Null is currently running away.
'Gotta go fast!' He manipulates his mana for dexterity and dashes. 'Faster!' He does it again.
“David, stop treating me like I'm some sort of monster! Stop running away!” Cici yells out while running after him.
Null can tell by Cecile's clothes that she is a cleric, so he knows it would be meaningless to get into a test of endurance with her, which is why he's trying to get away with short speed bursts. The problem is that he has tried getting away with speed bursts many times, and she would always manage to catch up to him. He tried laying traps, but he couldn't much while running for his life, and Cecile was too smart to fall for them.
Null panicked thinks, 'Fuck! She must be at a really high level to even keep up with me!'
Null then makes a face of resolution and thinks, 'I didn't want to do this, but now I have no choice. My solitude in the game is on the line!'
He throws multiple projectiles behind him. Explosive bombs, smoke bombs, poison, he threw them all out.
'Sorry president, but no matter how high your level is, you won't be able to survive this. I'll get the murder mark, but that's fine. I'm not likely to go to a town any time so-'.
Null notices something is wrong. Where are the loud explosions? Something is off. Instead of a 'boom', it sounded more like a 'poo'.
'What's going on?' Null thinks scared.
Null doesn't know it yet, but Cecile had suppressed his wisdom to as far as she could make it go down, which suppressed his projectile's power. It's also the reason that she could easily keep up with him. Null looks behind him to see the aftermath, and to his horror, not only is she still running after him, the distance between them is quickly shrinking.
'shit shit shit shit Shit Shit Shit SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIII-!'
After 2 minutes of running, Null gets exhausted and collapses on the ground facing the sky with his arms spread out, breathing heavily with a defeated expression. Cecile is standing above him, looking not the least bit tired.
Null looks at her for and instant, then looks back at the sky thinking, 'Clerics are such cheats. They can refill their endurance as long as they have mana. What a broken ability.'
“David, why did you run away from me? Why did you throw bombs at me? Why would you do such horrible things? I didn't even do anything to you!” She pretends to cry.
“Isn't it obvious? You're annoying and I don't like you.” Null says upset while looking at the sky.
“Why would you try to run away from me though? It was foolish to think you could outrun a high leveled cleric like me.”
“As long as there was a sliver of hope that I could escape from you, I would go for it.”
She sighs and sits on the ground with her back against a tree.
“To think that I would run into you here. So what's your username?” Cecile asks with anticipation.

“...” Null ignores her.
“David, I asked you a question.” Cecile says annoyed.
“Why are you still here?”
“David. What. Is. Your. Username?”
“I don't feel like telling you.”
“Tell me!”
“No.”
“Tell me!”
“No.”
5 minutes later...
“Damn! Fine you persistent fly! My name is Null.”
“*sigh* Leave it to you to have such a depressing name.” She has her arms in the air with a what am I going to do with you gesture.
“Whatever. What's your username? Nah, never mind. I realize that I don't care.”
“How rude! Well if you must know, my username is Cici. I'm a level 238 cleric.”
“Oh, okay. Can you please go away now?”
“So what's your class and level?”
Null gets up. “I have spent 5 minutes and 47 seconds talking to you, which is 5 minutes and 47 seconds longer than I can tolerate of you. Goodbye.”
Null walks to town.
While he's walking away, Cici thinks to herself, 'Hmm... he doesn't look like your generic warrior. He doesn't have a sword, spear, or shield. In fact, he's not holding any weapons at all. He looks like an assassin, but they have small bags. Null's bag is huge. Mage? But he doesn't have any magical items on him.
Monk? No. If he were a monk, he wouldn't have that huge bag. Alchemist? It really fits, but he doesn't have the clothes a typical alchemist would wear. He might be an alchemist, but even they have swords or some kind of weapon on them. Is his alchemy so powerful that he doesn't need a weapon? It would also explain why he came to this town in the first place. Now I'm really curious!'
She runs after him again.
