sera until some time had passed.
The rest of the day was the teachers teaching each student the basics of their new weapon. There were also indoor lessons where different teachers taught the class various important things about combat and also about normal education expected out of any other school in the kingdom.
That was the start of Sera life in the academy.
