《Path of Damnation》Day 7: The Start of Black Tooth's fall

Day 7
I watched as the sun slowly came into view over the distance.
I rubbed my weary eyes and glanced at Kaiser who with his eyes closed had a grim look upon him.
Kaiser opened his eyes and glanced back at me and gave me a curt nod before closing his eyes and once again delving into some kind of meditation.
The sun was beginning to rise so we had some time before we had to move.
I closed my eyes and decided to think for a few minutes.
Yesterday I had come to the conclusion that I could somehow understand the bear tribe and the orcs, but how I could do so, made no sense to me.
I had questioned Kaiser about this.
Allow me to recant what happened last night.
-
YESTERDAY:
MC: “Kaiser” I screamed out which startled Kaiser as he when into full battle mode, surverying our surroundings. I realized why he looked so tense and called him over to put him at ease “Relax Kaiser, I was calling for you, because I came to a shocking realisation” once I had said this, Kaiser breathed a sigh of relief and then went into a more relaxed stance.
Kaiser walked towards me and crouched near me while giving me a questioning glance as to why I called him.
MC: “Kaiser, when the bear men and orcs were talking, what language where they talking in?” I asked Kaiser with an equally questioning look. I was seriously stumped and needed answers.
Kaiser simply gave me a curious glance, before thinking about something and then answering me.
Kaiser: “They were speaking orcish my god. Were you perhaps wondering why the bear men could speak the language?” he asked me as he answered my question. I simply smiled at Kaiser. What a smart man, he didn’t get the exact reason I asked the question, but he got close.
MC: “Thank you Kaiser, but no that was not what I was curious about, it was a close guess, but not the exact question I want” I glanced at Kaiser while he had a look of delight on his face. I wonder if it was because he was able to answer my questions. Oh well, it didn’t matter “Kaiser, why could I understand orcish? I never learnt the language” once I said this, it appeared as if gears were spinning in Kaiser’s head as he tried to find the answer to my question.

Kaiser and I stood in silence like this for who knows how long, before breaking into a discussion.
I learnt more about Orc Scholars and learnt that all Scholars in training had to learn at least Basic Common which was the language of the Humans, Elvish for of course the Elves and Rune for the Dwarves.
They were also supposed to learn some of the sub languages as well; Kaiser knew Common, Lesser Rune and Hobbit, Almost all of Orcish and Goblic and basic Elvish and Fariya (Fairy Language).
It was much more advanced than I thought possible for orc culture.
Their scholars although treated like shit were quite intelligent. I put it into the dark pit known as my mind that I would someday aid the Infinia clan in their battle against the orcs.
As it would be quite good to have a somewhat intelligent ally in the orcish realm.
Although I and Kaiser discussed my knowledge of the orcish language for several hours, the best conclusion we came up with was as follows;
Because I had triggered Kaiser’s evolution, giving him a unique one, I had gained access to his knowledge.
I would counter act this by saying, I knew nothing about orcs, the land or anything else he knew for that matter, in which he could only give me a pained smile, showing he had no other ideas.
We came to the agreement, that when we went to meet the elves if I could understand their language, we would discuss this in more detail.
As Kaiser and I’s discussion of my knowledge of language came to an end, it turned to the grim topic about the events of today.

BACK ON TRACK:
I opened my eyes and looked at Kaiser.
Having not slept at all, Kaiser looked slightly tired.
But I think his fatigue comes not from being deprived of sleep, but from the amount of thinking he had done.
I on the other hand, was quite tired and wanted nothing more than to drop to sleep, but the soon to happen event stopped me from doing so.
Kaiser than opened his eyes and glanced at me.
I nodded to him and pushed myself up, before looking towards the sun.
It had risen, and I assumed the time to be the ‘morrow’ was nearing.
Kaiser had also pushed himself up and had begun to equip his gear before handing me mine.
Both of us now fully dressed, one of us a Tribal God, the other a Barbarian King.

We set off for the Bear men cave.
The more we walked, the more tension filled the air became.
Kaiser was worried and so was I, but I decided to put Kaiser’s worries to rest.
MC: “Kaiser, if it comes down to it, we will help the Bear Men, so relax. I won’t let them die, unless we have absolutely no other choice” I smiled at him “Okay?” as I said this; I glanced at Kaiser and waited for him to reply.
Kaiser: “Thank you my god, I know we can’t save everyone we meet but” he paused as he said this, slightly tense “Had it been any other clan but Black Tooth I would have walked away, just Black Tooth I-“ I stopped Kaiser here.
Now was not the time to hear why. If it was emotional enough and had somehow scarred Kaiser, I would be likely enough to attack Black Tooth himself in rage.
MC: “It’s alright Kaiser, I Understand. Let’s go we have a long day ahead of us” and with that I walked forward without even waiting for Kaiser to reply.
Kaiser caught up to me quite fast and we continued to walk, this time though, there was no tenseness in the air, but a subtle type of peace.
We reached the Bear Men Clearing as I had taken to calling it.
We stood there just outside the clearing surrounded by forest and looked inside of the clearing, what I saw was quite shocking.
We had expected a group of orcs to come asking for the answer to their question, but what we found was that the entrance to the cave was barricaded.
There were stones blocking the lower half of the caves mouth and on these stones were Bear Men prowling and looking at the camp before them.
What camp you ask? The orc camp consisting of at least a thousand orcs all around the clearing.
They had huge tribal tents, dotted with tribal symbol painted red. At least I hope it was paint.
Large bonfires, burning with a bright red flame, surrounded by dozens of orcs warming themselves.
Flags fluttered around the camp, dotting the symbol of a giant Black Tooth. I already knew who this camp had belonged to, but now I was doubly sure.
But two things shocked me the most.
The first being the orcs could set this up so fast while it wasn’t even the morrow yet.
So why the hell were there orcs here? I then realized what Kaiser said was true.
Black Tooth, was not someone to be messed with, but it seemed like you didn’t have a choice with whether or not you messed with him.
Well we did, and I made one hell of a decision.
I glanced at Kaiser who was seething with rage, he appeared to want to go out there and wreck havoc in the orc camp, but I doubted Kaiser could take on a thousand orcs.
The second thing was something quite disturbing.
The bear men on top of the walls exchanged eyes filled with hate at a single location several times, and when I followed their eyes to it, and my eyes were filled with hate as well.
There was a pit towards the centre of the camp, filled with several dozen actual human girls.
But their eyes, the look in their eyes burned my soul.
I was seething with rage. Kaiser even more so.
But the look in the eyes of those girls built up something deep within me.
I had seen documentaries about war and rape on television a hundred times, but now that I was seeing it with my own eyes, I felt ashamed for some of the things I had once said about this.
Kaiser appeared to have glanced at me and saw me as I was. A bundle of rage.
He moved his hands to comfort me, but before he could do so one of the girls I was looking at, looked back at me.
She saw my rage, even though my visage was hideous, she looked straight past it.
She looked into my eyes, and offered me a smile to signify her thanks for my anger.
And then a tear rolled down her cheek.
I screamed in pain and anger, coupled with my sadness and hate, I screamed until I could scream no more.
My eyes became blurry and my bodies movement sluggish, but I discerned Kaisers Visage, as it became a flurry of black and gray, dyed red.
I fell backwards with a pop up;
Ability [Scream of the Damned - ???] Unlocked
I saw Kaiser disappear inside the camp, and the last thing I saw was the girl smile and her eyes shine slightly.
I hit the ground and soon, all I could hear was the cry of battle.
