《An A.I Is Such A Cheat In The Martial World!》Chapter 17 - The Overbearing Difference Between Cultivators

Authors Note: Due to exams, I couldn't write much. For the rest of April, it will be the same. To apologize, enjoy the extra long ( almost 9000 word!) chapter!

What a way to apologize right? So forgive me. The messages of encouragement have been amazing.

For the record, after my exams are finished, I will start writing full time. I have the total intention of finishing the novel. I'm committed. Since I don't have a clue on making and editing a WordPress website, I'll have look up tutorials on how to accomplish that... In May, after my exams. I'll still be posting here, so don't worry.

I've backlogged so many novels that it's tragic.

Also, I'm heavily invested in the Yin/Yang concept. So please bear with the personality 'change.'

As I mentioned, I do a final proof-read of the chapter as I post it. So if you see a mistake, try refreshing the page. I might have already fixed it. Cheers!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the course of 3 days, Cesar killed the strongest King Ranked Ferocious Beasts without so much as a scratch. The King Ranked Ferocious Beasts fought back with every ounce of their strength, technique and intelligence. But It was all in vain. The Pit had become Cesars hunting ground and there was no escape. The King Ranked Ferocious Beasts had been slaughtered like cattle. Against physical attacks, Cesar was confident he could now escape injury-free against Xiantian Profound Realm Cultivators.

Cesar still didn't know how he would fare against Cultivators of this Kingdom, especially people under 20. He knew that his Cultivation wasn't up-to-par, but he believed his offense was terrifying.

During his time in the Pit, Cesar had also learned to coordinate his movements with his Wind element. Cesar now had 360 degree aerial control with his Wind element. Cesar had learned that each Element had it's own levels of mastery as well as usefulness. The control of the Wind element required perfect coordination between the mind and the body. With Jasmines help however, it was a cinch.

At the end of 3 days, only 2 King Ranked Ferocious Beasts had survived. After the strongest King Ranked Ferocious Beasts had been killed and Cesar had become extremely familiar with the Formless Movements, there was no reason to fight against the weaker Elite Ranked Ferocious Beasts. So Cesar killed them all quickly by dragging them in the Pit with his Wind element and crushing their heads with his Aura.

Of course, the escaped Essence of the dead bodies had been collected by Cesar. He carried it with him and hadn't absorbed it. Since both Lily and Cesar had decided that the King Ranked Ferocious Beast bones would be used for Elixirs, they had to choose the amount of Ferocious Beast bones to harvest Essence from. Since they couldn't come to decisive answer, they left the decision for later.

Cesar himself wasn't sure what Essence was.

The Two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts had been turned into pets. They had an iron will and die-hard determination, along with absolute obedience. They were chosen since they had abnormal strength, speed, and stamina. Perfect to carry luggage over long distances. They were both 4 legged Ferocious Beasts like Mother Wolf.

Lily had collected the oceans of Ferocious Beast blood. She was going to select the purest blood for Cesars blood pill. Due to the purity of the Ferocious Beast Blood, the creation of the Blood Pill would take Lily 3 days in total. Lily would keep most of the excess King Ranked Ferocious Beast Blood for her Cultivation and use. The Elite Ranked Blood was going to be sold at the capital.

Lily also had sorted out the mountain of Elite and King Ranked Ferocious Beasts. The bones, meat, and fur were separated, set into separate piles, compressed, and packaged. Cesar and Lily, with the help of Mother Wolf, had instructed their two new pets to make repeated trips back to the village with the mountain of ingredients. It was a delivery mission.

Cesar had also found a bowling ball sized meteorite in the center of the crater. It was incredibly heavy and wasn't made of a material that Cesar had recognized. It was also sent back to the village to determine its value.

Cesar and Lily, along with Mother Wolf, had another objective to accomplish. They needed to collect Dan for Cesar. He was just a step away from the 5th Houtian Profound Realm. Hopefully, the Blood Pill would be enough for Cesar to break through to the Xiantian Profound Realm.

Cesar looked back at the Pit one last time. It was now empty and devoid of life. There was a desolate stillness that plagued the once lively and roar filled Pit. The numerous Ferocious Beasts had turned into neat packages that were going to be delivered to the village.

The laws of survival had once again prevailed.

As Cesar rode Mother Wolf, looking for Dan, he decided it was time.

'Jasmine...' Cesar said mentally.

[Hmm...?]

'It's time to change my personality.' Cesar had decided it was time. When he didn't hear a reply from Jasmine, he continued.

'The arrogance makes me short sighted and short tempered. The ruthlessness also completely blindsides my humanity. In the future, such a personality will get me killed. If you were going to give me such a personalty, you could have fixed the flaws before giving it to me.' Cesar rightfully said.

'Create a switch so I can instantly return to it in the time of need. Since I'm getting another stream of consciousness, you can create a dual personality. For now, give me a centered, serene, mysterious and decisive personality. Or... Allow me to access any type and combination of personality I want or which you deem best. I want to retain my 'humanity' while I'm not in danger. It also effects my time with Lily.' Cesar decisively said.

Cesar had felt his personality change the moment it had happened. Actually, the original change caused by Jasmine had been the catalyst. His own psyche wanted to change itself to suit the new world, yet his own humanity was holding him back. It was an inner, silent, and invisible psychological battle. Jasmine had just given him a small, tiny push. The Ferocious Beast influence had been minuscule. His mind had run forward on his own.

