《An Average Zombie's Path of Evolution》Chapter 5 - The Lonely life of a hunter

A week has passed since the apocolypse began. I no longer hunt at day since a recent accident, a sniper spotted me and blew off a finger of me hand while i was clinging to a building. I sincierly used to think i was powerful since i could crush concrete with my bare hands but my expectations were crushed.
Recently human strongholds had began to pop up and were attacked by commander zombies along with hoards, i joined some of thoes raids but most of them were failures and i almost lost my life to a strange girl who shot a water bolt at me. luckily a hole on the stomach is not enough to kill a zombie, i recovered after a day of rest.
The moon was shining and sounds of gunshots rang across the city skylines. I neared a survivor camp looking for easiy pray. Tall steel electric fences protected a millitary encampment, various soldiers with guns patroled the area and rays of light coming from guard towers constantly illuminated the dark streets. I held my breath and waited near an opening behind a supply tent where there was little to no lighting.
-"charlie go get a crate of rice their in the back"
-"yes Mr.Soldier" a little kid about seven to eight years old walked out the tent and headed towards the crates of food supplies, he shined his flashlight at the various crates and finally found one with a rice label on it, however as he crouched and picked it up the hairs on his back stood up, he prepared to run but it was too late. A large cold gray hand held onto his neck and instantly snaped it.
When the soldier when to check on charlie all he found was a pool of blood and a hole in the fence, this started a night of unrest for the millitary camp.

Recently whenever im jumping from building to building or stalking prey i feel a strange feeling run through my body, as if i was being followed... but who would wan't anything to do with a simple zombie?... maybe humans wan't to experiment with me?!!! are they trying to find a cure and need a subject? scared by , my line of thinking i began to hunt even later at night, however the feeling percieved.

A wierd event happened today, two commander zombies joined hands and are now commanding an army towards a small human base. While sneaking along with a group of hunters i found myself tracking after a beautiful girl with red hair, only problem is it seems she can sure bite, she sensed me and through a knife at me, luckily it just got stuck in my shoulder and i rapidly escaped with my tail between my legs.
"hurry up and start the truck we gotta ditch them"
A group of surrvivors were preparing to flee by themselves by using the camp as a decoy, a car hidden behind the base started and they boarded.
"grawww" i grawled at a group of hunters telling them to follow me, they did and we hid around the car. When they started the car we attacked in unison, two hunters used their powerful hands and pulled the heads of two survivors cramped in the back of the car, another four seperated into two groups of two and simultaneously attacked, one pulled out the door from the car while the other reached in to the front seats and pulled out the driver and the guy sitting in the passanger seat.

Facing such a quick and well coordinated attack the humans wern't able to even put on a fight.
Enjoying my meal a pleasant sound rang throughout my mind.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
