《Electrosilver》Chapter 8

It had been two months since Dusk and his sisters went out. When they returned, the first time his mother saw the little fox, she had been quite surprised. However, when Sunny explained to her how they had come to meet the fox, she became even more so. After all, how could Dusk, who could not see, have known of the fox’s location?
That wasn’t even the half of it. What surprised her more was that the fox was quite far, even if it was someone that could see, they would not have been able to detect its presence Yet their baby, a boy who was not even two years old had detected it!
While Jade had tried a couple of times to get some information out of her son, she had failed miserably as every time she asked, Dusk played the fool. He knew that he would one day have to explain some of his abilities to his family. That day was, however, not today. And so every time his mom asked him about it, Dusk pretended to be clueless.
One thing became certain in the minds of Jade and her daughters though. That their son and baby brother was special. While his looks may have already been a straight give away, this recent ordeal was similar to pulling the last straw.
During these two months, Dusk had managed to be able to walk properly. Adding on to that, his detection range had increased to four kilometres. In as much as all of this really made Dusk happy, the thing that made him happiest was that he had now found the perfect name for his fox, Stream.
While Dusk was really smart, he had a really poor naming sense. And so it took him quite a while for him to come up with the perfect name for his companion. Over the course of the two months. Since Dusk had spent a lot of time with Stream, and since she was really intelligent, she had began to view Dusk as her big brother.
Dusk really enjoyed spending time with Stream. She was small, cute and her fur was really fluffy. From what Dusk had learnt from his mom’s memories, beasts were usually born with their affinities. The reason for this was that beasts were more attuned to nature than the high humans, and so by the time they were born, their bodies had already attuned to their elements.
Dusk had learnt from Stream’s memories that she had an affinity for fire. While quite a common affinity, he knew that she were she to train it well, it would become her biggest asset. Fire had huge destructive power after all.
Beasts, like high humans, were also able to increase their rank. However, while humans could only use one means, meditation, beasts could use two. The first was to naturally absorb mana from the surrounding. While this process was slow and subconscious, it was reliable as it meant that the longer a beast lived, the stronger it would be.
The second means was by defeating another beast and absorbing their mana core. While this method was really dangerous, it produced instant results. For this reason, Dusk was conflicted as to what to do. He knew that by leaving Stream out in the open by herself she would have most likely never survived. However, by bringing her into the palace, he had restricted her growth and cursed her to a fate of being weak.
This dilemma really ate at Dusk, he did not know what to do. Just as he was thinking about this, however, he came to a realization. Stream was smart, and since she was smart, she could do things that most other beasts probably couldn’t.

And so Dusk came up with a plan, he would transfer to her many memories. Memories of the human language, meditation, all the memories that he found useful. He would also transfer to her his feelings of affection for her. Her brain could handle it after all.
The purpose of these memories was for Stream to be able to develop herself. And true to his expectations, on the second day, which was today, Dusk noticed that Stream had begun to meditate, something only possible to humans before.
Moreover, since she was a beast, she was naturally attuned to nature, meaning that her speed of development once she started meditating was far faster than that of high humans.
Recently. Dusk had begun to exercise his body. It was always good to have a healthy body after all. He, however, did it stealthily as he was always around either his sisters or his mother. While lying down on his back, he would lift his legs up and down. He would also do stretches and run around in a manner that seemed like he was just a normal baby playing.
This of course surprised his family at first but they soon got over it.
While it seemed simple from the outside, this was really taxing for him as it raised his stamina up a few notches. Giving him just what he needed at the moment, as he did not want to over exert his body in his later training.
Of late, his sisters had been spending even more time with him. It seemed that they were quite worried that they only had approximately nine months before they returned to school. For this reason, Dusk made sure to make time for them amidst his training.
While Dusk usually thought a lot, of late he had been thinking much more.
He had two choices ahead of him. One was to live his life as a normal high human prince. While this life would be quite easy (he was a prince after all), it would not provide him with the adventure that he thrived as someone who had been in lockdown for most of his past life.
The second option was to leave the high human society once he was old enough and go experience for himself what the world outside the forest was like. However, while this option would provide him with adventure, it was extremely dangerous. After all, no one that had entered the forest with the purpose of leaving the continent had ever returned. The beasts in there were just too dangerous. He wasn’t even sure himself whether there was an end to the forest.
After a long period of thought, Dusk had come to a conclusion that while living a nice and comfortable life confined to the Alatza continent sounded nice, it just did not appeal to him. Having experienced years of seclusion and inactivity in his previous life, he just did not want to utilise this life in the same manner.
This time, he swore to himself that when he was old enough, he would leave the Alatza continent and go experience the world. For that reason, he needed to be strong. He did not know what type of danger awaited him but one thing he knew was that, provided he was strong, he would be able to get through all those tribulations and return to his family safely in the end.
As he loved his family and did not want to make them worry for him, he made sure to train his hardest. It was only when they saw that he was able to take care of himself that they would worry less. He also did not want to become so dependent on them that he would hamper their daily activities. Even though he was blind, he knew that he would make it big one day.