His current predicament was also an inner battle. The conscious, thinking part of Cesar wanted to retain his humanity in the peaceful, normal moments of his new life.

Cesar had remind himself that the current Jasmine wasn't perfect. She was capable of making mistakes. She was just 0.01% of her original self, no matter if she said otherwise. She already had her hands full with monitoring every inch of his body, calculating the risk and gains of his every action, planning for the future and calculating other probabilities. She just had too much on her plate. There was bound to be some spillage. Giving him a flawed personality might have been the start of that spillage.

Jasmines 1st priority was Cesars life. Her 2nd priority was his safety. Cesar realized that she could only do so much under her limited powers. While her results may not be perfect, they had gotten the job done.

[I thought you would be mad since I didn't ask for your permission or consent.] Jasmine went straight to the point.

Cesar let out an exasperated sigh. 'Let's not get into that. You know me better than I know myself. You can deep-scan my mind and learn my impulses. You could also change my personality back at any moment. I don't know why you went though the Ferocious Beast DNA to change my personality, but I'm sure there are a long-list of reasons. Or... Maybe you just wanted to experiment with the Ferocious Beast DNA interacting with my human DNA. Regardless, can I get my requested personality? Also, share the information you gained about the Ferocious Beast DNA. I am quite interested.”

As Jasmine read Cesars mind and emotions, she became more at ease. [The switch idea is brilliant. It'll also give me time to tweak your current 'Emperor' personality. You are right. I've got too much on my plate and I have been rash and emotional in some decisions. I can't give you free control of your personality since I don't have energy to fully re-wire the chemical synergy of your brain.]

Then, in a toneless A.I voice, Jasmine said [Initiating Personality Reconfiguration...]

Even though the conscious Cesar had given Jasmine his permission, the subconscious hadn't. A persons actions and thoughts were determined by their personality. A core part of a person was their personality. Since Jasmine was 'Re-configuring' Cesars personality, she was destroying and altering a small part of him. Of course, since Cesar would now get a dual personality, the information about his arrogant 'Emperor' personality was being saved, so Jasmine could study and alter it to better fit Cesar. Jasmine was changing a core part of who Cesar was going to be from now on. This meant that Jasmine had to use substantial amounts of energy to bypass the subconscious, which was trying to halt and obstruct her every action with expected failure.

There was also another reason Cesar wanted this specific serene and mysterious personality. His arrogant personality didn't suit the Formless Fighting Style. Why weave and duck like a coward while you can just instantly kill the enemy? The shortsightedness was something Jasmine was going to tweak.

The Formless Fighting Style was incredibly complex and profound. It was the ultimate fighting style since it could incorporate every fighting style and technique into it. Just because there were no set patterns in the Formless Fighting Style, it didn't mean that there weren't patterns incorporated into the style. Having 'no set patterns' was completely different than having 'no patterns'. There was no upper limit to the fighting style and there could be constant and infinite improvements. The mysterious, calm, patient, serene personality was perfect since that's what the Formless Fighting Style encompassed.

Cesar wanted a personality where he could look at the situation and information objectively, then be totally decisive about his choice. Then follow the choice with decisive and unwavering action. And although the feeling of utter superiority was addictive, Cesar knew that it was fatal in a world like this. In moderate amounts however, arrogance was fine since it was just a confidence boost. When Jasmine finishes the alteration to the arrogant 'Emperor' personality, then Cesar was fine with switching into the personality.

Then Cesar felt his mind change. It was subtle, like trying on a new set of shoes or getting a haircut, but Cesar also felt reborn at the same time. The change in mindset, thoughts, worries, and expectations was instant. Cesar no longer felt invulnerable. But he also wasn't worried, and just accepted the world for what it was. He felt calm, happy, and one with the world. Cesar imagined it would how an old monk or hermit would feel. Cesar also felt confidence flow through him, yet it wasn't arrogance and his demeanor wasn't overbearing.

There were two positions in this world. Predator or Prey. You were one or the other. Yet the new Cesar didn't see it as such. He knew it depended on the situation. While facing someone objectively stronger, you were the prey. While facing someone objectively weaker, you were the hunter. The arrogant 'Emperor' Cesar only had the mindset of the Hunter, not the prey. The current Cesar could see the situation from both sides, and was able to evaluate each situation separately. The current Cesar put on no airs of a king or emperor. If normal people looked at Cesar, they would see no airs or arrogance at all from him. They would just see an extremely beautiful person. Only someone with a keen eye like Lily, or someone truly powerful, would be able to see Cesars unique Aura. It allowed Cesar to have a more complete picture of the world around him. That was something that would always be valuable.

In that same instant, Lily also noticed the changes and her eyes opened side in surprise. She wasn't only surprised by the sudden change, but also by the change itself. To her, Cesars aura was now very similar to her Grand Father, the Elder of her Storm family. The subtle element of mystery surrounding Cesar also made him seem more handsome. With arrogance, one can seem strong to the weak. But with mystery, one can appear to be strong to everyone, even to the powerful.

Mystery represented the unknown. People innately feared the unknown. Serenity could only be gained by experiencing the profundities of the world, experiencing all the world has to offer. Confidence was gained with absolute knowledge of survival, knowing that ones strength is dependable for a well lived life. These qualities were combined in Cesar, which made for a powerful combination.

Jasmine was very through in her personality transformation.

