《Twoen》Prologue

Often I've become attached to VRMMORPG's and relunctanly sever my attachements in order to pursue the next upcoming game on the horizon. However Twoen is said to be endless if I could believe anything anyones been talking about the past few days and with that in mind I must enter the game guns blazing. I can't let my brothers have any breathing room.

Skills were generated as you do certain tasks anything from walking to skydiving from a dragon. There were base stats given to every character and hidden stats unlocked as you play. Multiple races were available to start from the classic fantasy to races to many others created by developers or some randomly generated by the A.I. responsible for the game. Classes were also available and although there were a vast amount of them the A.I. does a wonderful job of keeping them balanced. Aside from basic information like this much of the world is shrouded in mystery. For example things like world lore or information on geography were not found in the forums. It was also unknown if this game featured any divine beings or gods that governed the world. Aside from this general information advertised through game ads online apparently everything is found in the game. We weren't planning on using the forums anywho.

The timer in our wide gaming room slowly ticked down. Our VR capsules were all open yet we did not enter. No this wasn't the start of the game but it would be for us. It's been a day since stores have been out of stock after the initial hectic buyout. My brother got his hands on 3 copies a day after the game already started despite having left the very same day it was released.

I glanced at said brother now. He was tall and gave the impression of a somewhat lanky individual even when his muscles were in clear view. His hair was thin and down but brushed to the side under a beige hat with a flower design under the bill. He was in pajama's though we were still at home after all. He pushed up his glasses in the classic anime fashion to attempt to get a chuckle from me. I kept my face stoic, it was an ongoing game ever since we started watchin anime; we tried to make each other laugh with stupid immitations and mock acting from popular media. In this case I won but his attempt was weak which we both knew which lessened the victory to a great extent. He wasn't even trying.

I nodded to him. "Derjar" I said in acknowledgment. My face deadpan something uncharacteristic of me.

"Cojab" My older brother replied. His face was deadpan something uncharacteristic of him.

I turned to my left to complete my mocking of every serious scene ever made. My youngest brother though poorest in years looked exactly like my older brother. He had the same hair with the same style. His build was similar but unlike my tall brother he was average for his age and therefore didn't seem as lanky as Derjar. He also wore glasses in the same style as my older brother. He was not one to be trifled with his skill in gaming is equal to ours despite being 3 years my junior and 5 years Derjar's. Often we talk about the monster we have created.

"Nojas" I grunted in acknowledgement, still serious.

He pushed up his glasses and turned his head with a humph. Like some kind of anime girl thats mad with me.

Really? Both of them aren't even trying today. Normally when one of them does succeed we'd all start laughing uncontrollably. Of course we don't stop since our main objective is to kill the other person with laughter. Needless to say it gets out of hand. Nojas is usually the one facepalming at the antics of his older brothers so the fact that he's playing along speaks to the anticipation we're all feeling.

I jumped a bit as the timer ended. I saw my older brother jump sideways into his capsule with finger guns shooting me and Nojas. He landed sitting up on the soft interior of the Varas Capsule made from Non-concussive Instant Memory Foam or NIMF he probably didn't even feel anything as he landed. He blew out the smoke from his finger guns giving us a grin and lied down flat and supine. I entered my capsule as well diving with a twist to land on my back. I could only assume Nojas wasn't far behind or ahead. The sound of three VC's could be heard closing with a barely audible hiss. In pitch blackness I reflected on the rules we created for Twoen as various mechanical sensors and brainwave detectors positioned themselves over, on and around my body. Following that, the capsule flooded with a metallic breathable liquid thinner than water that would provide sustenance and manage waste via nanobots.

The rules were simple:

1. We start at the same time.

2. No online forums.

3. Best the other two in every way conceivable.
