Chapter 31. As time goes by. Part 2.
Gurd’s point of view.
“Haaa…” I give a small sigh looking at the first rays of sun starting to show over the horizon.
“Asger really likes to take his time in the morning…” I grumble waiting for him.
“But seriously it’s hard to believe that it’s been already more than 4 months since the day I started teaching that brat.” I mumble whilst turning my attention towards the ground which is already buried under a thick blanket of snow.
Suddenly I hear a small squeak from the opening door behind me.
I immediately look back and see my brat slowly creeping out of the house with a very dejected expression.
‘Ha, ha, ha… I think I looked the same when my old man was teaching me…’ I chuckle a bit remembering those bitter old days.
‘But back then it took me only about two months until I figured out what was going on. So it’s quite strange that my brat with all that intelligence still doesn’t get it…’ I think looking at him.
“So, Asger, are you prepared for another exciting day?” I ask him loudly.
“Ughhh…” He just lets out a sound which is similar to an animal growl, as he keeps on walking towards me.
‘I remember about a month ago he asked me if we could stop this training, because according to him he gains fewer stats comparing to the days he trained alone… That foolish brat…’ I’m feeling somewhat of a disappointment, since I thought he would show a little bit more motivation.
‘Back in the days then he first revealed to us that he can do magic. My wife Jensina and mediscussed a lot and we came to one conclusion: He either will be someone great, or he will be just another village idiot. And today I can admit that he definitely has a lot of potential to become something amazing even though he is just too blind to see it himself.’

“Haaa… Fine let’s do IT!” Finally Asger shows a little bit of spirit as he gets into the defensive stance in front of me.
A small grin creeps on my face as I take a step forward closer to him and immediately lungemy right fist at his face.
Asger instantly reacts and bents back a little while diverting my attack with his left hand.
As my first attack misses his face by a hair's breadth, I start turning as I launch my left fist straight at his stomach.
Once more Asger manages to avoid it by twisting his body a bit.
‘Then how about this?’ I think amused as I keep on turning around with the momentum and attack his head again, just this time with my right elbow.
Noticing this my brat ducks a bit and with his hand pushes my attack upwards to miss his head. While at the same time he lunges his body towards me preparing to strike my stomach with his left elbow.
‘Ohhhh… But I’m not finished.’
As he evades my first attack I don’t stop and instead I keep on using the momentum of the spin as I launch my left fist towards him.
On the contrary to what I expected he doesn’t try to evade but instead he increases his speed as he tries to land a hit on me.
In the end my fist finally connects with Asgers side making him stumble a bit. But at the same time I notice a small tingling sensation from my abdomen.
“Ahhh…” Shouts Asger through the gritted teeth and starts rubbing his side.
“Ha, ha, ha… You abandoned your defense…” I say while laughing.
“Well it looked that I would be hit anyway so why not?” He says with a face still slightly twisted by pain.

‘You really make me proud, brat… Over the course of our training I always maintained the power and speed that was a bit above yours. So if you made a step forward I also made one. Even thought you didn’t notice, your reflexes and fighting skills got so much better that in a period of four months you managed to reach such a stage which would take other double that time.…’ I think looking at him.
‘But sadly I can’t let you know that because the biggest enemy of every warrior is his ego.’ I add in my mind.
“Asger, I think we should move on with your training.” I say in a bit serious voice.
“Right…” He stands up and makes a defensive stance again.
“No, no. I mean we should advance your training.” I say with a small grin on my face.
Strangely Asger's face becomes quite paler, but I divert my attention away trying to not see it and continue: “What I want to say is I believe it’s time for LESSON NUMBER TWO!!”
*Whooosh*
Suddenly I hear a sound as if a gust of wind started blowing even thought I feel none.
‘Huh?’ This picks my interest, so I try to look in the direction of the sound.
Before I have time to see anything I hear another strange sound but this time much further in the distance.
*Thump*
“Huh? Asger?” I ask confused because brat is gone.
I look around but he’s nowhere to be seen.
“ASGER!” This time I shout loudly hoping to hear some answer.
“Did he pull some kind of magic trick on me?” I ask myself loudly while looking to the strange track about 1 meter wide on the ground. And it looks like some kind of force just pushed snow to the sides as it uncovered the brown earth.
“I have never seen anything like that before.” I say looking at the strange sight.
Since it begins from where Asger stood, I immediately start running in the direction it leads.
It doesn’t take long before I notice a figure hardly 200 meter from where we were, lying down on the ground, in the snow, just outside of our yard.
I rush towards him hoping that nothing wrong happened. As I get closer I notice that he is unconscious but what catches my attention mostly is a bid red bump on his forehead.
I lift my eyes up towards the big old tree growing in front of us, then back at the bump on the brats head and say to myself: “Yeap… Great hero… My ASS!”
“Haa…” I sight a bit, grab him by his left wrist and start walking back to our yard while dragging him behind me.
Then suddenly I shout: “Jensina, he's unconscious again!”