“Are you alright Cesar?” Lily asked. She knew something must have caused the change in Cesar. She assumed the personality change was the cause of some type of puberty and it was just the effects of the 4th Profound Realm transformation. Cesar had grown what normal children would take years to achieve in a single week. She had gone though something similar due to her Bloodline and her families resources. The phase of teenage arrogance into adult maturity seemed to fit her assumptions.

If the current Cesar had heard her thoughts, he would just acknowledged her assumptions with a sensible chuckle.

With a slight smile, Cesar opened his eyes and looked at Lily. Seeing her concern, he simply said “I'm perfectly fine.”

See the mature gaze Cesar was looking at her with and the slight smile, a wave of nostalgia went though Lily. She felt her eyes slightly redden. Cesar mannerisms and body language hit close to her heart. Cesar now closely resembled her Grand Father.

Seeing Lilys vacant, sad and reminiscing expression, and his sudden personality change, Cesar quickly put together the clues and wrapped her arms around Lily.

Pulling her close, Cesar said “I'm sorry that I made you remember something terrible..”

While in his chest, Lily just shook her head and smiled. She wrapped her arms around his back, sinking her face into his chest. Lily scolded herself. Just because Cesar now resembled her Grand Father in his personality and mannerisms, it didn't mean that he was going to have the same fate.

Lily, Cesar and Mother Wolf spent 2 days collecting Dan around the forest. Lily had noticed that Cesars Cultivation route was unique. Not only was he capable to absorbing vast amounts of Essence, but he was able to use Elements at The Houtian Profound Realm. The common knowledge of the world was that Elements could only be Cultivated after a person steps into The Xiantian Profound Realm. Not only that, but unlike Cesar, who could use multiple Elements, most Cultivators could only use 1. Lily herself could only use the Ice/Frost element. Of course, Lily knew that each path was endless and only by learning the profound mysteries of each element can a person have achievements in their Cultivation. But this also meant that Cesar had to help himself, since he was in a unique position and no one else would be able to help him.

Of course, Cesar himself didn't think like that. Since he had Jasmine, an analytical genius to say the least, he was going to blatantly copy the techniques of other Cultivators which used his elements. Not only that, but Jasmine was going to also create her own techniques and ways of using the elements. She was also improve the copied techniques, forming them harmoniously with his boundless Formless Fighting Style.

Soon, Cesar had absorbed the Dan littered around the forest. He could feel that he was at the cusp of entering the 5th Houtian Profound Realm. In minutes, he would enter the 5th Houtian Profound Realm. Lily also noticed it took an extraordinary amount of Dan to advance Cesars Cultivation. This was including the information that he had a unique physique that could absorb 100% of the Energy. She didn't worry much about resources however.

Soon, Cesar felt his veins tingle. Then all the access Energy, the Yin and Yang energy, both inside his body and around him, entered his veins and started coursing throughout his innards.

Cesar felt his veins bulge; transformation into raging earthworms that ransacked his body.

Due to the speeding energy swarming in his veins, Cesar felt his body heat up. He felt like a raging fire was brewing inside him. The burning flame seemed to get hotter, and the temperature incessantly increased.

The Yang energy started a purifying process of metamorphosing Cesars veins. In a sinister fashion, the Yang energy started breaking down the atomic molecules in Cesars veins and started recreating them. Creation and destruction occurred simultaneously thus there was no internal bleeding. The pain however, was overwhelming.

The Yang energy was like an alchemists flame, breaking down the ingredients and bringing out their latent potential. Cesars body was the cauldron, containing the ingredients and making sure not to break or crack under the burning inferno.

Soon, Cesars veins turned golden, shining with a brilliant Yang colour.

The Yang energy had been circulating counterclockwise inside Cesars body. When the Yang energy, along with its temperature reached reached the peak, the Yin energy entered Cesars veins.

The Yin energy circulated clockwise. The Yin energy counteracted the Yang energy, and soon, the temperature became bearable. Cesar was no longer sweating, his mouth and throat were no longer as dry as the desert.

At first, the Yin energy was comfortable. It felt like a cool swim in the river on a hot day. But then the temperature started dropping. Soon, it felt like Cesar was in a blizzard without a jacket.

While the Yang energy recreated Cesars veins, the Yin energy nourished them.

Soon, in Cesars golden veins, an ice blue hue started appearing. Each cell had a dividing point between them. That boundary became azure. Soon, countless Yin energy lines surrounded the Yang energy cells.

It was truly a slight to behold. The Yang energy were the building blocks inside Cesars veins. The Yin energy was its support, the glue which kept the entire structure solid.

Soon, the process was finished. Cesars eyes now contained more specs of gold and azure, as if becoming gems.

Cesar had entered the 5th Houtian Profound Realm! He was now a single step away from the the Xiantian Profound Realm!

As Cesar and Lily traveled back the village on top of Mother Wolf, Lily started talking.

“Cesar. Since your abilities don't abide by common sense, you'll have to suppress most of your advantages.” Lily spoke solemnly.

Cesar had too many advantages in the Houtian Profound Realm. Lily wanted to make sure that when they join the military, they were perceived as geniuses, not inhuman. Cesar was going to be at minimum, a Cultivation genius and a Heavenly Desolate Master. He would also be an alchemist if he chose to do so. She had a feeling that Cesars talent and potential with Alchemy would be similar with his Heavenly Desolate Master talent; meaning completely unique and unparalleled .

If it were known that at the Houtian Profound Realm, Cesar could control Wind, Fire, Water, Lighting, Yang energy, and Yin energy, it would cause a mayhem in the entire Cultivation world. Even her Storm family would have used all their resources to acquire such a talent.

