《Dagon, Dungeon evolved》teaser chapter idea

i am making a tournament in my story and i like my fellow dungeon crawlers to join in.

the concept is simple

1, there will be waves of AI monsters coming in. the monsters will not end until they kill the final boss in each dungeon and touch the dungeon heart.

2. you have 100 lives. so it takes 100 monsters to kill your dungeon.

to participate, think of a dungeon that you want. anything but plants and fungus. plants and fungus are mine.

no dragons. dragons fall under lizards.

your mobs are to be 1-2 m tall at best

for example, if i chose cats, my mobs would start with kittens, tier 1 cats are house cats? the Maine cat, then maybe tier 2 would be juvenile leopard or something along those lines.

give at least 3-5 animals along that family tree. the more the merrier actually. and Nothing too OP (hopefully)

think of it as a tower defense game in survival mode.

that it would be coming in about 2-3 chapters from now.

*update: there is the problem of quality over quantity. so if u want strong units like ninja cats, be prepared that the number of cats will be very little. in you want plenty of tiny weaker cats, you have to rethink about the plan. do note that it is an endless swarm of enemies coming in. plan your dungeon well XD* it is like saying that you have 1000 points to spend, you want get some big units only or plenty of small units.

** update 2

a good template would be these, and these are the ones i am definitely taking.

In general creatures of this type have slow movement speeds and low attack power, but are highly durable. While they are immune to several attack forms (poison for example) they have very low intelligence and can be easily tricked/misdirected. They can mimic the forms of living creatures or take on purely mechanical appearances.

Tier 1:

Made of relatively soft materials; wood, clay, copper etc.

Small (1m or less) golems of clay or copper appear in groups and will attempt to crush or cut anything in their path. Wood golems are less durable but can shoot wooden darts from their arms for low damage.

Tier 2:

These creatures have enhanced abilities over tier 1, some may display beginnings of advanced abilities.

Human sized golems of stone or bronze begin appearing, they wield crude weapons of their materials.

Wooden carts have sacrificed the wood golem's durability for additional speed and maneuverability, the crossbow mounted on its back shoots metal tipped bolts at longer ranges.

Tier 3:

Large and powerful creatues, some of which manifest special abilties. Only appear in later stages.

Iron golems, highly resilient and increased damage at close range.

Animated armour, more maneuverable than most golems and wields shield and sword with skill, most intelligent creature in this list.

Forge walker, made from iron and fired clay, spits molten iron and chunks of hot slag at opponents, meduim range and high damage but very slow.

Tactics:

Groups of tier 1 creatures appear in early stages, during middle stages tier 2 creatures appear with groups of tier 1 creatures to break defences/trigger traps, in final stages mixed groups of tier 3 and tier 2 monsters appear to give balanced offence/defence and attack at multiple ranges.

Tier 1 - Flying Ant - Weak, flying, swarm units.

Tier 2 - Soldier Ant - Think of this as a tank. Powerful bite and hard armor, but slower and still depends on swarm tactics to take down super tough enemies.

Tier 3 - Fire Ant - When I mean fire ant, I mean an ant that straight up breaths fire. Like flamethrower style. Everything burns. They can also do normal bites too.

Tier 4 - Bulldog Ant - Super poisonous ant that can sting rapidly, though not very well defended.

Tier 5 - The Queen. She is physically weak and as such is defended by the other four types. However, she can spawn more ants. (brb laughing evilly)

Also, if I get to pick how my dungeon is set up, it'll be huge cavern, like we talking fifty feet high. The ants would have their own pathways between the areas, so they can do shit like drop from the ceiling randomly. You never said how many floors we have though.

Tier 1 ferrets similar to rats except they have the ability to burrow in order to regenerate health.

Tier 1 variant Mink, similar to ferrets, only they are pure white, have greater agility but less intelligence.

Tier 2 Earth Badgers, they can burrow to regenerate health and in the process blind anyone behind them with dust cloud.

Tier 2 variant Honey Badger, ignores all debuffs and status effects because Honey Badger don't care.

Tier 3 would then be Metal Wolverines, strong defense with razor sharp claws, special ability is blood rage, when blood is in the air they would receive a bonus to strength and agility with a debuff to wisdom and intelligence.

Tier 3 variant Sea Otter, can equip armor and weapons, primary weapon is a spear, can fight on land, most effective in water.

so now i currently have, slimes, cats, Crystal, Mustela (weasels), ants and golems . Puppets from PM

ok bears, undead and foxes

wow you guys are making me have more and more work to do....
