Before I start this, people have been asking if I'm going to write anything else. I already have been. Visit https://halostystales.wordpress.com/ to see it. I have a couple stories going there, and I hope you like them. Even if you don't want to make a wordpress account to comment, just seeing numbers from people visiting makes me happy, though I do enjoy comments.

Chapter 100 (Epilogue)
Mortimer stared into a beaker and shook it. Entirely for fun, of course. This beaker wasn’t relevant to actual work. As he looked over the data he had collected, he had to admire all of those who had come before virtual reality that had come up with cures of any kind. How did they do it? Sure, with effectively live human experimentation, Mortimer had made progress, and would continue to do so, but without the luxuries he had available… he wasn’t sure he could have gotten far. What did the people before him do? Human experimentation? Certainly, there was some of that. Clinical trials, and such. However, there was only so much you could try there. After all, you had to be reasonably certain that you wouldn’t kill the patients. Often, medicine could be tested on mice and rats, but only to the point of testing whether they would die, except in the cases where there were shared conditions.
In short, Mortimer thought those who came before him were quite impressive. He didn’t think he could do what they had done. However… with what he had now such as virtual reality, he was confident he could come up with a cure, or at least a better partial cure. He wanted to improve Solara’s quality and quantity of life as much as possible. However, he wasn’t going to throw himself into his research so far as to exclude everything else. After all, if he couldn’t spend time with her, it would be ultimately a pointless effort.

Solara herself went through physical therapy, because her muscles had atrophied somewhat from disuse. Even artificial stimulation of the muscles only worked so much. Natural exercise was better. After that, Solara returned to school. After all, she had not finished her university education, and she wanted to. Though Mortimer was entirely willing to provide for any expenses she would have, she continued her education more than just for the sake of a job. She wouldn’t be able to sit around being useless, doing nothing, or almost nothing. She was the type of person who needed the ability to be independent. However, although she had the capability, that didn’t mean she had to actually do everything on her own. Mortimer fully intended to marry Solara, but they weren’t planning to rush into it.
Mortimer’s parents were very pleased with how he had matured. Starting from a lazy, spoiled rich kid, he became a hardworking, successful adult. He was still probably a bit spoiled, though.
Angela and Alex continued to be together, which was convenient for Mortimer since that meant he could hang out with more people he cared about at the same time more easily. He was also happy that they seemed happy.
Master Valarao occasionally got in touch with Mortimer, and he upheld his promise to make sure he kept up with training. Mortimer enjoyed being fit and healthy, and it unexpectedly came in handy on a couple occasions. Even if he didn’t keep up the same intensity of training he had in the past, he found time to maintain his condition.
Mortimer wasn’t content to just have a life of just working and dating Solara. Although of course adults had jobs, it was pointless for that to be the main feature of adult life. Jobs were things to allow you to maintain your lifestyle, and possibly to better the world. This meant that you had to have a lifestyle outside of work, which Mortimer had. Though, it mainly consisted of playing Royal Road, as well as a few other games that had shown up, though Mortimer also still enjoyed reading various forms of fiction. Even though he had enough money that he could probably live comfortably without working any more, he still had to do the improving the world aspect of his job. Specifically, helping Solara. Mortimer didn’t mind if he helped other people as a side effect of that.

//End Chapter 100, Epilogue
Final Notes: I wasn’t expecting to actually write this much when I started this fan fiction. I mostly just wanted to create a character that contrasted with Weed from Royal Road. It just started as the idea that Weed (I don’t even remember his real name >_<) was poor and hardworking, and Mortimer was rich and lazy, but they would both end up playing Royal Road in very different ways. Weed enjoyed it as a game, but also viewed it as a job. He strived to reach the top. Mortimer… just played it as a game. He wasn’t the type who cared about being on top. Not everyone is.
One important question people have been having:
Are you going to write anything else?
Yes, absolutely. I’ve been writing other stuff. I guess you missed my “I’m back post”, forgot about it, or didn’t care. Also, you didn’t read the top of this post. Go to halostystales.wordpress.com to see. I’m only repeating it so much because I want everyone to know that it exists. I’m not saying you have to like everything I write, but I don’t want people to miss out on possibly liking it because they didn’t know.
As for any unanswered questions… I think they are mostly not important. I’m going to throw some out there and pretend to answer some of them anyway.
Do Solara and Mortimer have kids? Who knows. Imagine the possibility that you like the most, it doesn’t really matter.
Is Alex a guy or a girl? *Shrugs* I’m sure most of you already have an opinion in your head anyway. However, there was that darn neutral gender option in the character creation, and I just couldn’t let it go unused.
Does Solara die? Absolutely. So does Mortimer. In fact, everyone dies. That’s what happens to humans. Immortality drugs don’t come about for a while yet.
What about those people Mortimer killed? They’re dead, obviously. There are actually a surprisingly large amount of unsolved deaths that happen every year. Those specific people died as the point that Mortimer actually isn’t a good person. He’s not the worst person, but he’s not a good one.
Thanks everyone for reading! I really mean that. It’s almost pointless to write without feedback (and especially positive feedback). Instead of goodbye, I think I’m going to say “See you later.” Hopefully, I will. (Did I mention I have a wordpress? Because I feel like you probably know that by now.)

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?
