Chapter 8
Regular POV
A month after the rumors of monsters heading towards the town where Vincent(Mike) lived in began to spread, the akuma finally arrived. At this time, the streets were filled with mass hysteria as everyone ran with all they had in the opposite direction. Many people were already dead, yet the only reason people were still alive was because of a small figure that seemed to be flickering through the crowd. It was Vincent who was having mixed feelings about what was happening to the town. He was happy to receive all the points he was collecting, but he still didn't like the fact that so many people were dying, even if most of them treated him unjustly due to his left hand.
Before Vincent left his house, he had told his mom to run away and only come back if she received word that the town was safe. Though Vincent's mom knew that he had been a bit more intelligent than your average kid, she still thought of him as only a unfortunate boy. She tried to reason with him, but Vincent said he had to farm save everyone. Soon, the rest of his familty, comprised of his aunts, uncles, etc, came barging in and had to drag his mother away. They told her as she screamed bloody mary that if the boy wanted to stay, then they should let him. Obviously they were hoping to get rid of him, but they were too scared of him to say it outloud...
Vincent watched them until they turned around a street corner before he then transformed his arm and went into his shinigami mode. He then proceeded to hunt akuma after akuma which brings us to his current situation.
At this moment, Vincent was completely surrounded.
Vincent: So, I'm gonna guess that this is all of you?

Clearly more than 100 akuma surrounding Vincent. There was mostly lvl1’s with some lvl 2’s and a single lvl3 leading them. If Vincent didn't have his current abilities and a plan, then he most likely would have long been dead.
Akuma lvl3: Hahaha! There's nowhere left to run away now! We've got you completely surrounded. Honestly, you've been a bad little boy. You need to be punished. Though it was surprising for someone of your age to be so adept at wielding innocence, that just makes it all the more important to get rid of you early on. Who knows, the secrets on your body might earn us some rewards...
Vincent looked at the akuma who just spoke to him and smirked.
Vincent: 100+ akuma to take down a single 4 year old child… The Millennium Earl must be so proud of you.
Akuma lvl3: You damn brat! Open fire!
At their commander's order, the akuma immediately shot at Vincent. Vincent immediately went to action and jumped from akuma to akuma, killing 1 every few seconds whether they be lvl1's or lvl2’s.
Akuma lvl3: How!? This kid isn't a beat, he's a freaking monster...
Vincent payed him no mind. He was currently fighting at his maximum power. Unbeknownst to the akuma, Vincent was also currently in his shinigami mode, allowing for soul energy to boost his stats further alongside the faith energy his innocence grants him. Both energies were specifically meant for fighting the paranormal, so they were the perfect help Vincent needed to fight the akuma.
Vincet: Gift of Life, Unseal!
After the chant, his Zanpakuto changed into its Shikai form which was about the same length as before except that there were vines covering the blade and connecting it to Vincent's hands. The blade also seemed to have become a lot sharper and seemd to sometimes change length by a few inches. Not even a few minutes after and there was less than half the original akuma left. There was only the lvl3 and a few lvl2’s; however, the fight seemed to have taken a toll on Vincent. He seemed to be a little out of breath and looked to be soon hitting his limit.

Akuma lvl3: Ha! You're almost down boy, keep firing!
Obeying their superior’s command, the akuma charged/fired at Vincent. Seeing this, Vincent knew the only way he was gonna survive this is if he used all his cards. So when he saw the akuma attacking, he used his Shikai's special ability.
Vincent: Nature's Rage!
The vines that were previously immobile suddenly shot out at an unbelievable speed and hit every akuma except the lvl3 who managed to dodge at the last second.
After a brief pause, every akuma that was hit immediately died, freeing the trapped souls.
Stil... the battle was far from over.
Akuma lvl3: You little shit! You almost killed me! Ah, you seem worn out. Did that last attack wear you out? Oh, this is perfect. Looks like it's the end of the road for you. I'm sure killing you will make my masters extremely happy.
The lvl3 akuma charged at Vincent who was at the moment powerless. Vincent saw the akuma getting closer each second and time seemed to slow down. At that moment, with death appearing right in front of him, Vincent's mind went blank, completely forgetting about the fact that he could switch bodies or just teleport himself into his dimension to defend himself.
Vincent: (Is this really it? Is this how far my promise to ES and Ana goes? No! I refuse this end! Move! Move!)

At this moment, with death so close once again, Vincent felt his left hand which had returned to normal and was holding his Shikai throb. All of a sudden, a bright light appeared from his left hand. Going by instinct and with his somehow renewed strength, Vincet slashed at the charging akuma. Before the akuma could even react, he was immediately cut in half.
When Vincent came back from the strange state he had gone into amd realized what he had just done, his strength seemed to fade away. He took a look at his left hand to see that his Shikai was absorbed into his arm so that it looked like a single sword was coming out of it. His arm wasn't in its giant hand mode, but it looked metallic and seemed to have green glowing roots growing inside of it. He also noted that the length of the blade was almost the same if not more than the height of his 5 year old body. Vincent barely caught sight of the image before the bright green light from before flashed again. When it went away, his arm changed back and his hand was currently holding his zanpakuto in its sealed state.
The last few things Vincent managed to catch sight of before he fainted were the random notification windows that popped out in front of him.

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
