Chapter 2 – The Chase

Waking up from the feeling of waves at the bottom of this lake? I think, hmmm something was strange, it was the feeling of my body, I know that I’ve grow a little bigger but there is something more. I . . . I got arms and legs!!! It was rather small but I finally got arms and legs, HA HA HA. Why do I even feel happy at this point, I’m a tadpole after all. *sigh* let’s just eat; I got hungry all of a sudden.

*nom* *nom* *nom*

*ding*

|Leveled up one time|

“Ahhh, I’m full again. Hahaha I’m just a lazy bastard eating and resting while gaining experience.”

But now it took me to a full stomach before I’ve leveled up, well it’s like a game where you need more and more experience points to proceed to higher level. Just 5 more levels and I’ll get an evolution, I don’t know if I’ll just camp here or explore. Being safe here will be the best, but I’m also curious of swimming out of here. It sure is scary but I’m putting my safety to my species as a Ghost Tadpole.

Ok *hu* *hu* *hu* let’s go.

*ahhh stop!! I’m not scared okay, well maybe a little. *Sigh* who am I kidding.*

It appears that it’s still dark at the bottom; I swim at the bottom of the lake and explore. There are some big monsters that swimming on top of me, but it seems that they’re not interested in me with a single bit. *ahh thank goodness* I don’t have any appraisal skills, but I wish I have. Even if I examine things here at the bottom, and it seems like I can’t learn skills with normal methods like praying or say the skill I want in my mind. *sigh* Even if it sucks I need to be contented on what I have.

Nothing much was at the bottom just rocks, bones, and different plants with different colors. My eyesight was not that great so I need to move close to see things clearly. Then something took my attention, it was something delicious I looked around to find the taste. And I was successful finding it, it was a green plant with like seaweed and it seems to have orange fruits. I moved closer and closer, and was surprised that the orange fruits were nothing less but bugs eating the plant. I think they don’t have much awareness as they didn’t even move a muscle when I got close, they just ate and ate. And what’s more was they were the ones that produce the delicious taste in the water, I can’t describe it but it was the feeling that I want inside my mouth.

I look for a much smaller insect to eat but there was no such thing, they all have the same size as me. So I just took a bite.

*crunch* *crunch* *crunch*

It’s tasty and crunchy; I want more until I’m full. I don’t know but it’s tasty for having a monster body. With this I’ve reached level 9, and was eating almost nonstop, I take some rest when my jaw was a bit tired. From this I gain a passive skill, [Voracity] which I can consume great amount of food without gaining much wait. With my [Voracity] skill, I decided that I’ll eat my way up to level 10 but. . .

*ding*

I quickly look around and nothing was there, but the skill was telling me that it was dangerous to stay there. I quickly swim away but at the same time, I felt pain from the tip of my tail. When I looked back, I’ve saw a huge insect 5 times my size with mandibles similar to and a slender pincer which has my tale.

*This fucker*, my heart was raising but I gathered my strength and swim away as fast as I could. My skill was telling me that it was still dangerous, so I have the feeling that it has decided to pursued me. I took a quick glance at my back and there were 2 more insect like crab who joined the chase*I don’t know what to call this monster, wish I had the appraisal skill*.

They’re a bit slower than me, because they’re fighting while chasing me *ahhh so sweet, but it’s not so sweet when they’ve catch me*.

*ding*

“PLEASE STOP CHASING ME ANYMORE!! HELP!! SOMEONE HELP!!”

*arrghhh, I don’t need that. Well actually I really do need that.*

Raising [Fear Nullification] helps me think straight for a way to escape. I looked and looked around, but there was nothing but ricks, if I even tried going under the rock. I’m sure that I will only just get cornered.

Thanks for my level getting to 9, I had some boost of status and additional SP, my current SP was now at the middle and I think I can’t shake them of. *what do you even expect from a tadpole?*

I need some place to hide, where? The only question is where?

Then I’ve saw a cave which has a huge mouth, and as the cave gets deeper it becomes narrow which I can fit myself. I swim as fast as I could as my skill [Threat Sentient] was ringing louder and louder giving me the chills and the feeling of *IF YOU SLOW JUST FOR A SPLIT SECOND YOU WILL GET CAUGHT AND EATEN*.

Just a little more . . . just a little more. . . and yes, “hahaha” I finally got to the deep cave. . .but my skill was still telling me that I’m not safe, “WHAT?!”. . I looked at the entrance of the cave, and I’ve saw the insects swimming away, so why does my skill keeps telling that I’m in dang. . .

*TUUMMMBBB*

The entrance of the cave closed in an instant. . . .