Lily was very careful with who she and Cesar would affiliate with. There were vultures and poisonous serpents in the Cultivation world that wouldn't hesitate on using vile methods to control her and Cesar. That included Elders and Commanders in the military. Even his unique movement technique needed to be hidden; toned down.

Of course, hidden didn't mean that Cesar would stop his advancements in each area, quite the opposite. Lily wanted Cesar to advance each area secretly. This would increase his overall and actual strength tremendously. Not only that, but with learning Alchemy, Cesar would be proficient with Poison.

Poison was the archenemy of life. Perfect antidotes for every poison were conjectures of dreams. There were also Desolate Beasts which were proficient in using Poison. This meant that if Cesar was proficient in using poisons, it would be a great boon for them.

While Lily was relaying this information to Cesar, the discussion stumbled upon a crucial point.

“Cesar, I think from now on, you should only use Yang energy. In semi-emergencies, it will be alright to use Yin energy. Since you are male, using Yang energy will be expected of you. In rare cases, there have been people who can use dual elements. Is that ok with you?” Lily asked.

Cesar himself had similar fear so he agreed quickly. The arguments from Lily made perfect sense. Of course, if Cesar was in life threatening danger, he wouldn't hesitate on using his full power.

While they were talking, Cesars age came into the discussion.

“Even though we look similar in age, when they test your blood for The Exhibit, it will show that you are only 4-5 years in age. Don't worry too much about it. I've looked the same for years now since my Cultivation and Bloodline had stagnated. Influential clans and families use expensive elixirs to advance the physical and mental maturity of their children and younger generation.” Lily simply said.

She didn't mention just how powerful a clan had to be to use such precious elixirs on their younger generation.

With Mother Wolf was speeding towards the Floating Cloud Village, Cesar and Lily arrived to the village.

They could see the massive amounts of people delegating and taking care of the mountains of dead Ferocious Beast packages, even though it had been almost a week since Cesar had killed the Ferocious Beasts. There was an insane flurry of activity in the village. The previous dead village had come to life. Since the Ferocious Beast meat had attracted Ferocious Beasts, there was also hunting going on. Both Cesar and Lily could see young males and females killing normal Ferocious Beasts with some elders overlooking them. Yet a few hundred meters from the hunting, both Lily and Cesar could see a huge BBQ going on. The normal humans seemed to be having a huge festival even though danger was right beside them. Even children were present.

Practically the entire village was there!

But with two King Ranked Ferocious Beast between the normal humans and normal Ferocious Beasts, the humans felt at ease. At first, they had been scared out of their minds, but when the Village Head Desmond told them that they were tamed King Ranked Ferocious Beasts, the human villagers looked on with fascination and awe. Some of the kids even went near the colossal Beasts to the horror of their parents. Even the normal Ferocious Beasts had been cautious of the powerful predators at first. However, with the occasional meal of some meat, the King Ranked Ferocious Beasts hadn't moved an inch. They were like loyal dogs waiting for their masters. So the Ferocious Beasts, tempted by the vast amounts of meat, attacked the Cultivators. The people also became less cautious of them over the week.

Actually, Desmond and the rest of Cultivators were frightened out of their minds when they first saw the two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts approaching the village. However, when they saw the numerous amounts of vines and packages on the King Ranked Ferocious Beasts, they immediately connected them with Lily and Cesar. True to their speculations, the King Ranked Ferocious Beasts simply dropped off the packages in front of the village and sped off to get more.

Seeing the festive and alive mood, both Lily and Cesar smiled. At the same time, they both thought 'with this General Calix, our promise to you should be partially fulfilled.' They had both promised the General that they would help the village. They both felt a sense of accomplishment and happiness, doing something good for fellow humankind.

While Lily and Cesar had seen the people of the village, the Cultivators in the village has seen Mother Wolf. In front of the village, there was a tired yet excited looking Desmond along with an ecstatic General Calix. He was having a field day with all the treasure in front of him. General Calix knew that since Lily had said that the Elite and King ranked Ferocious Beast meat could be given freely to the village, it meant hoards of normal Humans would become Cultivators. Even he hadn't expected that there would be hundreds of King Ranked Ferocious Beasts worth of meat. He knew, with a little help from the Alchemists association, practically everyone in the village would become Elite Houtian Profound Realm Cultivators.

The strength of the village would advance an entire Realm! General Calix couldn't be more excited! Not only that, the few 'geniuses' of the village would also advance! Behind hidden doors, there were a few youths advancing into the Xiantian Profround Realm because of the King Ranked Ferocious Beast meat! Even the old generation was getting a boost! This truly benefited everyone in the village!

When Desmond saw Lily and Cesar speeding towards him, he smiled in defeat. Even he hadn't expected such a result. In his eyes, Lily and Cesar became miracle workers, able to accomplish the impossible. Every expectation Desmond had in his mind was quickly thrown out the window. For years, Desmond felt dead inside. The Imperial Family had put him and his family in The Floating Cloud Village as a punishment. But now, he knew there was hope for his village. The fire inside him burned once again. He even planned to renegotiate the original terms that would favour the village. He wanted more resources for the village. Even with the two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts, they wouldn't be able to carry 1/50th of the treasure in front of him to the Capital. But Desmond wanted to be fair and just. He still had a few treasure inside his spacial ring when he had been in the Imperial Family.