Null soon sees that Cici is following behind him. He's extremely annoyed, but decides to ignore her for the time being hoping that she would just get bored and go away. When he makes it to town, the players come out of the houses making a big commotion. Null wonders what's going on when he realizes that all the gazes are on him.
'I haven't done anything. I haven't made a name for myself. My clothes are extremely ordinary. What could I possibly have done to make them all stare at me?' Null thinks nervously.
He then hears their conversations.
“Oh my god! It's really her! It's Cici!”
“She's as beautiful as the rumors say.”
“Beauty. Hmph. Forget that! Her clerical mastery makes her one of the most powerful clerics in the world!”
Null relaxes when he realizes they're not focused on him, but on the person behind him.
Null thinks, 'So she's pretty famous. She's also one of the most powerful clerics in the world? That explains how she was able to catch up to me. The fuck is she doing annoying me for then if she's this amazing person?'
Null then hears another person talking.
“Many have tried to approach her with offers of joining top ranked guilds, and even powerful, handsome, famous men have confessed to her and she rejected them, so why is she following around a nobody like that?”
Null speaks to Cici saying, “You know that's a really good question. Why are you here annoying a nobody like me when you are so supposedly famous and powerful?”
Null had always known that Cici was an amazing person, popular, and well liked. Now he realizes that even in New Reality, she's pretty famous. He really can't help but ponder why such an amazing girl wastes her time annoying him.

Cici says, “Ever since I've arrived in this town, I've been constantly confessed to. It gets a little exhausting rejecting people all the time, and I also do not want to hurt their feelings, so I'm staying near you so it doesn't happen as much.”
Null had to admit, for a split second he was extremely jealous. To get tired of being confessed to?
'Some go through drought while others a flood.' Null thinks.
“Have you tried being ugly?” Null says, trying to be helpful for once.
“That won't work you idiot!” Cici yells.
“It works all the time.”
“That's stupid you idiot!”
“*sigh* Damn tsunderes.”
“What did you call me!?”
“A tsundere, cuz that's what you are.”
“I'm nothing like that!”
““It- It's not like I'm a tsundere or anything, BAKA!” That's what you sound like you failed Taiga Aisaka ripoff.”
“Oh you're one to talk you failed Hachiman Hikigaya ripoff!”
“Hey. I'm nothing like that failure of a loner. Goes off to make friends and asks people for help. What's wrong with him?”
“Bull! It's in your fate! Right now you're all tsun and then the dere part will come out later! You cannot escape it!”
“Them's fightin' words.”
“Tsundere! Tsundere!” Cici says in a sing song voice.
Null glares at her.
He thinks, 'Why doesn't she ever shut up? She would be so cute if she were mute. Well, she's pretty cute now. Why is she talking to me again even though she looks like that? Right, it's because I get better grades than her in some subjects.'
Null didn't realize it, but he was staring at Cici's body while thinking.
Cici gets a disgusted look and says, “Ew. Are you checking me out?”
“You wish.”
Null looks away embarrassed and then thinks, 'Hormones. Damn it. I was caught.'
Null keeps walking around for a while, but the gazes from everyone are starting to get to him, and it is all caused by the person that won't quit following him. When not confronting people, he's used to at most 2 gazes from around him, and the gazes he is used to seeing are from people thinking, 'Have I seen him before?'
“Stop following me. You being around me is causing people to glare at me with jealous gazes.”
“I am a pretty amazing person huh?”
Cici is not that arrogant. She's saying this in order to get on Null's nerves, and it's working.
“You annoying, conceited bitch.”
“You ignorant, stupid idiot!”
Null stops, turns around to face her, and says, “Why are you following me?”
Cici says, “I'm not! We just happen to be going in the same direction.”
“Oh.”
Null then turns around and walks away. Cici turns around also and continues following behind Null. He stops again.
“Okay, I thought you said you were heading in that direction.”
He points at the direction Cici says she was going to go.
“Um, I just realized that this way is actually a shortcut.”
“Oh.”
Null then heads in a completely different direction from the first two directions, and Cici still follows behind him.
