Hey, everyone,
I know its been a long time, but I'm not dead or gone. I won't go into detail about why I was gone for so long; however, I will tell you all why this fiction went on hiatus.
When I first set out to write Fracture, I already knew how the story would end and the major arcs that I wanted to have. Unfortunately, mistakes on my part caused the story to balloon into something else entirely. Would you believe me if I told you Terras was only supposed to be twenty chapters? It was meant to be an arc designed to solidify Jack, his companions, and the key power vying for control of our protagonist. In a way, I was still doing that with Terras, but as I wrote it, I invested too much into the arc which turned it from a twenty chapter intro arc to a potentially one hundred chapter saga with extreme ramifications on the power scale, the world, and the pace of the story.
Eventually, writing the story became difficult since I realized that I would have to make the story into something I didn't want it to be to compensate for my poor planning.
Hence, I decided to rewrite the story. My main goals for the rewrite are as follows:
-Revamping the LitRPG mechanics so that there is a possibility for attribute and skill gains outside of the core provided by Designations
-Making the Ranks feel more impactful and slowing down Jack's progression a bit so I could shift his power elsewhere
-Placing more emphasis on worldbuilding for Fracture in the first few arcs of the story through Remnant exploration
-Establishing Jack's character and the nature of his Gnosis from an early stage as well as his relationship with the World Keeper

-Beginning Jack's journey from his first moments in Fracture rather than 5 years after his arrival.
-Expanding the scope of Fracture including time scale, size, and population
That's a lot, right? It goes without saying that the story will be significantly different. That said, the core components of the characters will remain the same. You'll also find a few easter eggs, so I hope you enjoy it.

Blurb
Eternity's march wears down even those destined to see its end. He was one of them, one of the first and last. But... nothing went as it should have. The enemy came and its legions consumed the worlds and all those who rose to defend the cosmos.
Everyone except him. Despite all, he survived, fighting until he had nothing left, yet even as he welcomed it, the end never came.
Jack was given another chance. His fate brought him to a plane called Fracture, a nexus of the cosmos, where broken things go to find new purpose. Will he find his purpose? Or will the machinations of those who rule the Broken Lands lead him to ruin?

Labyrinthia's Maze
I had always found the idea of “Other Worlds” stupid. Magic wasn’t real. Even if it was the chance of someone spiriting away someone form a world without magic to a world with seemed utterly stupid. After all, what good would a tech geek do in a world of Dungeons and Dragons. Well, jokes on me, I guess. As I was about to log out of the NVR game I have been obsessing over for over 8 years, I blacked out. Next thing I know I am now living as my in game avatar in another world. Only I am now back to scratch, no more giant 200 floor dungeon, no more army of minions and traps, just me and a small room in the ground. Luckily, I have all I need to slowly rebuild my dungeon, I only hope I live long enough to do so. Who sent me here, what do they want from me, and can I ever return home? There better be answers to these questions because, while being my avatar is awesome, I also want to go home… I think.
