《Reincarnation》Chapter 8

-Ria POV-
I decided to return back to my dorm due to the fatigue I have accumulated throughout the day mainly from the examination but a little of it was due to the fact the boy named Lionel didn’t mind talking to a demibeast. This made me curious whether there exist more people similar to him. If there were such people the likelihood of finding more of them in the academy was unlikely since most of the people here seem to come from prestigious families whose education involves teaching them that demibeast are violent and dumb. Nevertheless I was somewhat happy that a person like him exist within the academy. Were humans truly as bad as I have always thought they were I asked myself as I lay in the tiny bed that I have been using since I first moved into the dorm. The fatigue from the day eventually silenced my thought as I slowly drifted off into my dreams.
……………..
“You can’t trust them……. You can’t trust anyone….They are all the same… none are to be trusted you have no one in the world.” a strangely familiar voice echoed within her mind.
I opened my eyes and the figure that greeted me was none other than myself. The surrounding was a never ending abyss of darkness there was nothing here but the reflection of myself which stood in front of me.
“Who are you?” I said as I stared at the girl who looked exactly as I did.
“I’m you, you are me. We are but one being. There is no one for us in this world we have but each other.” She said with a voice without any form of emotion within it.
Just as suddenly as she appeared she faded back into the darkness, it was at that moment I woke up in the room I’m all too familiar with. It all seemed so real yet now I was alone. I can’t deny the truth in her words I don’t think its wise to trust anyone simply due to the fact he was kind to me. I strengthen my resolve as I got up to get ready for the next round which was to be held today.

-Sera POV-
I was born in the world the same time as my other self was. Yet I had no control over my body but I saw all that she saw and experienced all that she did. I felt what she felt I loved who she loved. We are one I’m her, she was me. She wasn’t aware of my existence but I was always there. The first time I gained control over our body was when she witnessed our tribe getting slaughtered by the humans. I killed them all I will leave none who hurt us alive. They don’t deserve to live they all deserved death. I protected us from the monster that attacked us by creating the wings from our body I won’t let her get hurt I will protect her. All the beings who have caused our grief deserved death but I never gained full control ever since so I couldn’t destroy them. My other self was too kind for her own good not willing to slaughter the race who murdered our brethren.
As the years went by and I watched her endure the torments in the accursed academy, any faith I had for all living things dwindled eventually fading away all together as I watched her suffer day by day. I trust no one everyone is an enemy only her only she my other self I can trust. She no longer used our real name Sera instead she used the name Ria which was given to her by the accursed human. It was around then I decided that i will use Sera our old name as my name. She trusted the demon boy but I knew better he would betray her eventually when that time comes I will kill him and any that hurt her.
We have been one since our birth. She who has suffered and I who watched it all happen. One day I will get the revenge which we deserved I will kill all our enemies. Nothing in this world except Ria matters she is the only thing I care about for she is the only thing that matters.

-Ria POV-
The dream I had last night was still in my mind as I walked towards the hall where the top 100 students were gathering at for the briefing before the tournament. The briefing by the teacher was extremely short. The main point to remember was no killing is allowed and that students would use their real weapon in the tournament. The order of the match were revealed and it would all take place in arena A. I had my weapon on my belt as I walked towards the arena.
Upon reaching the arena I was instructed on where I should go to wait for my match. They told us that our they would inform us when we were to have our match via the device. When I reached the waiting room a familiar student walked up towards me. He was the boy named Lionel whom I met yesterday. He wanted to know if I was planning to take any of the classes offered to the D rank students. Classes were no longer compulsory but as you advanced through ranks you were given the option to take classes for more advance techniques. I kept the conversation brief by informing him I was still unsure if I want to take any classes.
Eventually my turn came and I left the waiting room to enter the arena. There was a crowd of spectators who were mostly parents of the students taking part or nobles who were interested in such a match. My opponent was a human who was took out his weapon and supplied the mana needed to make the blade. His weapon took the form of a katana. I took out my weapon and supplied mana to my weapon as well. As usual my mana was off a weird colour. My blade was a mix of the normal blue mana most people have and a pitch black mana was mixed together which was what formed my weapon. My opponent looked shocked at the colour of my mana which was obviously abnormal.
As soon as the match started my opponent dashed forward and swung his katana downwards. I easily parried his blow. I lifted my claymore and countered with a vertical slash. He tried to his blade to block it but my blade easily cut his blade in half. He looked shock and to be honest I was shocked as well since his blade offered almost no resistance to my slash. I continued to cut his blade as soon as he formed one which eventually lead him to give up. It was a really easy win but my curiosity towards my mana peaked since I realized that it seemed to be much stronger than normal mana. Since my match had ended I walked back towards the waiting room for my next match which will be held several hours later.
-Crowd-
-various different people-
“Did you see her blade her mana looked weird.”
“What kind of mana is that ?”
“Isn’t that cheating her weapon is obviously better.”
“What kind of mana is that”
“That little girl is really pretty though”
“That demibeast had weird mana”
The people who came to watch the match were shocked at the weird mana the girl seemed to possess as their conversations about it continued to spread around the audience.
-Principal POV-
-From the Vip seat-
“Tell me who that girl is I would like to know her background.” He said as the match unfolded before his very eyes.
“She belongs to noble who bought her from somewhere.” His secretery calmly replied after checking the data.
“Arrange a meeting with this noble who owns her and tell him I would like to buy her from him”
“Very well sir I will arrange a meeting”
The principal grinned because he found this unexpected surprise from visiting the E rank promotion exam on a whim. A never before seen mana he simply must obtain her no matter the cost.

Destinatus
Volume 1: Follows the story of an amnesiac named Gratus whose narrative reflects the fragmentation in his mind. His journey to restore his memories pits him against monsters and questionable allies that seem to want him dead. Volume 2: Prequel to volume 1 that follows Cogito's narrative, a rising star that is tied to a family legacy he cannot escape. Connects the fragments in volume 1 and expands on the world of Dominia. **Author’s Note: Cover Art and Synopsis is subject to change. I just wanted to post my story here to get feedback and improve it, so it’s okay to be brutally honest! What I am posting is a rough draft so I don't mind rewritting whole chapters and segments of stories as long as it doesn't make the story worse haha. **Author’s Note: LitRPG elements begins in Volume 2, same with potentially traumatising content.

8 64The Crisis on Planet 9
Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets. Will Kardian be able to survive in this new savage world or will his naive outlook lead him to a dead end? Volume 1 can be bought on Amazon: Resonance High