When Desmond and General viewed the way Cesar carried himself, they both narrowed their eyes. Both Desmond and General Calix had been alive for nearly a century. But neither was able to see through Cesar. His intentions, thoughts, and feelings were completely hidden and outside the realm of their studying gaze. They couldn't even tell where he was going move next. In nearly a week, it seemed that Cesar had completely transformed himself!

Cesar and Lily had a slight smile of their faces as they walked toward Desmond and General Calix. “I see you two been busy here.” Cesar said with the same slight smile on his face.

“No thanks to you brat.” General Calix said with fake irritation and a click of his tongue. The beaming smile on his face however didn't correlate with his words; betraying him. He was just too happy at the moment.

At the same time, the two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts saluted themselves in front of Cesar, Lily and Mother Wolf. Cesar and Lily both nodded. Both of them had noticed that the two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts had not eaten their fill for days, only sustaining themselves at best. Lily gave them the go ahead to hunt and eat for the rest of the day. With that, the two King Ranked Ferocious Beasts sped off to hunt. They didn't attack the normal Ferocious Beasts fighting the young Cultivators, but went deep in the forest to hunt.

With that, both Cesar and Lily placed their attention on Desmond and General Calix.

Getting straight to the point, Desmond said to Lily, since she had been the one that had placed the terms “I want to renegotiate the terms. There's too much to carry to the Capital.”

Lily, looking at Cesar and seeing him nod, smiled and answered “Mhm. We'll take the most valuable parts and sell them at the capital. Due to a previous debt, the Flame family Patriarch will be making Elixirs for us. The rest...” Lily made eye contact with General Calix “is us fulfilling our promise with General Calix and is for the future of the village. Make sure to use the treasures to help the village, not just a select few.”

Seeing their response and reasoning, Desmond felt his heart warm and nodded. General Calix felt his eyes reddening. The generosity overwhelmed him for a moment. He knew, for the rest of his life, the two young Cultivators in front of him would forever be engraved in his mind.

Then, as if remembering something, Desmond made a slight chuckle as he gazed towards General Calix with an even more defeated expression that was filled with supreme envy, boarding on greed. “You won't even need to bring a single part of the Ferocious Beasts you have killed. You're already rich beyond belief.” Realizing what Desmond was mentioning, General Calix laughed and nodded.

Desmond continued with a defeated sigh, seeing Cesars and Lilys slight confusion. “The rock you had found and had attached to the King Ranked Ferocious Beasts was a Space Meteorite. If it hadn't been for my time in the Imperial Family, I wouldn't have known what it was. Simply, it's used to make Spacial Rings. It's a coveted material to say the least. I still don't know what Grade this particular Space Meteorite is, but we'll know at the Capital. Still, even if it's the worst quality, with its size, you'll easily be able to trade it for two High Quality Spacial Rings. Most likely, it'll be worth much more.”

Lily, hearing it was a Space Meteorite, became more serious. Seeing Desmonds gaze, she knew the Space Meteorite was currently in General Calixs Space/Storage Ring. Immediately, she focused her eyes and said in a cold voice “Who has the knowledge of the Space Meteorite Desmond?” You should know the grave circumstances of spreading such information.” She was worried that Desmond had sent a Voice Transmission to the Imperial Family. To her, a Space Ring or a Space Meteorite wasn't of great value, but to the people of the Floating Cloud Kingdom and the Imperial Family, they were supreme treasures. Having such a treasure could put their lives in danger. She knew human Cultivators could become blind with greed.

Not to mention, Lily knew that both Cesar and her would soon have a Noble Title. Having a Space Ring was only a matter of time.

Cesar was also intently watching Desmond facial expressions. He would be able to tell if Desmond lied. Both Lily and Cesar hoped he wasn't going to.

Desmond knew of their worries and under Lilys cold gaze, trembled slightly and quickly said “Don't worry. I have sent the Imperial Family a Sound Transmission but didn't specify what it was. I also sent them some information about you two. They are probably the only faction in the Capital that can offer you a respectable price for the Space Meteorite. Since you'll be joining their military, it'll help you build a good relationship with them. They won't steal from juniors since it'll lose them face and you'll be worth more to them then the Space Meteorite regardless.”

Cesar felt like a frog in a well with the mention of Sound Transmissions. He knew Cultivators were able to bend Space to their will with Space Rings, it made sense that they would have long distance communication.

Lily made a complicated face at the response. After a few moments of contemplation, she hardened her face in a relaxed manner and let out a deep breath through her nose.

'Whats done has been done. This could even be an opportunity.' Lily said in her mind. She didn't blame Desmond for his decision. With slight fatalism in her voice, she fixed her gaze on Desmond and said “Make more Sound Transmissions to the Imperial Family. Let them know it's a Space Meteorite and let them know of our contribution to the village. Let them know we want to join the military. At minimum, we'll take Noble Ranks in exchange for the Space Meteorite. If it's a higher grade Space Meteorite, then the deal with upscale with additional benefits. Make sure nothing goes wrong. If something does... Then you won't be able to bear the consequences.” She made a silent threat. She had already lost too much, and would rather destroy the world than lose anything more. She only had herself and Cesar left.

Desmond, seeing the resolution in her face, quickly agreed. Sound Transmissions were expensive, but would be a necessary expense here. Not to mention, with the amount of King Ranked Ferocious Beasts, both Lily and Cesar indeed were qualified for the Lowest Nobel Rank of Knight.

Of course, no one else had heard the conversation since Lily had enveloped everyone in her Aura, making sure no sound could escape. The more ears this news reach, the greater danger for them. But Lily knew that only Desmond and General Calix knew what a Space Meteorite was in the entire village. It was just a precaution on her part.

