Chapter 021 - Change
By Skalsar
Back in [Mafay Village], the red-haired woman explained what had happened.
The other [Villagers] and [Soldiers] had also returned with the reinforcements.
But they weren't needed anymore.
Seeing all the orcs, she doubted it would be possible to get through, but they were surprisingly weak. Most of them were even lying down sick from some weird poison as it seemed.
A [Hero] was unbelievable strong.
But orcs were strong too.
Speaking in levels, if a level 1 [Orc Warrior] and a human level 100 [Novice] fought, the orc would win. If a level 100 [Orc Warrior] were to fight a human level 1 [Hero], the [Hero] would win.
That is how the deitys designed the world to be.
But you can't negate damage completly.
If enough damage is pilled up, even the [Hero] will die.
And there are things like critical hits on weakspots. Attacking the eyes is quite dangerous too.
>Because of their weakened state, I was getting through easily.
They tried to swarm me, but were no match.
So I slaughtered them all and finally reached that old [Adventurer] there. She pointed at Rego.
It seemed to be luck.
She was on her way back from a monster subjugation and saw weird clouds far away.
Noticing it was magic, something made her run in that direction, where she then met the orcs.
>If they had been at their full force, I doubt I would have made it in time.
Lant and Rego were more than happy about that coincidence.
Maybe the orcs were fleeing or came from a big fight.
Nonetheless, they had to die.
>But did you find her?! Did you find my girl?!The lord looked worried. The orcs were dead, but he still had no word about his daughter.

'It can't be that she was already killed, right?
She has to be alive!'
>I'm sorry, but there was nothing but orcs.Looking confused, the [Hero] didn't seem to know what was going on right now.
>Please calm down Odas, maybe the orcs really didn't take her.
But the lord didn't want to calm down.
His daugther was still missing.
What man would calm down in that situation?
>Maybe..
At that voice, everyone looked to Lant who was deep in thought.
>.. she was taken to the dungeon?
Rego and Odas went pale at that thought.
If the orcs did so, she should be as good as dead.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily had grown fond of the [Blazing Hellhound] somehow.
I didn't even notice when that happend.
What did I do at that moment?
Not even "Hivemind" understood it.
Humans are to be afraid of creatures.
They should run away, shake, fight for their life.
And not..
Ride on them.
How did she even climb up there?
Oh you betrayer. I see.
The flaming fur of a [Blazing Hellhound] has magical properties.
It decided to not burn her and let her have her way.
'Stop that you idiot! She is food! Dont play with her!'
With that said, it puts her down and looks a bit sad.
Just what is up with this creature?
'But you play with her all the time.', it tells me with a bit of envy.
Wait, what?!
'I'm not PLAYING!
I'm studying humans!
That is different!'
'In what way?'
"Hivemind" looks at me curious too.
What the heck?
You too?
Is it because I asked you not to eat her, that you take [Blazin Hellhounds] side, "Hivemind"?
'The difference is..! Well..
Different..'
What exactly is the difference in experimenting on her behaviour and playing?

In both I can see how she reacts to different situations.
Learn about her movement and intelligence.
But most of all, where the hell did Lily run off to again?
Oh no.
I left the [Black Gate] open.
Whenever I do, she runs through and explores the hive as if she owned the place.
Doesn't she know how dangerous that is?
Well, it isn't.
Because I told everyone not to eat her, till I'm done.
And she is quite good at evading traps.
That isn't the point though.
Annoying stupid little human girl!
When I catch you, I will eat you!
No, probaly not.
I want to test out what happens if you eat magic power next.
Sadly she still doesn't understand a word I say.
I would like to ask her why, but well, she won't understand.
She is too stupid for it.
'You hear me? Too stupid!'
'How do you know, maybe it's just ignorance?
Or maybe she knows that you will eat her after you succeed?
Can you say for sure that she is just stupid and not playing you?'
I look at [Hiveworker] in shock.
'That is, with all due respect, my [Queen].', he adds.
What if he is right?
Could a human be playing me?
But humans are stupid, aren't they?!
I have to find out!
Think about other ways.
What can I do if she refuses to understand?
Ah!
Just because she doesn't learn to talk with her mind, doesn't mean I can't learn to use voice.
With that thought, I lay down in the [Lair] and focus magic power.
I already understand most of the things she says with her voice.
There just is something missing for me to use it myself.

Obsession x Mana
The modern world had become exposed to a new element which became unanimously known as "Mana" after a freak meteorite incident, creating people with superpowers and monsters that threaten life on Earth. Perun, the "Progenitor" of the meta-humans retired as a war hero and created a Dark Guild, its members being the war orphans he had adopted throughout his career. His peaceful life of filling paperwork begins to collapse as the nightmare of his "Awakening" becomes increasingly unbearable, forcing his once-powerful abilities to turn dormant. Unbeknownst to Perun, the problem children he had adopted since young, have grown up into girls with cheat-level abilities due to the properties of his mana; they became meta-humans far beyond the level of humanity, powers that contest a twisted love monopoly for their father. Should anyone bare their fangs (or romantic interest) towards their beloved one, their sweet facades shall break with no hesitation. When their seemingly unaware Master is forced to return to the center stage again as a "Level 1" character like the rest of the world, his obsessive daughters shall move beneath the shadows to create his new legend. I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
