Chapter 15 - A serious discussion
Day 16
Neo checked Mr Floppy's status information. When he looked at the rabbits information something wasn't adding up.
Mr Floppy
Created from a normal grey rabbit, this version is larger and more powerful and less stupid. Later mutated while being exposed to a very high mana concentration. Later he became the trusted mount of the dungeon fairy Luna. She taught him how to improve himself and so he learnt how to fly and to breath fire.
Rank: F5
Traits: prolific breeder (rank 1); curious (rank 2); mana altered (rank 1); mana mutated (rank 1); flying rabbit (rank 3); fire breath (rank 1); intelligence (rank 2)
Costs: 600 mana ; 2.5kg animal material
He tried to create another Mr Floppy, but it was not working.
"Luna we have to talk about something!"
"Talk? Why talk, we should celebrate Luna and Mr Floppy the great warriors!"
"That's exactly what I' d like to talk about. I've been to a lot of dungeons, but I never saw something like a freaking rabbit that could fly and spit fire and why can't I create another Mr Floppy."
"Oh, ah, uhmmn, maybe because Mr Floppy is special? We have no time for this, I need to look after the wounds of our other great hero Mike!"
When Neo saw the fairy quickly flying away, he was one hundred percent sure that Luna was withholding some important information from him. Before Mike had just been the stupid human for her and now he became a great hero. He decided that the issue could wait until they cared for Mike's wound. He cleaned up the blood in the room and absorbed the carcasses of the wolves and the bear. The he repopulated the second floor and reset the big bad wolf on the first floor. After this was finished he looked after Luna and Mike.
"So can you help him? Do you even know healing magic?"
"Of course I do. Luna is a great dungeon fairy, she can heal anything in the dungeon!"
"Good to know."
He then watched the little fairy using her sword to cut out the arrow. After that she just put her hand on the wound and pumped some mana into it. The wound healed at rapid pace, but the boy didn't wake up. He was probably too exhausted.
"So Luna, his wounds are cared for. Do you have to tell me anything? Maybe you forgot to give me some information before?"

"It might be possible that Mr Floppy is a special dungeon monster."
"Why should he be special, I created him like all the other creatures."
"There could be the potentiality that his status is connected to the fact that he has a name."
"Wait what? You mean if I give a dungeon creature a real name it becomes special? But then why don't we give every creature in the dungeon a name?"
"Yes, but you can only have a limited quantity of named creatures in your dungeon."
"How many?"
"One for each level of the core. For every five levels you can create a real boss monster."
"So you tricked me when you asked me if he had a name!"
The little fairy started crying.
*Sob* "Luna is so sorry! Luna was angry about how you treated all the rabbits and Luna wanted to have a special rabbit. Luna loves rabbits."
*Sight*"It's ok, I'm not mad. You could've just asked me, I would've been proud to make him special for you."
"Really? You're the best!"
Neo checked Mr Floppy's status again and saw a change.
Mr Floppy
Type: Named dungeon monster
So his pop ups were only showing information to him, when he knew the concept of it. He asked himself what else was hidden from him right now.
"Ok Luna, let's change the topic. You know that I promised Neo something special if he could bring me a goblin. I plan to keep my word. When I was in other dungeons there were sometimes skill books between the drops from enemies. I looked into them, but it seemed like nobody except a dungeon is able to create one. Do you know how to create a skill book?"
"Of course Luna knows. Luna is an awesome dungeon fairy. The problem with skill books is that the dungeon has to have a detailed knowledge about the topic, technique or spell he wants to put in the book. It's very hard for a dungeon to get this knowledge just by watching adventurers using these skills."
"Did you forget that I was an arch mage before? I know uncounted skills and spells. So how do I create a skill book? Can I put more than one skill in one book?"
"Yes you can. If you have the knowledge it's pretty easy. You just have to visualize yourself putting the information in the book with your telepathic mind to mind language."
"Would that not just be the same as to write it down?"
"No no, a dungeons telepathic abilities are unique. You probably didn't notice, but it takes no time for you to speak. You could explain the contents of a whole library to somebody in an instance."
He really didn't notice that fact before. He created a small fire and watched the flame to keep track of the time. At the same time he randomly transmitted the numbers from one to one thousand to Luna.
"Which number was missing?"
"576!"
He was stunned. This was a legendary ability. While he transmitted the numbers the flame did not move, in addition normally nobody could remember which number was missing if you give him 999 in a random order. He immediately wanted to test it. He created a book from some plant material, then he visualized a C- rank mana cultivation technique together with some basic spells for mages and mana techniques for fighters. To complete the book he put in some guidelines for cultivating and how to prevent creating pitfalls for one's later progress. When he was finished, the book felt exactly like he remembered the skill books he found felt. He decided to let Mike test it immediately after he awakes.
"Ok nice! I will have a look at the blueprints I got from the goblins. It's awesome what you have done with Mr Floppy, are you able to train other monsters too?"
"Yes, but a dungeon fairy only has a bonus when she trains special monsters. The main task for a fairy in a grown up dungeon is to improve the special monsters."
"Good to know, so you have some fun playing ... ah I mean training Mr Floppy now. I will take care of the expansion."
After the conversation he checked the blueprints. He got one for each dead foe, but he reduced the identical ones he came up with six that showed any real difference.

Black goblin
The second evolution for a goblin . Black goblins are strong and smarter and they behave less subservient than their weaker cousins. Black goblins are the first evolution of goblins that could be called sentient. They care for their children, but they are still merciless to their enemies who they kill without remorse
Rank: E0
Traits: strong(rank 1); resilient(rank 2) merciless(rank 2)
Costs: 1000 mana ; 45kg animal material
Black goblin shaman
A black goblin that learned to wield basic magic. They are normally found in the leadership of tribes.
Rank: E5
Traits: intelligent (rank 1); mana affinity (rank 1) merciless(rank 2)
Costs: 6000 mana ; 45kg animal material
The new blueprints where awesome. He decided he would create a goblin raid team later after he expanded his mana capacity. At the moment the most scarce resources were plant and animal material, even after he got some from the goblins. The goblins were of a high rank compared to their weight and it would be a lot more cost efficiently than to recreate all the additional wolves and bears he uses to raise his life energy creation. If he created ten black goblins with good steel gear led by a shaman, who he would equip with the arm protector device, they could bring him some good creatures. With that said, it was time to for another round of expansion!

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.

The cover is commisioned and done by: Artist: FatCatInTheBox ***** Before you lot bashes me up with my English etc., consider this: 1. This is my first novel. First conceptualized and written some 23 years ago. Only until last year that I did some improvisations and improvements to what I had kept in the dusty corner of my room all these while. This story sees the light of the day because I challenged myself, that's all. 2. English is the 6th language that I speak. And in RRL, I'm using British English mostly to write my story. 3. Easier said than done. Rather than subjecting me to subjective comments/reviews about the language, point it out and suggest an alternative. One or two would do just fine. It goes a long way. The Pledge - This story shall continue till it ends properly.

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
