《With this system I will live how I wish.》Chapter 9- The agreement

Grandad and I traded insults for a bit before I calmed down realising how impolite we were being and knowing Grandad would continue for as long as I would. Looking around the room I found a training vest by my bed and tossed it on before going up to greet the guests.
Me: I apologise for my Grandfather, he does things without considering others and is extremely unruly.
Garp: Hey little devil your the exhibitionist not me stop blaming me.
????: hoho I know Graps personality all too well no need to apologise. My name is Tsuru and this is my Grandaughter who I’m sure you know of Julia. I was surprised when I got that call from Garp pushing this forward though he is unpredictable.
Julia: Pleasure to meet you finally.
Julia gave a slight bow to me with a slight blush. I’m sure I looked rather amusing at that point as I had no idea what was going on.
Me: Hello my name is Jax, although I’m slightly confused may you tell me what ‘this’ is about?
Tsuru’s faces showed surprise. But it soon morphed into a slight rage and then frustration.
Tsuru: Garp all these years and you never thought to tell him.
Her voice seeping with anger.
Garp: There was never a time and besides I forgot but you can tell him now no problem.
I suddenly got a cold shiver down my back feeling that something big was just glossed over by Grandads easy going nature.
Tsuru sighed then turned to me.
Tsuru: Well before you were born Garp was worried that you would run off to piracy or the revolutionary army with your uncle being a yonko and your father We’ll I’m sure you get the point. Anyway I told him to just find a way to tether you to the marines so you wouldn’t run off. When you were eventually born Garp was overjoyed to have another grandson so we went drinking to celebrate. During that time Garp and I may have signed a marriage agreement for our Grandchildren.

At this my eyes went wide. My mind was doing cartwheels trying to find a way to digest this. I wasn’t sure whether I should be angry at him or what. At this point I collapsed on the sofa. In truth my previously life I had a few girlfriends but I always pushed them away. In truth I had imagined living a life of debauchery and power. If this were to happen I could kiss those dreams goodbye. But I couldn’t bring myself to say this out loud knowing how horrific it sounds.
me: Well how do I put this
Garp: I believe the words your looking for is ‘great as soon as we can let’s do this so we can live long happy marine lives’
me: no it’s just...
Garp: no.
me: but
Garp: no
me: can I
Garp: no
i heaved a heavy sigh feeling a pounding ache from my head. Well I suppose I can try and if it doesn’t work then I can move on. In fact Julia as stunning and I felt entranced by her I didn’t know why but I decided to concede and go with the flow.
me: so how come this was pushed forward then?
Garp: well for one I don’t trust you not to find another woman with how you had the female marines wrapped around your finger on the journey here.
At this I felt a sense of pride and couldn’t help a goofy smile appearing on my face.
me: I can’t help my incredible looks. It seems god just loves me too much, what can I say hehe.
Grandad gave a look of frustration and Tsuru gave a chuckle at this. Before my head could grow any bigger Grandad continued.
Garp: aaaand your brothers left to become pirates so to tie you down I pushed it forward.

I understood why he did it but still he seemed so proud of himself. It was at this point Julia stood up.
Julia: I’ll try my hardest to become a good wife for you. Please take care of me.
Her face was dyed red as she said this. I couldn’t help but fall into a daze again as I stared at her. Despite this being my second life I still had a slight blush as I scratched the back of my head.
me: yeah sure.
My brain was slightly frazzled and I didn’t really know what to say in this situation. However what Grandad said next got me even more surprised.
Garp: You entre the training camp tomorrow so get to know each other for the rest of the he time til toy both leave. Good thing your beds big.
I turned to look at Tsuru who pretended to not hear a thing and then at Julia who’s face at this point was beet red. I felt excited for the camp yup the camp just the camp. This news was great I couldn’t wait to leave the room but I felt nervous at how strong the others may be. Though this ignited a competitive nature and I couldn’t wait to fight some strong opponents.

A year ago you might have had to ask for permission to use the bathroom, but now you can vote, legally buy most things and work, marry, etc. Even if some people still treat you like a kid. So in the simplest non-spoilery terms, this story is about Victor finding himself in a world that isn’t his, with a lot of rules that weren’t given to him upon arrival.