He stops again. “Okay enough. What do you want president?”
“Is it a crime to want to see how powerful my rival is in the game?”
“Two things. One, I'm not your rival. Two, yes. Stalking is a crime. Go away.”
“No! Not until you tell me how powerful you are!”
“Go. Away.”
“No!”
“Why won't you go away!? Fine. I'll just kill you.”
“Hah! Good luck with that! Even if you could kill me, you wouldn't do it in the middle of town.” She smirks while saying this.
Null debates the pros and cons of killing Cici. On one hand, he can do what he's always wanted to do and kill her in cold blood without the repercussions of real life like life in prison. On the other hand, he would end up getting the murder mark. They are pretty tricky to get rid of, and while you have it, other players can kill you and not worry about getting a murder mark.
If he dies with the murder mark, he would also gets even more penalties like he could get 10% reduction in skill proficiency, or lose 3 levels at once. It's very random. There's also a 100% chance of dropping an item at death. Some of Null's items are very rare, and he has brewed potions that have taken months to be able to figure out.
He could also drop his gauntlets, one of his most prized possessions. Not only that, but there are hundreds of people staring at them right now, and most of them are her fans. If he were to kill her, they wouldn't hesitate to kill him. He would keep respawning in this town, and they would kill him with glee. He would probably die many times and lose a lot of levels. With these options, Null makes the obvious choice.
'Worth it.'
He immediately goes and attacks Cici with his poisoned blades, but quickly realizes that something is wrong when she easily dodges it.
'Wait. Why do I feel so weak?' Null thinks frustrated. He knew clerics had this ability, but to be able to cripple him to this degree.
“Ha! That confused look on your face!” Cici laughs. “Weren't you paying attention!? I'm one of the most powerful clerics in the world! Even though I'm only level 238, my clerical mastery is at Intermediate! I knew you were going to try and kill me, so I prepared a debuffing spell beforehand!”
'I can't even kill her! She won't let me have anything!' Null angrily thinks.
Null breathes out a sigh, and calms his features.
He gets a solemn look and says, “Okay, I apologize. I was just a little frustrated that you kept following me. We should try and get along, at least in this game. Can you bring my stats back to normal?”
“Well...” She sees that Null has an apologetic look on his face. “Fine, but don't let it happen again.”
She's about to release the spell when she sees Null's mouth turn into a bloodthirsty smile.
“You were going to kill me when I released the spell!”
“No I wasn't. You can trust me.”
“What's with that bloodthirsty smile?!”
“That's how I always look.”
“No it's not!”
“Dammit cleric, just bring my stats back!”
“Nope!”
She sticks out her tongue knowing that there is nothing Null could do in this situation. He resigns himself to his fate and ignores Cici while she walks behind him.
Null thinks to himself, 'Aren't there almost a billion people playing New Reality? Of all the people, why did I have to run into her? Why do I keep running into people from my school!?'
***************************
Many people had witnessed Null's murder attempt. They were talking among themselves.
“Did you see that? He just tried to murder Cici!”
“They must be in a relationship, and he must be an abusive boyfriend!”
“Why doesn't she just dump that loser? I'm way better than him.”
“We have to save Cici from him!”
They start heading towards Null and Cici.
***************************
Null sees that there are a huge number of people converging to where he is. He knew he would get in trouble with her fans for trying to kill her, and he was prepared for this. A voice then resounds through the crowd.
“People, don't sully your hands with this nobody. Let me take care of this.”
Someone walks forward. He's in an expensive looking cleric suit made for males, and his handsome looks could rival Rory's.
“Oh it's him! It's DivineLight!”
“He has reached Beginner level 7 in clerical mastery!”
“Oh my god! He is so handsome!” A girl in the crowd says.
“Aw man. Cici's as good as gone with him around. How can I compete with him?”
DivineLight looks at Null likes he's trash, then approaches Cici.
He says to her, “Such a beautiful and skilled girl shouldn't be hanging around such garbage.”
He glares at Null, but Null pays him no mind.
