《Path of Damnation》Day 9: Knowledge brings answers, but what else?

Day 9:
I woke up but this time, it is not my mind that hurt. It was my body.
With my ability to think unimpeded I forced my body to comply with my wishes and looked around for Kaiser.
When I opened my eyes, instead of seeing Kaiser, my eyes fell towards my lap and I saw a sleeping girl.
Ayanna, was sleeping peacefully with her head on my lap and small arms hugging mine.
I smiled towards her, but moved my head to look for Kaiser.
I couldn’t find him no matter where I looked, as he was not near us at all.
I closed my eyes and tried to feel for him, and I found he was near a huge group of people.
I opened my eyes, and sighed.
The Family Sensor could really be improved on.
All I could feel was his general location.
He had no emotion prevalent so for all I know, he could either be spying, or actively committing genocide on a particular clan.
I decided to attempt to call him, maybe try to signal a ‘need emotion’ or some such.
But I had no idea what I was doing, so I decided to simply have a discussion with myself, now that I could think clearly.
There were three things I wanted to know.
One of them Kaiser had explained to me yesterday. Those poor souls.
But the number of things I wanted to know was still three, or had become three again.
First of all, what was that ability, the [Scream of the Damned]. It had somehow affected Kaiser. But I needed Kaiser to answer this.
Second of all, what happened when Kaiser burst into their camp and ‘freed’ the girls. Some were freed on the spot but the others he let go.
Maybe the bear clan had taken them in; again I need Kaiser to confirm this.
And third, what is the reason I keep gaining these painful headaches.
I never had them in the early days of my rebirth, but they have become more and more severe as each day goes by.
Does it have something to do with me being injured? I doubt it, but it affects me incredibly.
Maybe it has something to do with my evolution. This is the only question I have no need of Kaiser to answer.

I closed my eyes and leaned backwards to the tree behind me.
I have apparently not been moved since yesterday, the surroundings were still the same as well.
Maybe this girl had answers, but could I wake her up and ask her such questions? Of course I couldn’t.
It would be too cruel for me to do.
I sensed for Kaiser and felt him coming back towards our location; he appeared to be barely 10 minutes away.
This made me sigh in relief. I would be able to answer the questions I was itching to know.
I closed my eyes and rested until Kaiser neared us, at which point I opened my eyes and glanced towards the location he would come from.
My gaze locked on the path between trees, I felt Kaiser, and then I saw him emerge from it.
Kaiser looked at me and smiled before nearing me and sitting down.
Kaiser: “You called for me my god?” he asked me in a gentle yet curious tone.
This made me question how I called him. Was it when I was trying to contact him via emotions, or was it when I began thinking about Kaiser and needing him to answer my questions?
I shook my head slightly, what did it matter, he came and now he can help me put some questions to rest.
MC: “Kaiser, thank you for returning” I say this as I smile at him “We need to talk” when I said this my voice became slightly deeper “about what happened that day” once I had said my piece, Kaiser looked towards me his gaze filled with understanding and nodded waiting for me to continue. “Firstly, after I screamed what happened Kaiser?” I asked this in a curious tone, as I truly wanted to know what this ability did for me.
Kaiser went silent and appeared to be looking for the correct words to answer me with and he appeared to have only been moderately successful in it.
Kaiser: “My god, once you had finished Screec-“ he stopped and then smiled wryly “roaring the orcs in the camp appeared paralysed although the Berserker appeared unaffected, but nonetheless the other orcs stopped their movement and were shaking in fear” when he said this I smiled. This ability would be more useful than I thought. “I on the other hand” he paused once again and wrecked his mind looking for the words he needed “I became stronger. I would like to explain more, but I do not know how my god” and with that he looked at me, wondering if I was appeased with his answer.

And how appeased I was. The ability if my understanding was correct terrified those of a level equal to or lower than mine while buffing my own allies.
This was of course only a hypothesis and I would require much more testing to confirm this.
I glanced at Kaiser smiling, but apparently he had not finished as he continued speaking.
Kaiser: “My lord, because of your rage the orcs had frozen and I made quick work of the berserker” he smiled as he said this “he should have posed a challenge but I handled him like you handle fish” and he chuckled slightly as he said this. I on the other hand didn’t know whether to laugh or be angry. I chose neither and kept quiet allowing Kaiser to continue “I set the women free as the orcs wouldn’t move and when they had begun to move, the bear men had already taken them in” he said this part with the sadness in his tone evident, but he broke into a grin once again continuing “But I killed many orcs on my retreat to you my lord, carrying the little one” he gestured to Ayanna “once I reached you, the orcs had begun to regain their senses but it was slow, by the time they would have, we were long gone my god”.
Now certain Kaiser was done talking I moved to talk but he began once again, this time though his face glowed with happiness.
What his happiness stemmed from was like radiation, contaminating me, breaking my stern face into one filled with joy.
Kaiser: “On my retreat my god, I heard the scholars mutter ‘Instrument of Damnation’” his smile still evident “So if I am the ‘Instrument of Damnation’ you are the ‘God of the Damned’”.
Kaiser was smiling with joy but I now had more to think about.
My knowledge of ‘words’ flooded me.
I smiled once I remembered the power words had. If I spoke carefully this may benefit me.
It may benefit me a lot.
I glanced at Kaiser at my face filled with a broad smile before moving my right hand to Kaiser’s shoulder.
MC: “Thank you Kaiser, Thank you” I said my hand which was now firmly holding onto Kaiser as I glanced at his eyes and thanked him from the bottom of my soul.
Kaiser had helped me far too much. More than I would ever be able to repay him.
Kaiser glanced at me with a look I had not seen in years, a look filled with pure familial love, before nodding to me and getting up and leaving the area.
Probably to go scout out the orcs camp once again.
My left hand hadn’t left Ayanna’s embrace during the entire talk I had with Kaiser.
I watched her cuddle my arm in an adorable fashion, but I thought how she would react once she saw the face this arm belonged to.
I hope she wouldn’t be too scared, but that was only a hope.
I began to think about what I would do with my new found knowledge, carefully though.
Kaiser had answered my questions and given me more to think about as well.
‘God of the Damned’, huh. It was a title I could get used to, but was it a title I wanted.
As I pondered this, I came to a conclusion.
MC: “I want the title for myself and I know how to do it. I will be the ‘God of the Damned’ and Black Tooth will my sacrifice” I smiled what I assume was an eerie smile and began to formulate how I would get the name to stick to myself only to be interrupted.
By a immense thumping within my head.
It felt like my skull was being crushed, my brain being shredded, my eyes burned.
It sapped my entire reserve of strength to simply not scream, and I didn’t know how long I could hold out for.
The dream realm once again came to save me from this horrid pain and I moved to embrace it, but not before I caught a pop up appear before my face.
[Ability Activated [Power of Words - ]
But I couldn’t read it all as my mind flooded with pain succumbed to the temptation of sleep to free me from it.