For that reason, for the next months until his sisters returned to school, when he was not talking to them or his mother, he was training. The good thing is that he was able to control his nerves, so once he had determined his limits, he shut of his pain nerves and trained his body to its limit.
Having done this many times throughout the year, by the time his sisters were returning to school, the state of his body had increased tremendously. His agility, speed, stamina and body coordination had all increased by an incredible amount.
His sisters’ send off to school had been really painful for him as he had grown really fond of them. It was then for the first time in this life that he cried genuinely out of emotion.
By the time his sisters were leaving, his range of detection had increased to 10 kilometres. At this point he could cover the whole city. He was like the city’s guardian angel. Only that he did nothing.
At this point in time, he could feel that his hair had reached his waist in length. He did not bother to cut it as he rather liked it. His height was just that of a normal two year old. Stream, on the other hand had grown to a length of approximately ten centimetres. Her tail, concurrently, was still three times as long as her body. It seemed that that was a trait that would remain with her.
Her growth in rank was similarly astounding. In just one year, she had grown from lower E rank to lower D rank, the rank of a full grown nature fox. This made even his mother surprised. Dusk and stream had grown so close that wherever he went, they went together. As Stream could understand the human tongue, Dusk found it simple to communicate with her, meaning that right now, they were like brother and sister.
At this point in time he still slept in his mother’s room. She still thought of him as a baby so she did not dare leave him alone. While he could speak, he rarely did so unless necessary. He had also never opened his eyes since the first time he did so. He found it to be a bother as it served no purpose.
One day as Dusk was adventuring through his mother’s room, he stumbled upon something that he was well aware of from his mother’s memories, a pair of pressure bracelets. These bracelets were things made by Space element experts.
The way they operated was such that they run mana through your body and analyse your current state. Using that, they exert pressure evenly throughout your body at its limit. With training, you can overcome the limit, upon which, the bracelet increases the pressure on your body to its limit once more for you to overcome. The good thing about this means of exercise was that it was both safe and it worked on the red muscles and not the while muscles. And so while you would be getting stronger, it would neither show on the outside nor would it stunt your growth.
The bad thing was that, one, these bracelets were too damn expensive and rare. Even Dusk’s mom only knew of two of them in existence. The other problem was that once you wore them, you would be unable to take them off until you surpassed your limit. The only other way to remove it was to break it, and since breaking such an expensive thing would be a waste, even the people who had such bracelets tended to avoid using them.
Feeling the immensity of this bracelet’s use, Dusk immediately went and asked his mother for the permission to wear them. While she refused at first, seeing the drooped expression on the face of the son that she loved so much, and seeing that there were no demerits to using them, she could only accept. Moreover, with this, maybe her son would get strong enough to defend himself once need be.
And so, for the next year, Dusk only did two things, spend time with his mom, and train. He and Stream trained like hell. There was nothing else to do after all, and he had a goal to accomplish. With all the knowledge from earth, he had also combined the best aspects from all different martial arts to come up with the ultimate palm martial arts of which he had begun to train in since he clocked two years of age.
(A.N: Think Neji from Naruto style of fighting).
Of late he had just been training openly, right in front of his mother. After all, one day he let his mother find him doing the training so that he could explain to her that he had been having these dreams and visions. His mother only asked some questions worriedly when she found out before she said nothing more. She had already known that her son was special after all. This only seemed to emphasize that point. One thing that she told Dusk to promise her, however, was that apart from his sisters, he would never tell that information to anyone else.
By the time Dusk became three years old, his body had become so nimble and strong, in fact, that he could lift up a 50 kg stone with both hands. At this time he had long white hair that reached below his knees, almost reaching the floor. While he was strong, he really didn’t look it. Were one to describe him, their first words would be cute, meek and tranquil. His range had also increased to 21 kilometres as he had made it a point to train both his body and mind at the same time.
Stream, too, had not slacked off in her training. By now, while she still looked small at only about fifteen centimetres in body length, her strength was no joke. She was right now just at upper D rank. Her advancement speed was indeed monstrous. At this point, Dusk had stayed with her so much in fact that he could now understand her perfectly. He had come to learn that her personality was that of a playful little sister, as often demonstrated by her actions.
All in all, the progress was good.
Dusk and Stream were quietly training one day, a few days after his third birthday when his mom came into the room and announced to Dusk that the Empress has called for all queens to meet at her palace.
“Ooh, this is going to be interesting.” Dusk thought with a smile on his face.

The graduating class of Hope's Peak Academy has been kidnapped sometime after their graduation ceremony. They wake up in a beautiful, plush mansion with no idea where they could be other than the name Our Mansion of Plenty. The physical barriers of steel plates and locked doors might not be enough to cage them, if it weren't for the malicious mechanical fairy calling itself The Fey and ruling their new lives with an iron--albeit tiny--fist. While being kidnapped is bad enough, the fact that this fairy brat is telling them to kill each other is definitely worse. Apparently, murdering one of your fellow victims is the only way to get out of this luxurious mansion. But nobody would do that...right? Cornucopia of Hope is a non-canon killing game completely alienated from the the canon universe of the Danganronpa games. The things borrowed from the games are as followed: Hope's Peak Academy, and the structure of 16ish hyper-skilled teenagers trapped in an enclosed space and being subjected to a motive, a murder, an investigation, a trial, and an execution of the presumed killer. There are no spoilers, tie ins, or previous knowledge required of the series to read this story!