“Cici, come with me. With you supporting us, out team will be unstoppable. I'll guarantee if there is anything that's too expensive for you, I will get it for you, for you are priceless.” He says while giving her a flower.
She hesitates, but takes the flower. She accepts it not out of romantic feelings, but doesn't want to embarrass him in front of all these people.
His speech causes some of the girls there to look enviously at Cici.
“Please go with him.” Pleads Null at Cici's side.
“Thank you for your offer. I really appreciate it, but I would rather get things with my own strength. I also have to apologize as I am currently not looking to be on a team.” Cici says politely.
DivineLight tries again saying, “No you must understand. My family is rich. You don't have to hesitate. Lets splurge my money on things that you like.”
“I'm sorry, but no.” Cici says politely with a tinge of annoyance.
Cici would never use her looks to take advantage of another person. DivineLight is shocked. Very few women have ever rejected him.
He thinks, 'Is the guy next to her some amazing person or something?'
DivineLight then walks up to Null.
He gives Null a look full of hostility saying, “What's your level?”
“167.” Null says. He has no reason to lie to the man.
“Hahahaha! Level 167? What does Cici see in a loser like you? Judging from your clothes, you look like you're weak and poor. I would've never even noticed you if you weren't next to Cici! Are you blackmailing her into going out with you?”
“Perhaps there has been some sort of misunderstanding. I don't like her. Not even as a friend. We're not going out or anything. She just won't leave me alone.” Null says.
“As if I could believe the world famous cleric and beauty Cici would follow around a nobody like you!”
“I know right? That's how it should be! I should be ignored, and she should be trying to go on a super difficult quest or trying to find a famous, talented, and handsome boyfriend such as yourself, but instead she's wasting her time trying to find ways of annoying me! You understand me!” Null says as if he didn't just cause a heaping amount of confusion all around.
People around are saying, “No way.”
“He must be lying. There is no reason for her to follow this loser.”
“Could you all stop talking like I'm not here!?” Cici yells frustrated.
DivineLight is speechless thinking, 'Is he playing around?'
“Now listen here. I don't know how you got her to follow you, but you better stay away from her.” DivineLight declares while his underlings step forward trying to intimidate Null.
Null, not caring the least bit about the underlings says, “I've been trying. I don't know what else to do. You should be trying to save me from her.”
Null points at her like she's a creature. People seeing this get upset.
“What an asshole!” A girl yells.
“How dare he point at her like that!?” A guy who has a crush on her, but knows he has no chance says.
“That's enough! I challenge you to a duel! The winner will agree to not ever see Cici again!” DivineLight says.
“Don't I get a say in this!?” yells Cici, tired of being ignored even though this whole shebang is about her.
'Even though I'm a cleric, he's only level 167 while I'm 189. You don't battle a cleric unless you have a move that can kill them in one blow. Otherwise they'll just heal themselves. It should be easy for me to kill him.' DivineLight thinks.
Everyone is surprised that he proposed a duel.
They're saying, “Will he fight now that his image is on the line?”
“I'm looking forward to this.”
“He can't back out now or he'll be known as a coward and Cici will abandon him.”
'If only it were that easy.' Null thinks hearing that last person.
With the fact that Null's pride and self confidence hovers slightly above that of a common earthworms self confidence, and the fact that he doesn't give a single fuck about Cici, he says, "Nah. I'll pass."
DivineLight laughs at Null, then becomes arrogant saying, “Cici, do you see? He's nothing more than a coward who likes to bully you! He's a nobody that will only bring down your noble, beautiful image! If it were me, I would fight for you with my all, so come with me and forget about him!”
“Dude, they left.” A bystander says.
“Huh?”
He looks at the spot that Null and Cici were in. He sees in the distance Null walking away with Cici following him.
“Damn him!” The crowd disperses and DivineLight talks to one of his underlings. “Hey Switch.”
“Yeah?”
“Make it so he doesn't want to stay in this town.”
Switch smirks and says, “You got it.”
He goes off and prepares.