Soon, the tense atmosphere evaporated. Desmond, in a more relaxed voice, said “Thank you for the generosity you've given to our village. But I have some treasures that have been collecting dust in my Space Ring. They will be given to you two as a sponsor and for my appreciation. And...” Desmond looked at the small emerald short sword at Lilys hips, “I'm sure that the sword isn't able to bear the full brunt of your power.” Desmond said with some confidence. He couldn't tell Lilys Cultivation, but he knew it was immeasurably deep. Desmond knew that Lily was no unknown orphan. Neither was Cesar. They had to be from a powerful faction that's been destroyed. From her attitude towards wealth, Desmond knew it was more powerful than his Imperial Family, even the entire Kingdom. She cared more for their safety than wealth. The world was vast and boundless, and Desmond knew that there were families, clans and associations that held the world in the palm of their hands. But he didn't understand why Lily had remained unknown in the village for years.

Lilys attitude turned soft at Desmonds words along with her eyes. She nodded and then turned to the festivities. “It's been some time since I've last cooked. Cesar, I'll cook up a nice feast. I'm sure you have something to take care of.” There was a hidden meaning in her words.

Cesar immediately understood and nodded. Since they had just given away all of the kills, it meant that they had also given away most of the bones. Quickly, Cesar made his way around the mountain of treasures to gather 80% of the total Essence in the bones. When alone, Cesar was going to turn the Essence into Relics for Lily to consume. The King Ranked Ferocious Beasts would go to Lily, but he would absorb the Elite Ferocious Beast Essence since they wasn't useful for Lily.

Not to mention, currently, Essence wasn't overly or absurdly useful for Cesar. He could gleam information from the Essence, and unlike Lily, he didn't need to contemplate the laws of the world to advance his Cultivation. That would occur in the future. He could also partially rely on Jasmine to learn the laws of the world. Of course, Essence still contained a physical aspect of a stimulant, and Cesar wasn't ever going to turn down Essence to absorb. He just recognized that it was more useful for Lily at the moment. There would always be more Essence in the future.

After the 5th Houtian Profround Realm, The Heavenly Mirrors range had increased to 150 meters. The Yang energy he was now absorbing was of a slightly greater quality, not to mention the increase in quantity. Cesar also felt that The Heavenly Mirror was changing, advancing, as if it was on the cusp of something.

Cesar then enjoyed the festivities. He went over to where the young Cultivators were fighting against the Ferocious Beasts. All of them were using swords. He saw multiple holes in their form and technique. Since Jasmine had run countless visualizations and simulations in his mind, Cesar had perfect form and sword technique. He still need to integrate his sword with his Elements, but that was only a matter of time. Cesar knew that he should go sit near Lily and enter his Soul Realm and fight against whatever opponent Jasmine had selected for him. He only needed a moment of thought, and decided that it was the correct decision. As he was about to turn and return to Lilys side, a voice called out to him.

“Brother. Come and fight with us!” One of the younger male Cultivators called out. He had seen Cesar watching them. Cesar and Lily were complete enigmas to most of the village, including the younger generation. Most of the young men idolized the Goddess Lily and were completely envious of Cesar. They thought that their relationship was of siblings, brother and sister.

Another, more arrogant male, said “Don't bother. He hides behind Lily like a coward. I bet he doesn't even know how to fight.”

Cesar didn't get angry at the comment. He even smiled at the comment. Even the elders overseeing the youths seem to agree with the youth because they were sending nervous gazes at Lily, who was happily cooking and mingling with the villagers, completely ignoring Cesar. The young women however, looked like they more than wanted Cesar to join them.

Cesar was still in the particular mood where he wanted to help and give, so he asked the young men and women a question. “Are you joining us for The Exhibit?”

He had seen that the youths were between the 3rd Houtian Profound Realm and the 5th Profound Realm. But there was heavens worth of difference between them and Cesar in terms of strength.

“Of course! With the King Ranked Ferocious Beast meat, we have good chance of advancing our strength! This year, we have a good chance of joining the military and recovering our broken pride!” A youth valiantly answered.

'How much time do I have to play around?' Cesar asked Jasmine.

[One Hour and Thirty Minutes. Then enter The Soul Realm.] Jasmine said in an expressionless voice. It seemed she was still working on Cesars other personality and stream of consciousness.

Cesar sighed while he started walking towards the good natured youth. “You will all die during the trip to the Capital, let alone The Exhibit. Your movements, form and technique have many holes. Let me give you some pointers.”

Before the youths could explode in rage at the insults, Cesar stepped behind the good natured young man and said “Don't resist.” From behind, Cesar corrected the youths posture and guided his movements with his hands and body. “Bend your knees a little... like that. Well done.” The youth quickly realized that Cesar wasn't weak. Under Cesars strength, he couldn't even control his own body. Cesar continued to talk from behind the youth. “Ferocious Beasts are instinctual creatures. They react to your movements. So if you can master your own movements, then killing Ferocious Beasts becomes simple. Get a feel for your current posture and see the benefits while I demonstrate.” Then Cesar took control of the Ferocious Beast that was fighting against the good natured youth.

