《Nanite World: A Sci-Fi LitRpg set in reality》Chapter 9: Tutorial Complete

When the boss monster appeared, we did exactly what we had originally planned to do. We stayed on the top floor and waited to be attacked.
About ten minutes after the warning of a boss monster appeared, two blue boxes appeared simultaneously.
The Wolf King has been defeated! Your percentage of damage: 0.00% Loot Gained: N/A Wolf Pack Monster Horde Destroyed. Completion Rate: 100% Your Percentage of damage: 0.2% Loot Gained: 1 Chunk
I let out a sigh of relief as that happened. Gregory let out a cheer beside me. He turned towards me and gave me a hug. "We did it Tony! We did it!"
I rubbed his head when he let me go. "We sure did Gregory."
By then, we'd become fairly hungry. Gregory wanted to go downstairs to the kitchen, but he looked hesitant about what to do. I solved the issue by using flight to descend to the first floor. Pushing one of the couches over to the stairs, I urged Gregory to jump. He did, though not without letting out a scream.
Once he was down, we both descended upon the fridge like the wolves we had slain. Ryan pulled out some frozen meals and popped them in the microwave. I noticed that there wasn't any frost in the freezer, something very unusual. The packages felt cold though.
The microwave had the cardboard box containing some eggrolls rotating on a glass platter. The light was on and it was, for all intents and purposes, just like any microwave. I knew, though, that this wasn't possibly a real microwave. The electromagnetic radiation of the microwave would have bounced off the metal nanites that composed the meal, causing the inside to spark and possibly catch on fire.
When we took out the egg rolls, they felt hot and tasted great. Another mental illusion probably. There wasn't any steam when they were taken out of the microwave either, another strike in their favor. Still, I put all my negative thoughts out of my mind as I started eating. It didn't matter whether they were made of nanites or not, the egg rolls still tasted delicious.

Once we had eaten, we both decided to sleep. Since there wasn't a way to get upstairs, which was where Gregory's room was, Gregory took his parent's bed. I took the couch, sleeping under the hole where the stairs used to be. I was exhausted. From the time I woke up, to the time that the Wolf King had been defeated, almost five hours had passed. The second I laid down on the couch, I passed out.
All over the world, different attacks happened on each and every city. New York, New York had to face swarms of pigeons, their monster wave having close to a million monsters needing to be destroyed. Hawaii was plagued with seagulls. Raleigh, North Carolina was stampeded with deer.
Boss monsters appeared without fail after each monster wave was completeed. A deer more than twice the normal size, its antlers firing laser beams appeared. A wolf with silver fur emerged in Silicon Valley, its roar causing people to freeze in place. A rabbit with a horn that was coated in plasma hopped its way downtown.
Each time they emerged, brave people fought back. The deer was shredded as dozens of lasers slashed through its shields. A grenade landed in the wolf's mouth, a lucky throw that caused the wolf to lose its head. The rabbit went down, an electrical bolt causing it to lose its protective shielding.
One by one, the hundreds of boss monsters all over the world were defeated. It wasn't without a price. Small towns that couldn't handle the large amounts of monsters disappeared, their inhabitants destroyed back to level one before they faded to oblivion. Millions of people died but respawned, their levels permanently reduced.
Gang fights broke out amidst the chaos in Chicago, the police attempting to step in. A nuke was launched from North Korea, though it merely landed with a thud in the pavement of Washington. Its radioactive warhead was disabled, the Game Administation Director not allowing such widespread destruction this early on in the game.

Finally, fifteen hours after everyone awoke, it was done. Every monster wave was over, whether it ended in victory or failure.
With that complete, the next stage of Nanite World would commence.
I woke up to a woman screaming. Frightened, I grabbed the laser pistol on the ground next to me, ready to fight off whatever was scaring the lady. Quick glances around with blurry eyes revealed a women in a pale blue skirt with a pearl necklace screaming as she pointed at me.
"Get out! Get out! Get out! This is my house and you're trespassing! Get out! Get out!"
As what she was screaming finally registered with my tired brain, I started to chuckle. That turned into full-blown belly laughter as I rolled on the floor. She was glaring at me while I laughed, but I didn't care. Gregory ran into the room. When he saw his mom, he immediately ran up and hugged her. She jumped, startled, but hugged him back when she saw who it was.
I slowly recovered from my laughter as Gregory and his mom started crying. A man rushed into the room as well. "What's wrong honey?!" He yelled. When he saw Gregory, the man was dumbstruck. His mouth opened and closed as he approached Gregory. When he got close, he enveloped his wife and son in a hug, his arms attempting to wrap around both of them.
By this time, I had finally stopped laughing. Going into the kitchen, I poured myself a glass of milk. This was a private moment that I had no business interfering with.
About ten minutes later, Gregory and his parents came into the kitchen. His mom spoke first, saying, "Thank you for watching out for our son. He already told us about what you've done for him. There is nothing we could do that would repay you."
I shook my head in denial. "Your welcome, but it was something that anyone should do."
The dad spoke up now. "We would have been home sooner, but the car was destroyed by a grenade. We had to walk here from downtown which is why we took so long."
I nodded in understanding. "Well, I imagine that Gregory is happy you're here. Anyway, I'll head off. Wouldn't want to disturb a family reunion and I need to get back to my house."
Before they could say something, a blue screen appeared in front of me.
All of the monster waves have been completed! You have now passed the Tutorial. Initializing Nanite World Update. All living organisms will be temporarily taken offline as the world adjusts.
That was the last thing I saw before the world turned black.