**********************
“You just love causing me trouble huh?” Null says to Cici.
“Think of this as punishment for trying to kill me multiple times.” Cici replies.
Switch is in the corner, his sword at the ready. Right now Null is leaning against a house right next to an alleyway with Cici next to him.
He rushes from the alleyway, about to slash at Null. He is at a far higher level than him, so a few slashes should be all it takes to kill him. Something then happens. He trips on an invisible wire when he's about to slash at Null, causing him to tumble down. The sword still attacks Null, but with none of the power behind it. It didn't have any power behind it, but it still causes him to get a black mark.
Black marks are different from murder marks as they disappear after around an hour or so. As soon as he got the black mark, multiple throwing knives impaled him killing him.
When people start coming outside wondering what all the commotion is about, Null yells, “Oh my god! He sacrificed himself and saved me from those random throwing knives! Why? Whyyyyy!? It should have been meee!”
Cici just starts chuckling. People recognize him as one of DivineLight's underlings.
“What happened to him?”
“Did that guy do it?”
“It couldn't have been him. He doesn't have a murder mark.”
“There are ways around murder marks you know.”
“Do you think such a plain person like that would think of something like that?”
“Well, I guess you're right.”
DivineLight looks unsightly when he sees Switch's body. Switch rematerializes around 2 minutes later.
“What happened?”
“I don't know. I tripped and was attacked from behind.”
“Don't fail me agai-”
Just then, DivineLight was impaled with multiple arrows to his head. He died not knowing what hit him.
“Boss!?”
*****************************
Null right now is carrying a big box. It looks like it is taking all his strength just to hold it. Cici is next to Null saying, “What are you doing?”
Null responds saying, “Delivering needed medical supplies!”
“Need any help?”
“No. I want to help those sick in anyway that I can, so I must deliver these medical supplies with my own strength!”
Cici holds her face crying with tears falling down. She's crying not from the sentimental value from Nulls words, but from trying not to bust out laughing. She knows he's full of shit.
Switch is in an alleyway thinking, 'Heheh, you won't be able to do anything while holding such a heavy box. I'll kill you this time for sure!'
He rushes towards Null, this time making sure to watch his step. Null then trips. “Oops.” The tip of Switch's sword barely touches Null, but it gives Switch a black mark. The side of the box then collapses, and Switch is covered with all assortments of weapons, impaling him. They were, of course, poisoned. Do you even need to ask? He dies shortly after. Some people there witnessed this from start to finished.
Null yells out, “No. Noooooo! These weren't medical supplies at all! Someone must have
switched the medical supplies with some weapons box, and must have accidentally loosened
one of sides! Were these weapons working together with the random throwing knives!? Who knows!? Why must good men die young!? It should have been meeee!”
Cici was trying so hard not to laugh. Now doing all this is out of Null's character, and it may seem
random, but this is all calculated. Null is giving the people watching an implicit message: If you attack me, not only will I kill you and not get the murder mark, but I will thoroughly humiliate you in the process.
While this was going on, DivineLight was hit with all assortment of weapons and died. The reason? Null's Rube Goldberg machines. During his time in the library, Null had thoroughly read through on what you do to get a murder mark, and tried to find multiple loopholes. It appears if there are too many degrees of separation between you and the victim, it will not count as a murder. After all, chaos theory, the butterfly effect, and all that. He made elaborate traps and killed DivineLight. Every time DivineLight sent someone to try and kill Null, he would be killed by Null.
*****************
It took about 8 times for DivineLight and his underlings to die for them to get the hint. DivineLight's fan girls had left him, afraid of being seen with him. DivineLight and his underlings quickly left town.
'That was pretty fun.' Null thinks to himself.
“I still don't get how you managed to pull that off.” Cici says impressed while nodding her head in amusement.
They stayed silent for a while, which for Cici only counted for about 15 seconds. She then speaks to Null.
“So Null, what brings you to Panford?”
“Nothing, it was the closest town, and I wanted to sell off my items.”