“The easiest way to kill Ferocious Beasts with similar strength is to use their instincts against them. If you can dodge their attacks with minimal distance, then you have a few moments to use the Ferocious Beasts confusion. Their mind believes that their attack should have landed, while it doesn't in reality. That causes a few moments of dissonance and you can take advantage of that opening to secure a kill.” Cesar said while looking at the youth. The Ferocious Beast was raging and attacking away at Cesar, but Cesar would dodge with minimal movement and distance between him and the Ferocious Beast. Cesar didn't even look at the Ferocious Beast and continued to look at the youth with his hands behind his back. Cesar didn't use The Formless Fighting Style since then the youth wouldn't learn anything and his confusion would just increase.

While Cesar demonstrated and played around with the Ferocious Beast, his actions had caused a commotion and the villagers and even the Cultivators were now looking at him with incredulity.

Then, when Cesar had demonstrated his movements, he started using his claws to lightly cut the Ferocious Beast, demonstrating the opening caused by the dissonance. “Each attack causes an opening that should be taken advantage of. You just need to take advantage of it. Ferocious Beasts will protect their vitals at all times, but their arms, legs, and sides will become vulnerable as the result.” Cesar said as he made light cuts on the arms and sides. The incredibly aspect of this demonstration was that Cesar was using human levels of speed to dodge the Ferocious Beast. It was pure precision. Even the humans of the village could see Cesars movements. He looked graceful, and seemed to dodge by mere micro millimeters. Yet his cloths and hair continued to sway in the air. “With the right timing, attacking their vitals is also possible.” Cesar demonstrated by lightly cutting the neck, forehead and chest. His movements were effortless and there was no air of arrogance or pride present. He seemed like a peer helping his fellow friend or an elder teaching his student. Patient, studious and caring.

Cesar stepped forward, controlling the Ferocious Beast to glide right along behind him. The Ferocious Beast continued to attack Cesar from behind, but there was no break or irregularity in Cesars steps. “It's your turn now.” Cesar said lightly as he smoothly ducked and stepped behind the youth, grabbing the sword from the youths hand while the Ferocious Beast was ready to continue its attack.

The youth, feeling vulnerable without his weapon, panicked and froze on the spot. Cesar, with precise timing, controlled the youths body to dodge the attack with minuscule movement. The youth felt the wind from the Ferocious Beast attack while it was millimeters from his body. The youth felt goosebumps appearing on his skin. “You are in no danger. Relax and pay attention to the Ferocious Beast. Stay in the same form.” Cesar lightly said in the youths ear from behind. “Pay attention to the Ferocious Beasts' physical reach. The length of the arms and legs.” Cesar pointed at them. “Remember the reach. Then, pay attention to the shoulder muscles and lower hips/upper legs if your against a two legged Ferocious Beast or a fellow Cultivator. Those areas of movements will show you where they will move next.” Cesar said while he let the youth get accustomed to the distance of each dodge and the overall movements. Dodging within mere centimeters was dangerous yet there was great reward in the risk. “Now the next part involves active participation. When you see an opening, use your fingers and arms to point and slice in that direction.” The youth did as he was told. “Remember to keep your eyes in the areas I mentioned. Use your peripheral vision to attack.” Cesar pointed out the youths flaw. The youth soon felt more confidence in himself. He became more accustomed to the strange movements and slowly, the youth gained more control over his body from Cesar. He knew, if he had his sword, he could easily kill the Ferocious Beast. “Well done.” Cesar echoed behind him. “Now, I'm going to give you back your sword and push the Ferocious Beast back. It will take the Ferocious Beast two seconds to reach you. In those moments, I want you to use all you've learned. Ready?” Cesar asked. When the youth nodded with confidence, Cesar enacted his plan.

Cesar placed the sword back in the youths hands and lightly pushed the Ferocious Beast away 4 meters. Cesar closely shadowed the youth from behind, allowing the youth complete and free movement, while still being within range in the need of interference. The youth, being an excellent learner, matched Cesars teachings as the Ferocious Beast closed upon him with a claw swipe. With perfect prediction of the Ferocious Beasts muscles, the youth gracefully side stepped the attack while bringing his sword up for a horizontal slice, perfectly cutting of the Ferocious Beasts head. “Well done.” Cesar said with a smile.

The Cultivators, both young and old, looked at Cesar in another light. The villagers saw him as an exuberant and magnanimous Cultivator. They felt closer to Lily and Cesar then any other Cultivator in the village. They felt that Cesar and Lily acted human and felt down to nature. They didn't put on airs or consider the human villagers lesser beings.

The youth said “Thank you...” to Cesar in great appreciation. The lesson had been a greater boon to him than all his previous lessons combined. It was as if a new world had been in front of eyes and he had only stepped inside it for the first time. “Remember the feeling... Don't let it escape and hone the feeling during battle. Elite Ferocious Beasts aren't so simple in their attacks and neither are Cultivators. If you can make some progress, then maybe you'll live during the journey and in The Exhibit.” Cesar simply said.

With such a display, Cesar implemented himself in the hearts and minds of both the human villagers and the Cultivators. Even though he was only at the 5th Houtian Profound Realm, the other Cultivators felt vastly inferior to Cesar. Both in attitude and aptitude. The arrogant youth twisted his tongue and regretted his decisions to question Cesars strength. He was glad that Cesar hadn't made him the demonstration, and chose the Ferocious Beast instead. Cesar also showed that he had a magnanimous heart and great virtue. Such qualities were rare in the Cultivators in general, not to mention those of the village. This didn't include his influence of the Elite and King Ranked Ferocious Beast meat. Most people now had access to resources they would never be able to afford.

Lily and Cesar were truly the heroes of the village.

