Link turned the heat up a notch and glanced worriedly at the passenger sitting next to him, "are you still cold?"
Zelda, who was bundled up in coat and mittens, nodded through the blue scarf wrapped around her.
Link sighed and turned it up some more, "I'm sorry to say that it's going to get a lot worse once we get to the park."
"I'm going to make snow angles!" Aryll yelled from the backseat.
"Nah! Let's have a snowball fight!" Tetra suggested.
Zelda glanced at Link before peering at the two girls behind her, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not Zelda?" Tetra asked smugly.
"Because if Link gets involved, it might not end well for some of us." She grinned over at her boyfriend.
Link shrugged and smiled, "I wouldn't mind having a snowball fight..."
"You don't want to mess Link when he has snowballs," Aryll told her friend, "he hit me in the face with a football once." Though she had tried to whisper, it was clearly audible to everyone in the car.
"That was an accident!" Link quickly said, "I wouldn't do that on purpose!"
Aryll continued to try and whisper, "imagine if it were a compact ball of ice."
Tetra smirked at the back of Link's head, "I bet he can't catch me."
Link caught Zelda's eye and winked with a smile. Zelda just laughed and looked back out the window.
It had been a week since Thanksgiving, and the snow had already claimed its territory to prepare for the upcoming holiday. Most of the fall leaves had fallen from the trees and piled up near the street curbs, damp with snow water.
It really was an amazing sight. Link had purposefully taken the long route to the park so they could see more of the snow. He also tried to drive longer to warm Zelda up as much as he could.

Finally they arrived at the park. The same park, where weeks before Tetra and Aryll had abandoned their siblings in an attempt to bring them together.
Somehow they had completely succeeded. Link often wondered how they could have done such a thing; after all, they were not completely obedient kids. What other kind of potential did they have?
Link parked the car and quickly got out, "don't open your door yet!"
Zelda enjoyed her last moments of the heater before Link opened up her door. Thanking him she stepped out of the car and immediately latched to his arm in an attempt to gain warmth.
Aryll and Tetra hurried out of the car and ran ahead of the couple to the park sidewalk.
"Hurry up you love birds!" Aryll yelled, "let's go play with the snow!"
Link and Zelda took their time to catch up to the area where their siblings were playing. All the trees that had previously had orange and yellow leaves were now covered with both snow and Christmas lights.
When they approached, Tetra was busy forming an arsenal of snowballs while Aryll was happily forming a snow angel.
Link and Zelda sat down on the cold bench and watched their siblings happily play. Earlier in the day Aryll thought it would be a good idea to go to the park. Nobody objected and they had quickly piled into the car.
Link considered himself a lucky man to be able to see his girlfriend every day. Recently he had become more familiar with her parents and things were looking well.
Zelda suddenly looked at Link.
"What's up?"
She shyly avoided his gaze a bit, "I'm pretty cold...could I sit on your lap?"
Link smirked a little, "you know, you don't have to ask Zelda-"
"I know I know, I just want to be polite," Zelda said standing up and sitting on Link's lap. Link enclosed his arms around her and brought her close to him.

"Eww! They're getting all mushy!" Tetra exclaimed pointing at them. Aryll made a barfing sound.
Link raised an eyebrow, "oh you think this is mushy?" Link leaned in and shared a kiss with Zelda.
"Gah!" Tetra said covering her eyes, "why..."
"If you wanted us to get together, wouldn't you expect us to be romantic?" Zelda asked with a small smile.
"Well yeah," Aryll confirmed, "but that doesn't mean you guys have to do it all the time. It just gets gross after a while."
"Someday it'll happen to you..." Link joked.
"Just stop talking!" Tetra yelled and returned to her snowballs.
Link and Zelda laughed and snuggled more closely together.
"Wanna gross 'em out again?" he suggested.
"You don't have to ask Link," Zelda mimicked as she pulled Link into a deeper kiss.
"Hey!"
Link felt a snowball hit his neck and disperse over himself and Zelda. Tetra stood a ways off with a snowball in her hand, smirking temptingly.
"You asked for it."
Link quickly stood and put Zelda behind him in one motion. After grabbing a handful of snow he pushed it into a ball shape and threw it at Tetra who was attempting to run away.
Tetra yelled as the cold snow collided with her back. She turned around and tossed the one she had in her hand.
Both Aryll and Tetra launched an aggressive snowball attack at Link and Zelda. Link tried his best to stay in front of Zelda to protect her and continue to throw balls and the girls.
Eventually Link suddenly ran towards the twelve-year olds. The girls screamed and tried to run from Link but he eventually tackled them each to the snow.
Zelda sat back on the bench laughing hard at the scene. Several other people walking around the park also glanced at the fight and laughed.
Once they returned she suggested that they take it easy now and stroll around the park. Zelda took Link's arm again and walked with him a few paces being their siblings.
"They did a really good job with the lights," Link said looking around.
"Ah, yes they did," Zelda agreed, "I still can't believe that you haven't put your Christmas tree up yet."
"It's not even December yet!" Link protested, "how is yours up already?"
"After Thanksgiving its okay," Zelda laughed, "what's the point of waiting?"
"I wait because it's not December yet."
"You're weird Link."
"Thank you."
Zelda abruptly stopped and looked around. Link stopped and noticed too. With a little smile he said, "it looks like they abandoned us again."
"They did," Zelda said with a little sigh, "I hope they don't get into trouble."
"Like say...ruining someone's date?" Link suggested.
"Yeah, like that," Zelda agreed.
Link turned Zelda towards him, "there's something about that incident that I never told you."
A little skeptical and worried Zelda hesitantly asked, "what's that?"
"They didn't ruin the date at all..."
As he trailed off the snow started to come down heavier.
Link gave her a cheeky smile and laughed, "they fixed it."
"Oh Link," Zelda laughed with him as she hugged him tight. "I know that ruining a date with a girl you don't like would actually be a fix."
After a little laugh they grew silent again, just hugging on the sidewalk. People passed them by with a quick glance or two, smiling at their state.
From behind a snowy bush, Tetra and Aryll peeked at their siblings hugging.
"Hugging isn't so gross," Aryll sighed happily, "they look so cute together."
"Yes they do," Tetra agreed, "I wonder if someday they'll repay us for everything we've done for them."
"I think that our reward is seeing them together," Aryll said.
Tetra hugged her best friend.
"Definitely."