“Are you serious? Don't you know what's going on in this town?”
“Something about Plaque or something? Brushing your teeth will usually take care of that.” He says trying to annoy Cici.
“No, it's Plague! The information is pretty much everywhere! Do you live under a rock!?”
“Yes, so enlighten this humble rock dweller.”
“This town is in the middle of a crisis. It was hit by a very deadly and contagious disease. It wasn't the first, and unless someone finds a cure, it won't be the last. It's caused by a psychopathic alchemist named Plague.”
“So where is Plague?”
“He's hiding out somewhere. No one has ever been able to actually see him. We actually gave him the name Plague, because of the way he spreads diseases. He sends monsters to do his dirty work.”
“So my name of Plaque is just as valid as your name of Plague.”
“I'm not going to argue about that!”
“So I guess that explains that. What I wonder is, there should be alchemists and clerics here, but I was surprised about how many there are. Why are there so many alchemy and cleric players here? There are thousands. How do the houses fit them all?”
“This mission is famous. It's one of the rare C-rank healing missions. It was mentioned all over the place. It was mentioned on the forums and on New Reality News! How could you not know!?”
“I don't read the forums or watch New Reality News.”
“What the hell!? Do you just aimlessly wander around!?”
“Yes.”
“You really are an ignorant bumpkin. Well, the person who finds a cure will undoubtedly make a name for him or herself, and I intend to find it. After all, I'm one of the few who has Intermediate in the cleric class. I want to become a doctor or work with medicine, so doing this will feel like I'm really helping. That's why I became a cleric in the first place.”
“I asked why there were so many alchemists and clerics here. I didn't ask for your life story.”
“Hmph.” Cici says while crossing her arms looking away.
“Well I don't want to be here anymore, but it appears that next few towns have all been destroyed right?”
“Yeah.”
“So I guess I have no choice. I'll just go and make the cure. When I create it, I'll just give it to someone else and they'll take credit. I'll wait for the blacksmiths and tailors to get cured so I can sell them my items.”
“You can't be serious!”
“Why can't I be serious?”
“You think you can just waltz on in and find a cure just like that?”
“Yes.”
“Even the alchemist they sent to stop this plague from Qasburg Kingdom's capital couldn't do it! And his alchemy is at Intermediate level 2! So what makes you think you can do it!?”
“Obviously this was all a predetermined event for players, so of course the NPC alchemist won't solve it.”
“Well, I guess that does make sense. Well he was on his way to solving it, but he also got sick with the disease. The other person Qasburg Kingdom sent hasn't been heard from in 3 days.”
“How many people did Qasburg Kingdom send?”
“Two.”
“...Two? That's it? Shows how much they care about their citizens.”
“You dummy! They're both at intermediate in their respective masteries! The alchemist's mastery is at intermediate level 2, which is equivalent to hundreds of beginner level 5's!”
“Oh. Intermediate level 2? What's the big deal?”
“You are super ignorant! Within each of the classes, even though there may be millions, or tens of millions, maybe even hundreds of millions of players for classes, the number of people who have reached intermediate per class, even in the most numerous classes, don't exceed 5000! Having intermediate in a class is close to, or sometimes even equivalent to being a ranker!”
“That few!?”
Null is shocked. He's read everything there is to know about the common classes, including what types of moves you acquire when you hit intermediate and advanced. Throughout all his reading, he has never once read how rare it is to get to intermediate. What is required for you to get intermediate? Not only must you keep making new things past beginner level 5, but the new things that you create must be good. That mounts to hundreds of thousands of new things you must create.
Null knows that the most generic class of all, warrior swordsman, numbers at around 170 million players worldwide, and yet the number that have reached intermediate in that class is less than 5000?
It's the first time he's hearing about this. Doesn't he have 5 classes and 1 skill outside those classes at the intermediate rank? If word got out, he would undoubtedly become famous.
'What have I done?' Null thinks in dismay.