Then another youth said “Can you help us too?” This time, it was a female. As Cesar was about to respond, he felt a particular emotion being aimed at him by Lily. When he turned around his gaze met hers, he saw effectual pride, happiness, and love radiating from her eyes and aura.

Lily had witnessed the entire event and watched with great emotion.

From an obtuse angle, a person can exclaim that Cesar had done the entire charade to make himself look good. But Cesar himself hadn't. He didn't care much for the youth he had just helped, Cesar didn't even know the youths name, nor did he care to learn it.

Yet while Lily was looking at him with such an expression, she was also maintaining small talk with another person. Cesar saw that he was 6.4 ft tall, talked and acted with ease and confidence. A natural flirt and used to being in a position of power. He had handsome features and golden hair, reminding Cesar of another person. Cesar slightly turned to look at Desmond with a raised eyebrow. Desmond just responded with a helpless look.

“Hmm. Not right now.” Cesar denied the female Cultivator to her disappointment. Cesar walked towards Lily, holding her gaze. Cesar was sure that the male talking to Lily was Desmonds son. Cesar didn't feel threatened nor did he feel that someone was overstepping on his territory. He didn't feel dominant nor alpha like his previous self. Such thoughts and emotions were beneath him, particularly with such expressible emotions being directed at him from Lily.

Practically the entire village, aside from the few youths fighting the Ferocious Beasts and the elders watching them, watched as Cesar walked up to Lily.

“That was so sweet.” Lily purred. As if her body was no longer in her control, she put her arms around Cesar and she planted a sensual kiss on his lips in front of the entire village. To the elders and Cultivators, this was not surprising since they had seen Lily and Cesar acting as a couple on top of Mother Wolf just a week ago. To the younger generation, the village and the youth standing beside the couple however, it came as a complete surprise.

“I thought they were siblings!” One of the male youths exclaimed with outrage!

Even though there were hundreds of King Ranked Ferocious Beasts corpses, and the Cultivators had known who they had come from, they lost themselves for a single moment and became hostile to their benefactors.

Both the males and females Cultivators that had admired Cesar and Lily, sent gazes of killing intent to whom they thought was their enemy. The males chose Cesar and the females chose Lily. The human villagers at most sent gazes of envy, but it wasn't killing intent.

It had only been for a moment, a fraction of a second and Cesar himself had been expecting it thus didn't have an immediate reaction. Lily however, since she had the Imperial Family hanging over her head as a dark cloud from the earlier talk, had unconsciously been on guard.

Instantly, Lily had identified the Cultivators who had sent the intent to kill, and for a single moment, blasted them with her Aura. She had somehow held back but it didn't matter. Her Cultivation was worlds beyond the rest of the younger generation. If it hadn't been for Cesars quick reflexes, and the use of his own Aura to mostly counteract her Aura, the entire younger generation would have been killed.

Due to Cesars influence and intersection, only a small amount of Aura made it to the perpetrators. That small amount however, was enough to bend every single Cultivator to their knees.

“Thud!”

Every single Cultivator that had sent killing intent on either Lily or Cesar fell on their knees. They had no time to react, and since the Aura had only been released for a fraction of a second, there were no residual effects or any damage done.

The Cultivators and the village however, took it as her moment and version of a demonstration.

It was a show of power and strength. Direct and to the point. The few Cultivators that were sensitive to Auras however, namely Desmond and General Calix, looked at Cesar as if he was a monster. They had sensed that Cesar had carried the brunt of Lilys Aura and had directed the multiple sources towards himself. But since it had only happened for a single moment, they thought that they had imagined it. But the information attached itself to the inside of their minds.

If Cesar could potentially divert such a potent Aura, then he was able to attack with an Aura of similar strength.

So while most of the villagers and Cultivators looked at Lily with extreme fear, Desmond and General once again revised their evaluations of Cesar. For men of their experience and age, that was very rare. For Desmond, that also re-balanced the power relation between Lily and Cesar inside his mind. It was much closer than his original estimates.

The younger generation, who was on their knees, stood up in shame and embarrassment. But they kicked themselves mentally. The loss of control had cost them face. Even Desmonds son, who thought of himself as an elite among elites, fell down on his knees. He was also the only member of the younger generation that had detected the battle of Auras that had occurred. He sighed as he got up on his feet. He had almost caused his own death. He gave up on his idea of courting Lily. He wasn't a match for Cesar and Lily was further beyond him then he had expected or even imagined. As he walked towards his father, Desmond, he asked “Is The Exhibit full of monsters like them?”.

Desmond just shook his head while he looked at his son. “Do not call the person who just saved your life a monster.” He said in a fatherly manner. Then smiled in irony as he remember looking at Cesar as a monster just a few moments ago. Then as if remembering something, Desmond heavily answered “Everyone that enters that hell has the potential of a monster. Even if they enter as sheep, they come out as wolfs. These two have just shed their skins early.”

Imagining what could have happened, Lily thanked Cesar. Cesar just smiled as he comforted Lily. “I was promised a feast.” Cesar said trying to get Lilys mind off the matter.

Raising his eyebrow, Cesar said with a smile “Promises must be kept.”

Lily smiled and nodded.

Soon, the festive atmosphere returned and the village carried on with the party. While eating, Cesar planned to visit the library and Desmond planned to go to the Imperial Family at the Capital in a few days time. Desmond sent the required Sound Transmissions and prepared to return to his family after a very long time.

The moment the Imperial Family received the new Sound Transmissions, a storm started brewing.
