《The Chibok Papers》Chapter 11: New York, 14 November

“I’m losing him, Mom! I’m losing him!” Tracy wails into her handset.
“Relax, Baby, relax. Who are you talking about?’
“Dave, Mom. My lover.”
“Okay, what’s happening between you two?”
“He doesn’t love me, Mom. I think he has another woman somewhere and probably thinks I aint good enough for him.”
“Hey, cool it, Baby! Don’t jump to conclusion, my little girl.”
“Mom, he doesn’t even try to make out with me. We’ve been going out for God knows how long and he doesn’t even attempt, I mean, ATTEMPT, to make out with me. What kind of normal American male does that, Mom? It’s either he’s got another lover somewhere or I’ve lost my sex appeal, Mom!”
“Stop that rubbish, Baby. Has it ever entered into that pretty head of yours that he may be a Christian?”
“So? Aint I?”
“I mean the born-again Christian male, Baby. Their doctrine forbids them from indulging in sex before marriage.”
“I don’t believe it. I think he’s got a thing or two going with one of his undergrad females. I saw some of them in his office the other day. They were practically drooling in the mouth over him while casting nasty glances at me as if I were an intruder. And, Mom!”
“Yes, Baby?”
“Some of those ladies are simply smashing!”
“So are you, Baby. There’s no man under the stars that can resist your charm, my little girl.”
“Moooomy! You can flatter!” laughs Tracy in spite of the seriousness of the situation.
“Cross my heart, Baby. I speak nothing but the truth. And if you doubt me, ask your dad!”
“Dad, indeed!”
Both break into uncontrollable laughter which further reduces the tension in Tracy. Afterwards, Tracy’s mom advises her to be patient and not rush things. She believes that things will sort themselves out later if they are supposed to be together. Tracy thanks her and is about to hang up when her mom throws a parting shot.

“By the way, what happens to the famous Captain Ice Block?”
“Dead, Mom. Awaiting burial!”
Mother and daughter burst into another gale of laughter before hanging up.
“That was Tracy, right?” asks General Winters, sipping wine from a glass cup. Husband and wife are relaxing in their plush living room in suburbia New York.
“Yes, my dear. She is worried about her relationship with her African American lover.”
“Any problem?”
“None…except that I don’t know if you’re ready to embrace African American grandchildren. You know I don’t care any which way the pendulum swings.”
“I should be the last person to harbour such demeaning sentiments, dear. I’m alive today because my African American friend and colleague took the bullet that had my name on it some thirty years ago.”
“Really? You never told me, dear,” says his wife going to sit beside him.
“We were in combat in Vietnam at the time. We were on our way back from a mission, back to Command Saigon. We ran into an ambush mounted by sharpshooting Vietcong rebels and had to shoot our way past them. I didn’t know that a sniper had me in his gun sight. A sudden flash in the sunlight alerted Pete and he jumped up and pushed me down. Unfortunately, the bullet meant for me hit him instead. He died instantly. He was black.”
A long silence greets his declaration.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” says the wife quietly.
“Amen,” responds the general. “From that day I became colour blind as far as human beings are concerned.”
The wife says nothing else but holds his hands. She could hear the quavering in his voice as he recalls the incident. Thirty years and the memory still hurts!

Infracto Animo
Pain. Lies. Betrayal. Deceit. Struggles. Sufferings. Humans are an Embodiment of Sin. They Lie, Cheat, Steal, Kill, Threaten, Rape, Betray, and Blackmail. All of this in order to sate their Greed, their Lust, their Envy, their Wrath, their Laziness, their Gluttony and their Pride. As such, Humans go to incredible lengths to achieve their goals. This reaches the point where it can be called "Inhumane". But if Humans are an Embodiment of Sin, is there really such a thing called "Inhumane"? They say "God created us all equal." and "We are equal in God's eyes." yet why are there many people who are poor, sickly and deformed. Did they do something to be punished as such? Even before they were born? Is there really such a thing called "Equality"? Is there really such a thing called "Peace"? Is there really such a thing called "God"? This is a story about the pain, struggles and sufferings of a man bound in a loop of never ending hatred and betrayal. Will he break the loop and end his ordeals? Or will he accept his fate and accept the loop? Light and Dark; Good and Bad; Angels and Demons; Abyss or Utopia. What will the man choose? Succumb to Darkness or reach out towards the Light. Now his story begins... This story is pretty grim and depressing with vivid violence (gore on the later part). Sexual content is included but I don't plan on making this an ero-novel so it will just involve rape and (not-so)normal intercourse. MC starts normal and simple then turns anti-hero but... well, let's just say he won't stay that way but he also won't be a "good guy". Just a HEADS UP, I am not into satanism or cults or anti-christ but some themes and dialogues here are related to demons and stuff like that so to those who will read this, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. This story is a fictional novel by which is created by the author's own words and thoughts. Any person, circumstances or happenings that are written here is purely fictional and does not relate to anything that might coincide with the plot settings and characters of this story. This story is the manifestation of the author's (my) own understanding of pain, deceit, struggles, betrayal and suffering but it does not represent the author's (my) own experiences in life.

Windwalker
Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
