《Earth's First Dungeon》Chapter 2: In Fire and Peril

Reginald swore softly as he took in the massive destruction, and then ran for his truck. His truck wouldn't start at first, and his phone seemed to have shorted out, but eventually, he was glad that he had an older vehicle as it did manage to turn over and he managed to drive off the lot and headed to his home, which was in the direction of where that truly humongous crash had come.
On his way down the hill, he saw that there was a huge trench dug in his back yard, so he put the gas down further, doubting that anyone would be around to pull him over for speeding at this moment. He pulled into his driveway and floored it, taking the long stretch at nearly seventy mph, the fastest he's ever done this stretch. He pulled up along side his house and took the track around it to the field that was turned into a crash landing site. When he got there, he found that it had crashed in at his pool, and the 30' depth of the water had helped greatly with quenching the heat and fire from the crash.
Of course, now he was going to have to repair his pool and refill it, but at least it kept the place safe, he thought. He hopped out of his truck and took his huge maglight and turned it on, before following the slightly steamy tunnel that the meteorite made. When he got to it, he found what looked like a massive black cube with a glowing green pad. He approached the metal case and gingerly reached out for the glowing pad, which gave off a chime as his hand connected with what felt like cool glass.
The glowing green pad flickered to red, yellow, blue, orange, and back to green before there was screeching from an opening door which hadn't been oiled or opened in who knows how long, and then grinding before a ble-bleep from the pad as a very dense and heavy air pushes out of the cube, sending Reginald sprawling in the stream flowing from his pool. He started coughing and was unable to get a decent breath for almost a minute, making him very, very light headed when he noticed a floating robot with a giant crystal in it's core in front of him.

He grabbed his head as it tried to communicate, a bunch of screeching and squealing appearing directly into his mind, making him howl in pain and writhe on the ground. It cut off immediately afterward and about a minute later it reconnected.
>System Updated! Language: English. Wireless Data Source: Connected. Scanning...
>System Error... Current Owner: Unknown. Location: Unknown. Would you like to claim?
He groaned and blinked at it. "What?"
>System Updated! Language: English. Wireless Data Source: Connected. Scanning...
>System Error... Current Owner: Unknown. Location: Unknown. Would you like to claim?
Reginald stared at the floating bot. It looked like a small orb, about the size of a human's torso, floating in the air with a gorgeous spherical crystal about the size of a pearl shone inside it.
"What are you?"
>Unit Identified as: Centralized Construction Core Model 18394754-382-001. Would you like to claim?
"Huh?"
>Unit Identified as: Centralized Construction Core Model 18394754-382-001. Would you like to claim?
"Sure...?"
>Please hold out your right arm.
Reginald did so, and the orb floated over to his hand and injected him with the crystal, pinning his arm in place as it carefully rebuilt his hand with the crystal in the center of the palm. Reginald, of course, passed out from the pain.

Reginald came to about five hours later, with absolutely no pain.
>DNA Analyzed. Bonded Species: Homosapien (Human). Sub-Category: Caucasian (White).
>Location Set: Tarmac, Oklahoma, United States of America, North America, Earth.
>Mana Density: Low. Detected Increase in Mana. Would you like to release Mana Reserves?
"Define Mana?"
>Mana is the primal energy of the universe.
"That doesn't help... What does Mana Reserves do?"
>Increase in Mana Density, allowing for the fast alteration of local environment and spawning of mobs. Mana Density will reach acceptable levels in 6 days, 18 hours, 30 minutes, 25 seconds at current increase rate. Would you like to release Mana Reserves to increase Mana Density?

"No!" Reginald suddenly panicked.
>Mana Reserves remaining: 100,000 gallons of condensed Fluidic Mana.
>No other Construction Core located. System requires establishing at least One (1) Core Mana Zone. Would you like to establish CMZ?
"No!"
>No other Construction Core located. System requires establishing at least One (1) Core Mana Zone. Would you like to establish CMZ?
"No!"
>No other Construction Core located. System requires establishing at least One (1) Core Mana Zone. CMZ will be established using the Emergency Module as the Centralized space.
"Damn it!"
>Please locate Deity Shrine to register Centralized Construction Core Module 18394754-382-001 so that it cannot be stolen.
>Emergency Module aerisolizing 1,000 gallons of condensed Fluidic Mana to speed up Initialization and Localization of Deity Shrine.
A huge blast of extremely dense air flooded the corridor, shoving Reginald backwards and out towards the pool and the entrance.
>Warning! Detecting atypical biological reaction to heavy mana!
Reginald cried out in pain, passing out as the control sphere which the construction orb had implanted draws his mind into it, and is pulled to the center of the heavy mana zone. The tunnel collapses and the cube sinks deeper into the ground.

The boy who fell in love with a tree
This is a story about a boy who fell in love with a tree… A story about powerful people changing the rulebook to stack the odds and line their pockets… I aim to create a story that will transport us so we get a glimpse of what that boy felt. The first 4 Chapters might be classified as a prologue depending on how you look at it. The boy quickly grows and the story really starts when the System arrives on Earth. I’m trying to achieve a relatively slow power progression and guide what we learn at a pace following the people in the story. There will be fighting but It’s more focused on base building. The MC is not all-powerful and all-knowing but he has some significant advantages. I’m trying to create a universe that makes sense in its own context. Much of what you will find, are my own world views, in a magnified way, as to make it for interesting fiction. The story took a life of its own when I started to write and I’m really happy with it. Not all of the tags I have marked will immediately be applied. There is stuff planned for far in the future such as the Sci-fi tag. There might be some cursing and gore but it is not very often. -------------- English is not my primary language, so I ask everyone to be forgiving. If you see a glaring error I would appreciate a msg but it is not feasible to fix everything. And if the story offends you, I wish you happiness, reading what you enjoy. ------------- Img link: https://unsplash.com/photos/EwKXn5CapA4
8 283A Broken Power: Godreaper’s Judgement Book 1
Jack is just a low-class American who has an unfortunate encounter with a heavenly soldier that warns of a coming calamity. The warring factions of heaven are coming to conquer and enslave. If he wants a place for his family in the coming world, he will have to carve it there with his own two hands. Jack will do anything and everything to save the good people that he loves, but does that make him a good person, or is it the opposite? The mundane world is disappearing as Earth is introduced to the larger universe where personal power is everything. A high concept Cultivation story with a fast-paced progression.
8 149Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
8 94Skyfall
A mysterious machine fell from the heavens and into this world of might and magic. Armed with weapons and destructive powers never seen before by the mortals of this realm, the fallen colossus decimated all that stood in its way. And without the guidance of its warden, the machine was left to its own vices. Will the machine destroy this newfound world or will it change this world anew? Only time will tell.