'Now that I think about it, I didn't really go anywhere or do anything while I was gaining proficiency besides looking for different herbs and mining, so it would be easier for me to gain proficiency. I also had the mystery book to help remember things for me, information finder to quickly locate information, learning without reading to quickly absorb information, and the knowledge stat to accelerate my proficiency gaining speed, and it still took me 4 years in game to get my skills to the present levels, so it makes sense that there are so few intermediates.
I feel like I've cheated. I really am terrible. First I use underhanded tactics to defeat my enemies, now I've used underhanded tactics to gain proficiency. Even if I wanted to get famous, it would not be well
deserved.'
Nulls low self confidence was working at full throttle.
'If I knew all this, I would've never upgraded my skills to this degree! Well it's too late now. Nothing I can do about it now except to keep moving forward, and to keep my intermediate masteries a secret.'
“Do you just stay in the forest and eat twigs all day you imbecile?” Cici admonishes null.
“Well, I probably won't have to find the cure. How close are you to finding it?”
Cici looks sad. “Right now, I haven't found the right incantations, or found the right healing frequency to heal that disease.”
“Is there anyone here who is close to finding the cure?”
“I have no idea. People say that the people who have the highest chances of finding the cure are between me, a group of alchemists calling themselves Potion Commotion, a group of 20 alchemists all above beginner level 5 with the highest being beginner level 9, and an alchemist who has recently reached the Intermediate stage named Fumes.”
“Well I'm not going to sit here and wait for them. If I enter a house without the quest, a person can kill me without having to worry about getting a murder mark. Take me to that alchemist so I can get the quest.”
“Are you really level 167?”
“Yes.”
“Sorry to say, but your chances are slim. I thought you would be some super awesome person. Guess I overestimated you.”
“Guess so.”

Author's Note: Um I was supposed to have completed this chapter 5 days ago, but I maybe, sort of, kind of, most definitely binged on reading novels. Apologies.
Speaking of which, Yun Che from Ni Tian Xie Shen is the most awesome protagonist to ever exist in fiction! Why can't my protagonist be like him? Null you disappointment!

There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost. Deep in space, a Vulture droid is reactivated in an abandoned Separatist warehouse. It proceeds to do the only thing it knows how to do; take orders and blast things. Thankfully, there are a few people who are either willing to help or shoot it. It depends on the context. ~ ~ ~ ~ This is a Star Wars fanfiction.
8 129Heavenly Rebirth - The Martial Hero's Journey
Martial Warriors battle it out in forests, destroying trees in single punches and kicks, uprooting them with ease. There is a world hidden underneath the mundane realm of mortals, one where martial prowess is everything, and living and dying by the edge of one's blade is natural. This world... is being threatened. Enter Kang Yilan, a seventeen-year-old convict sentenced to life, whiling away her days mining ores in the southern mountains when she happens upon a fateful encounter. Read as she embarks on a journey that will change her life, and the lives of millions of others, forever. NaNoWriMo challenge :D and [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Some magic elements are borrowed from Savage Divinity and a handful of other good wuxia/xianxia stories, but the story itself is pretty original if I do say so myself. If you feel bothered by my borrowing elements from other magic systems, a) I'm not making money off of this... yet, and b) almost all Xianxia copy each other. This one, at least, has direction where other xianxia don't.
8 237B's Grand Adventure
It has been two hundred years since the first contact with aliens from the planet Proxima Centauri. It has been about one hundred and ninety-eight since the Centurians and humans accidentally connected their computer systems together. That same year Centurian virus took over almost all of humanity's computers. This was right about the time a huge solar flare knocked out all communication on Earth. Some time between then and now secrets were revealed, like secret societies, where the nukes were being hidden, and, most importantly, that there were Fae, magic beings, living among humanity all this time. The Proxima Centurians eventually came to the now weakened Earth to 'check on' humanity about fifty years ago. Some say they are here to colonize what's left of the city-states and raiders alike. But now we focus on a young man who has earned the ire of a Centurian colony and a powerful half-Fae named Jormungrand. This young man has chosen the name for himself as B.
