Chapter 2 - The visitor

Day 1

"What did Luna do? Why does Luna have to get a mean dungeon core?, Luna has always been good. Luna does not deserve this!" Neo heard between her bitter sobs.

He couldn't help himself and started laughing hysterically. The relief was too much, he couldn't control himself.

"And now the evil dungeon core is laughing about Luna's misery." she cried.

"I'm sorry for the threat, I was expecting someone else and I wasn't laughing about you. I'm just relieved right now. So, your name is Luna, my name is Neo. What do you mean by'getting a dungeon core' and how did you get here?" I asked, trying to appease her a little bit.

"What do you mean by 'How did you get here'? Luna is a dungeon fairy and you are a new dungeon. Every new dungeon gets a fairy and the fairy gets to the dungeon!"

That was not really helping. He had heard of dungeon fairies in legends, but he never met one, even in the dungeons he destroyed in his research.

"And what does a fairy do?"

"A fairy is like a mother to a dungeon. Luna will be a great mother. I will teach you to speak, to think, how to use magic and how you can grow your influence. Luna is the best teacher!" she proudly boasted.

Neo coughed slightly.

"I already know how to think, I'm speaking with you right now and I already used my mana to expand my dungeon over this whole room."

She looked around, then at him and started to cry again.

"Then Luna is useless. Luna can't go back and without mana from a dungeon core, Luna will wither and die."

He decided the alleviate the situation, he was in dire straits right now and needed any help he could get. In addition, the desperate cries of the small fairy were heart-wrenching.

"You won't die. And you are not useless, you can stay with me and I will provide you with mana. Together, we will build the best dungeon ever." He tried to improve her mood.

"Reaaaally?"

"Really!"

"You are not lying?"

"I'm not lying!"

"Ok"

Binding Alarm

Dungeon Fairy Luna wants to bind with you for life.

Do you accept yes/no

"Let's wait with the binding for a moment, ok? I have a few questions first."

"So, you don't want Luna."

"No, wait. I just need the wise Luna to answer a few questions first."

"Luna is really wise, she is already eight hours old!" the little Fairy proudly proclaimed.

That explained a lot. But wouldn't that mean she was born at the same time, when he became the dungeon core.

"So, my first question is, after we bind, will you be able to leave the area of our dungeon?"

"Why would any fairy leave her dungeon? This is not right. A fairy belongs to the dungeon!"

"Yes, but is it possible for a fairy to leave the dungeon for a short time, maybe to get something?"

"I don't know."

"You see, I have a problem. I already expanded my dungeon over this whole room and there is no more life energy here. To expand the dungeon to a second level, I need ten or more life energy to create a new dungeon floor. So, if we bind now, we could be stuck in this room forever. We are in a sealed tower and no one can enter it except Luna."

"Luna is the best!"

"Next question, can you lift my core and move it to the next level of the tower?"

She flew to him and tried to pick him up, but she was too weak.

"Luna is too weak right now. A fairy gets her strength from the dungeon. If Luna's dungeon becomes stronger, Luna will become stronger too."

"Let me think about our options for a moment."

He became more and more depressed again. Was it really possible that even with Luna, he would be stuck on this damned floor for eternity. For a moment, he thought about killing the fairy and using her life energy, but whatever he was, he was not a child murderer.

"Who's that creepy dude over there?"

Luna's question interrupted his thought process and she was pointing her finger at his old body.

"That's my old body. I was a mage trying to create a dungeon, then an accident happened and I was sucked into the dungeon core. My body over there is still alive, but it's far too strong for me to absorb."

"I could cut off little pieces and you could absorb the pieces."

Luna suggested while suddenly holding a tiny sword in her hand.

"Sorry, that would not work. This is a body of an immortal. Even if you would throw it from the top of this tower, it would not get a scratch and where did you get that sword from?"

"Everybody knows that every fairy has a sword. That's my fairy sword. A fairy has to hunt the first intruders in a new dungeon, so the dungeon can absorb them and create his own forces. Luna is a great warrior."

Neo decided to drop the issue of the magically appearing sword, he had bigger concerns right now.

"Ok, you are a great warrior. Can you let me think for a moment?"

"Ok."

After a few minutes he came up with a new idea.

"We are currently talking with our minds, are you able to talk with your voice?"

"Of course, Luna has a nice voice."

"Of course, you have a nice voice. You said you need to bind with me to get mana, otherwise you will wither and die. Can't I just give you mana before the binding and how much time do you have?"

"I don't know and I only have a little mana left. It should only be enough for an hour or so."

"Come here for a moment and put a hand on my core, and I will try to give you mana. Please say stop if it's too much or say so if you need more."

She flew over to him and laid her hand on his core. He started to give her mana, at first only one point every few seconds but when she asked for more he gave her more. After about 100 mana, she removed her hand.

"Phew, I'm full. That should be enough for a few days."

"Great. Now I need you to listen to me. This is very important for both of us. I want you to go down the stairs, there you'll find a corridor with four doors. Under no circumstance open the first two doors. You need to open the third one. The doors are powered by magic, as long as you touch the handle, you can open it without any force. Behind the third door is the kitchen. There are two wooden statues in one corner of it. These are golems I made for one of my apprentices. You can activate them with your voice. I want you to activate them saying "Ten-Break-Alpha" and, after that, order them to grab the three bags cabinet and to follow you back to me. Please repeat this for me."

After repeating the instructions three times, he sent her on her way to the lower floor. Now, all he could do is wait and to hope that she does not open the wrong door. Otherwise she would get herself killed immediately as an intruder by the warden golems.
