《The Last King》Not A Chapter

So those two other ideas i spoke of in chapter twenty, here they are.
In the story of the scene found, Roland was a young boy summoned from another world who held great talent in swordsmanship and magic. A pretty generic setting.
He was OP, but not as OP as he is in TLK. The scene was set in the headquarters of a powerful church who has sent one of their trusted members to seek out Roland as because he had caused a great disturbance by killing off several organizations of the underground society.
This feat was shocking and the church was wary of someone like that. The scene I found was of the spy's description/impressions of Roland, saying that he was a very charismatic and talented young man who valued his companions. From there, plans were made to entice Roland into joining the church as one of its guardian knights. Keep in mind that Roland being summoned was not something widely known, and he was held prisoner for several hard months before escaping. His talent in swords and magic were such that he could comprehend comlicated spell or techniques almost instantly.
Only by not displaying his true ability and taking in all they taught him did he get powerful enough to escape from the place that held him, a group that wanted to train "Heroes" from other worlds and use them as weapons .The time prior to the escape was filled with nonstop fighting and death. After, he did as he pleased, eliminating things he saw as "evil" and leading two other escapees he took with him, young girls named Reina and Lilith.
And that was it. I never got far in that one.
The Second Idea I remember much more clearly because after some searching I found the notebook i wrote it in. I only had like four chapters, but i wrote A LOT in those chapters.

Any way, it was to have Roland and the girls be step siblings who had a close yet at the same time distant relationship. I had wanted to make Roland the caring, reliable brother type who was always off on some unknown business. This cause the girls to be seemingly uncaring for Roland as they believed he did not care for them either, despite the great deal of love and affection they all had for one another as children,
The girls were around 17 with him a few years older, maybe 19 or so. Just like in TLK. I wanted it to be a supernatural story where there was a concept of Gifts, special abilities that gave great power. Now, this was kept a secret from the general populace and Roland and the girls had many enemies within this secret society. The girls, who had lost their birth parents early, were adopted by Roland's family. Roland had always know about Gifts and the secret society since his family was a military family that had a long history, and trained him since young to for a specific purpose. After Roland's parents died, he kept the girls unaware of the secret society.
Why? Because the three come from families who has a very powerful Gift that is passed down to each memeber. The other members, from branch families, had already been killed and harvested for their Gifts.
With both sets of parents dead, the three were the last of each family to posses the special Gifts. Whats more, their Gifts are even more powerful than those are the branch families, as the main branch has the full power of the Gift in their hands due to their bloodline being much more pure. Even the parents, though, were not as Gifted as the three. And Roland, having a Gift that made him a powerful warrior, was one of the most feared of the Gifted. I apparently gave the backstory of a ruthless killer to him. I still like that idea.

So Roland went out to keep the enemies away, killing or manipulating whoever wanted to capture them for their Gifts. This meant that he always returned from his trips injured, but had wore dark suits and such to keep the injuries from being noticed by the two. Basically if it was an injury that could be hidden he would return. If not, he would stay away. The girls were secrety kept safe by one of Roland's most trusted allies when he was away, a young teacher at the school they attended whose name was Abigail. Sound familiar?
Anyway, Roland eventually recieved a great injury after an intense battle with an enemy who had used special methods to track him. Although not fatal, it was discovered by the girls and as they examined his body, they found many scars on his torso and back before Abigail healed his injury with her Gift, one she was told by Roland to never use as it made her give up a fraction of her lifespan as compensation.
The two girls demanded the truth of what happened and Abigail told them everything, even going so far as to blame them for all of Roland's past injuries and such, saying that if they didnt exist then he would not have to put himself in danger.
And that was what I wrote up to. I dont know exactly what relationship i wanted Abigail and Roland to have, but she had always really resented the two girls for making Roland go so far as to take on such risks for them. All this was probably not very well written as i kinda glossed over a bit. I dont want to continue either of those two stories. Okay, maybe the second one. But i wont. Probably. Unless i am realllly~ bored. But i want to focus on TLK.
So, those were my two stories that didnt make the cut. I think i just forgot about them is why. Well, whatever. heh, writing them down here was fun. Anyway, later. Im tired. Good night. Or good morning. Whichever.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
